jimmy, Every hotel that I've stayed at in Pattaya has given me a rate significantly less than their daily rate when I stay for a week or longer and the longer my stay the larger the discount. As an example on my last trip I was paying 600 a night for a 30 day stay, when my friend arrived about 2 weeks later and walked up and asked for a rate at the same hotel for a shorter stay, they quoted him 1300. As stevens has mentioned you can find even better deals. On my next trip, I plan on checking out 2 places that I looked at on this past trip and if they are still priced at the same rate I will stay at one of them. Emil

H, I asked the GGG's if they wanted to take a motorbike and they declined as I have no problem forking out 20 baht if they want to ride. However I will make the walk everytime as I need the exercise and after traveling 1/2 around the world I will not risk any downtime in Pattaya due to a motorbike accident. I only wear T-Shirts, shorts and sandals and when skin meets asphalt, asphalt always wins. Emil

I've stayed at 7 different hotels in Pattaya including the Eastiny Place 3 times and I've never been asked for a deposit, however I've never stayed in the month of January. Emil

partyanimal, I stayed there this past February and my guess is it's more than 200 yards but less than 300 from Phratamnak Rd which becomes 2nd Rd at South Pattaya Rd. I didn't mind the walk and the GGG's that I took back from Walking St didn't complain. Emil

Don't know. I'm talking about the place that's near the Koenig and is a little over a year old, I think I saw another place called the White Rose across from the VC hotel. Emil

I got a quote of 25,500 for a month about a week ago at the Bella Villa which is located on Soi 4 across the Soi for the Hospital. The Nova Park is still advertising special rates of 15,000 a month and 18,000 a month for a studio and 1 bedroom suite on the Pattaya News. Emil

The Chinese New Year is similar to Easter in that it varies from year to year. Earliest is around 19th January and latest around 15th Feb. I wouldn't worry too much about hotel availability if your flexible, many hotels and apartments have been built in the last year along with expansions to existing properties with more still scheduled to open in the next few months. If your willing to venture off from the main drag there are plenty of good deals. Emil

Natana Garden View is 3500 per week and 6000 for 2 weeks. Opened about 3 months ago and is located about 100 meters east of 3rd Rd and north of Centeral Pattaya Rd. Emil

I posted on the Members Board of 2 hotels that had rooms available during the holidays. Bella Villa Prima and Natana Garden View. Also I looked at Nova Park. Also if you look at the Nova website it shows a higher rate, but yesterday on the Pattaya News it was advertising the studio unit for 15,000 baht/month and the 1 bedroom unit for 18,000 a month Emil

There is only a problem if your not flexible with type or location of hotel. I looked at 2 places last week and asked them if they were booked during the holidays and they said no. Emil

Besides the smoking area Mark mentioned, many of the smokers step out on the balcony of their room for a smoke where the hotel has placed ashtrays. Emil

Give this hotel a try, it just opened 2 weeks ago and is located on Soi 4. Haven't been inside to check out the rooms, but their card says Refrig, microwave, pool, sauna, jacuzzi and fitness. Bella Villa Prima bella@loxinfo.co.th Emil

Just a word of caution regarding pools. I'm currently staying in Pattaya at a hotel that I've stayed twice before this year. On the prior occasions I enjoyed the pool but when I used it this time it was too cold and I had to get out after swimming only 2 laps. It's on the north side of the hotel and this time of the year it is fully shaded. Emil

The only building site with any major noise is the construction on Soi 3 near Beach Rd. It's the stern of the new Cruise Ship hotel that was recently completed. The ohter construction that is taking place on this expansion project is nearly complete, mostly landscaping and interior work. Emil

The hotel that was under construction behind it on Soi 4, is now complete. Another hotel also under construction on Soi 4 about 80 meters from the new one is almost finished and should be done by February. Emil
