Help finding a party climate hotel.

Penthouse is probably your best bet, book the Babylon Suite. Emil -
andrew, I'm back home now after spending a month in Pattaya. When I'm there I do drink plenty of water and do alot of walking to get in some exercise, and to learn more about the area. However when it comes time to meet the ladies I use the baht bus because I don't want to be soaking wet. There are bars/go-gos located from North Pattaya to Jomtien Beach. The biggest concentration of them are located around Soi 2/2nd RD, Soi 6, Soi 7 & Soi 8, Pattayaland 2, and Walking St. Check the calendar out on this site to see who else will be in town when you are and stop in at FLB on a Sunday meeting. Tor, No, Mike's is located on Soi 4 about 40 meters off of Beach Rd. I think I know the hotel your referring to and Mike's is alot nicer looking. Emil
-
andrew, Being fit, strong and healthy might not be enough for walking bar to bar, if your going from Soi 7 to Walking St. I noticed your from Canada and you are going to notice a big change in the humidity from what your normally accustomed. Emil

I just rechecked the business card and I didn't make a typo. Here's the telephone and fax also from the card. Phone 66 38 420625-6 Fax 66 38 423951 This hotel is part of the Mike's group that also owns the Mike's Mall so if neither the phone number or fax work and if you can find an email address for the headquarters you might try that route. When I was there last month the hotel along with most of the others in Pattaya were less than 1/2 full, so if your going soon I don't think you will have any trouble getting as room. One other thing, if possible get a roon facing north and on one of the upper floors if you care about a view. Emil

SoCalGuy, I'm the one who posted the review, and to get that rate I had told them that I would be staying 16 nights. I just walked in and asked them the rate. Anyways here's the email address: resort@mikepattaya.com Emil

Emil replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
Jantrevor, I've flown Cathay non-stop from LAX to Hong Kong. What airline(s) are you aware of that fly non stop from SFO to BKK? I've had direct flights to BKK, but haven't found any non-stop which I would prefer if the price is reasonable. Emil -
Marine Yensabi Mansion vs. Sandy Spring
Emil replied to mrt's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
When I was last there, June 2nd, the restaurant was not open because they where waiting for the tables and chairs to be delivered. The front desk told me room service was available and I do believe seeing some trays sitting out in the hallways, but I never did try room service. Nice size TV's in rooms with many channels although only around a dozen or so in English. Telephones in room but I never did use it to dial outside and I don't have a computer so I don't know if you can use one in your room. -
Marine Yensabi Mansion vs. Sandy Spring
Emil replied to mrt's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm the one who posted the Marine review. I like the Marine because of its close location to Walking St, go-go girls have no problem walking the short distance. The rooms are nice, have a table and 2 chairs to eat on, large refrigerator, large balcony with a view of the bay, no chairs outside so you have to drag the ones from inside out. Large bed for you and 3 BG's if you desire. This place just opened in January so everything is pretty fresh. The only negative is no pool. I don't know about any charges for a 2nd girl because 1 is plenty for me. Emil -
If your refering to that large project underway at the corner of Soi Diana and Soi Buakaow those units were under various stages of construction when I left Pattaya June 19. Emil

One thing you have to do or you won't see Jun 03, or the past month is you have to change your settings because it's default is the current month and the next 11 months. Emil

I haven't been yet but it is something I want to do on a future trip, and neither are very commercialized. Here is some info from a magazine. Samet Island-1 hour ride from Pattaya. Beaches that surpass Ko Samui and Phuket in quality of sand and cleanliness. Check with one of the many little travel agencies in Pattaya, they can hook you up with transportation there and accommodations. Ferry to island 50 baht and national park fee 200 baht. Chang is down by Trat which is 270 km south of Pattaya and there are another 46 islands in this area. This area is even less commercialized than Samet. Bungalows available if you want to rough it. Again check with those travel agencies for the details. Emil

I agree with the irishman about the many options available in Pattaya. I wish this site included a restaurant section similiar to the hotel section where members could posts reviews and recommendations about their favorite greasy spoons. Emil
-
Diane, Have you looked into the islands that are just south of Pattaya like Samet and Chang. Emil

When I was in Pattaya this past May-June, I saw on the TV where a tourist bought some gems from one store and then later they took it over to another store ( I believe it was World Gem) and they told them they had paid too much. They then went to the police and the police got after the store for over charging. I didn't hear the final outcome. Emil

GS, One thing about the Thai girls and swimming, many don't have a suit, so on occasion you need to take them to a shop and buy them one. Also many don't like the sun so make sure there is some shade around. Emil

John, I believe that when he refers to liverwasters, he means foreign booze, and when he mentions Thai rotgut, its Thai booze, but this is just my guess. I figured out what he calls beer, which is my drink, and on an earlier Nightmarch he told us lolly water was soft drinks. Emil
-
Gabor, I voted maybe, only because I'm not familar with Hungarian food so I don't know if I would like it or not. Emil

GS, You should have no trouble finding a room at this time of the year. If you walk in they will quote you a daily rate, then ask them how much they will charge if you stay for a period of time. The longer you stay the better the deal. Right now both Flipper House and Sunshine have banners up showing their promotions. I'm not familiar with the Buena Vista, but if you mean the Bella Vista located next to the Pig and Whistle you shouldn't be paying more than 650 a night, however they don't have a pool. I was in Pattaya last month and walked in without a reservation and no problem getting a room, most hotels less than 50% full. Have fun. Emil

Fonz, Pete isn't the author, he just copies the bi-weekly Nightmarch articles for our benifit. Liver wasters is a term the author uses to describe drinks that have alcohol such as gin, vodka, tequila, bourbon, and etc. in them. Emil
-
Tim, When I stay off the baht bus route I'll give the girls a little extra for transportation. If there are any Thai motorbikes guys around the girls usually prefer them and 40-80 baht will usually get them back to their room. Emil

rhino $10 Aus , I didn't realize that the Aus $ was that much less than the US $. Most of the barbershops in Pattaya that aren't located in the big malls or hotels charge between 60-100 baht. I don't think the Thai's tip when they get a cut, but I give them 20 baht. Emil

Hall, That was one of them. Emil

I have a request for those of you who have girlfriends in Pattaya and call them. I wish that when you call them that it would not be in the middle of the night, at least a half a dozen times on my recent trip I was awakened in the middle of the night when my tilac received a call which I know was from a boyfriend because she was talking in English. KJ, One of my good friends was recently divorced and not only did she get 1/2 the assets and child support (which he didn't mind and the child eventually came to live with him) but 1/2 of his income for 10 years after the divorce.
