I have both a debit card and credit card (VISA) from my credit union that allows me access to my checking account funds. On the back of both cards are the COOP, STAR, and PLUS logos. I always take both and keep one in the hotel security boxes, just in case I lose one are it becomes ineffective like kjvegas's. Never had a problem finding a machine and have never been charge a fee from my credit union. Emil

Jim, It's located about 100 meters in. I never felt threatened but I was always with a TG late at night. They didn't have a website or email when I was there in March. Again, no pool, but you didn't list that as one of your requirements. Emil
-
Shilo, I forgot to include the additional 370 miles you would get if you bought the ticket on a Northwest credit card. Emil
-
Shilo, I crunched the numbers for you and your better off paying the $785 and getting miles. Basically for 785 your getting 1.32 trips. Effective cost of the trip would be $595. 2/3 of $595 = $397, or $18 savings. Emil

Jimmy, I think I mentioned it to you before, check out the Marine Yensabai Mansion it just opened this January. Large room with large balcony with a view of the bay if your on one of the higher floors with an odd numbered room. Large frig with small freezer on top and produce bin below. A/C that is adjustable and doesn't turn off when you leave the room. You should be able to get a room for around 650 and maybe lower because of the length of your stay. Quite area and only about 200 + meters from FLB. Emil

Residence Garden v. Jomtien Boathouse v. Eastiny
Emil replied to PenName's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
winner, Eastiny Place does not have in room safes. Security boxes available at reception. Don't know about Eastiny Inn, because I haven't stayed there. PenName, I would recommend either Eastiny or either of the Flippers if your going to be doing alot of drinking and chasing TG's. Plenty of both right out your front door. Emil -
Jimmy, The microwave requirement eliminates many potential places. I wonder if there is a place in Pattaya where you could rent one or buy a used one. Emil
-
Like SFdude said, Foodland is on Central Rd, about midway between 3rd Rd and Sukhumvit Rd. Baht busses run along Central Rd regularly at least during the afternoon, don't know about late at night. Emil

Jimmy, The Soi should read 18, I guess if you strike 8 and paren you get a smiley.
-
Jimmy, If you like the South Pattaya area, you might want to check out the White Rose Mansion on Soi Yensabai (Soi 18). Quite area and you should be able to get a room for around 600 baht or less. Didn't stay there, but did stay at 2 nearby hotels, Koenig and Marine but they didn't have a pool, the White Rose did. Emil

Like valentino stated, I've seen many of the (128/256K) around Pattaya for 1 baht a min and some that are 30 baht an hour after 11 PM. Emil

Peter, I've never done it. but if you've never been to Thailand you might be under the impression that the term "Limo" infers a rather large vehicle that you could have alot of fun in, at least I did until I first got to Thailand. When I got to Thailand I soon discovered that when they use the term "Limo" its just a standard sized Mercedes sedan or a Toyota Camray, unless the Penthouse is using the large Limos. Go ahead and do it if you want to start your vacation with style, I just wanted to make sure you know what your in for, also do they let you select your female companionship from a photo album, if not you could be in for a big dissappointment :'( unless your not to selective. jimmybcool, If I was going to be there for that long, I would get me a room for a couple days. Then check out some places that appealed to me and ask them in person what is the rate. You should get a good quote since your staying over a month and until November it's the slow season. Another thing that is in your favor is they continue to open new hotels or add on to existing ones. Emil
-
Dave, It could be a nice experience, a while back another board member mentioned that there where plenty of Thai girls on these busses. Emil
-
mason45, The Thai Limo option cost 200 + you have to pay to get to their office up on 3rd Rd, also they only have 3 departure times. Mini buses to the airport cost 300 baht and will pick you up at your hotel and you can book these at the numerous travel agencies throughout Pattaya. Many departure times with the first at 0600, however I'm not sure about the last. If you take the bus to Mor Chit, a metered taxi to the airport is around 100 baht. Emil

irishman, My last two trips, I also never received an email answer from Eastiny Place. However when I arrived they were expecting me and had a copy of an email confirming my reservation. For some strange reason the emails they send me I can't receive, this was not a problem when I stayed with them before. The lowest rate I've received from them were 650. Emil
-
Sprinter, If you don't get an answer, try contacting the Eastiny Inn or Place, all under the same ownership. Emil

John, Nothing wrorg in trying to stretch your dollar and get the best deal. Just be sure you factor in everything. Some of those deals posted on websites will cost you dearly if you have to change your travel dates. Also many will not include airmiles on those deals. Unless the cost of the ticket that doesn't include miles isn't discounted significantly from the ticket that does include airmiles, you will end up paying more in the long run. Emil

landa2a, I've never done the condo before, but I've heard some you'll be charged additional for electricity and water. Also you will not get daily maid service unless you are willing to pay additional. Also be sure to factor in location when you do your cost analysis or in the long run you could wind up paying more when you factor in baht bus/taxi fares unless you are planning to rent a car/motorbike. You are going to be there during low season and with the SARS scare it will be even slower. Recently more hotels have been opened and they should really be hungry to fill their rooms and I would think you could get an excellent deal. I saw monthly rates last month for the Siam Sawasdee Hotel for 9000/11000. Emil

winner, As your walking toward the Koenig Mansion on Soi Yensabai, it will be on your left when your near the White Rose Mansion. It is not on Soi Yensabai but you can't miss it as it'sthe tallest building you'll see from that point. Emil
-
zappa, The Penthouse might, it's probably kinkyest hotel in Pattaya. The Ruby on Soi 6 has the mirrors, but it's a bar and the rooms are for S/T. Emil

I don't know about Chakri Day, but I've been in Pattaya on other days where the bars were closed. On those occasions it seemed that any bar that had a door was closed and many of the open air bars were also closed. I don't believe that restaurants are effected so you could get a drink in them or the open air bars that are opened. You should be able to find a lady in one of the open air bars or along the street ( they'll find you) but your options will be limited. I did what eeze suggested and kept the lady from the night before and if you do this, try to spend more time with her prior to paying the barfine in the hope that you have made the right choice. Emil

When I used this service the scheduled departure time was 0900, 1200, and 1900 and that you can also purchase your ticket from the Thai Limo window number 5 in Terminal 2. I used their service prior to landy2a so their departure times may have changed. Emil
-
Those numbers should be 038, I don't know why the smiley appears. Emil

cnx, They're not online, but their phone number is (038) 411544, 414641. Fax is (038) 414640. Emil
