cost of seeing doctor at Bangkok Pattaya
farang1 replied to simon_cook's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I was thinking the same thing. 2700 baht doesn't sound like that good of a deal. -
How can the borrower pay 24% in a real currency? You would have to be using funny money to pay this rate.

Greek bonds are paying 20% per year for 10 years. Try to beat that.

Too bad it didn't work out that way.

Investing in a Pattaya condominium
farang1 replied to Siam Sam's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I don't know how you figure condos are cheap right now, unless you are talking about ones on the darkside. The newer ones like View Talay 6 and others that are centrally located are running in the area of 70,000 per sq m. The fact that many condos are on the market does not appear to have lessened the prices. -
This place was getting real terrible reviews a couple of years ago on another forum. Maybe they have cleaned up their act.
-
I agree with your final assessment, having stayed there on all my trips. The place is super safe and very well run. Never had anything missing, and their in wall private safes behind the check in desk is the reason I have come always back.

I don't think you can book Sandy Springs through Agoda.
-
Very good. You had me going right up to the last sentence.

Can you take a girl longtime out of this bar?

There is no such website as tycoonplace.com.

Review: 1 Month Condo From Dancewatchers.com
farang1 replied to SmellyFarang's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
The positive review of Dancewatchers is consistent with what I have read elsewhere. Also, Fair Properties, as noted in the post, has a terrible reputation. Overall, if I was going to stay at View Talay, I would use Dancewatchers. -
Lifetime membership of 7 gyms

First rule of Pattaya is never trust Tony. -
Mr T is 1000 baht, and you know someone reliable will be waiting at the airport to pick you up. Can't say the same for a taxi driver at the airport who could be anyone. As anyone who has used Mr.T can attest, he is definitely the way to go.

The PBR room at the above rate is way too small for comfort. I don't know how you got LK Metropole at that price. I checked Agoda and the LK website, and can't find anything close to 27,000 baht for a month.
-
The charge listed on Agoda is exclusive of certain costs, so there is no way to know what you are actually paying. There is no location given for this place, and no information about whether there is free wi fi. Looks like a crap shoot if you book IMHO.

A lot of times I can't reply to a post. I get a message saying that I am not allowed to reply to a particular topic.

Irish rovers, Kilkenny or Rockhouse?
farang1 replied to onetrue21's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Does the Rockhouse accept credit cards and does it have a elevator for the higher floors? I could not find this information on their website. I checked out IR last time in Patts. The large rooms are nice, but I see 4 issues. First, no elevator; second, it does not accept cc; third, the in room safe did not appear secure; 4 there is no separation between shower and toilet. -
LK Metopole or Tim's Botique
farang1 replied to shaolindude's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I checked the PBR out last time I was in Patts in June. The bathroom's shower is right next to the toilet with no separation. This is very common in Thai establishments. The Pasadena Lodge is a much better accomodation and price IMHO. -
I always stay in the deluxe room and agree with above. It is also very quiet at night, a big plus in Pattaya. The only downside is that the hotel charges 120 baht per hour for wi fi, so I go elsewhere for my internet needs.

I couldn't open any pages on this site dealing with rooms and price.

Bay Breeze is on Soi Honey, right off Second Road, across from Mike's Shopping Mall. I have one question about their safe. Do they have the only key? In Sandy Springs hotel, the staff has one key and you have the other one. Both keys are needed to open your wall safe. I like this system better than in room safes.
-
The guesthouses I have looked at don't have elevators. This is a real drag unless you only have to walk up one flight of stairs. Also, you may have a problem if they don't accept credit cards.

Billabong hotel soi LK Metro CC prepayment?
farang1 replied to NorCalKid's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I have always given my CC to Sandy Springs in advance on Soi 13 and have never had a problem. I guess it all depends on the hotel.
