Umm not sure on crowd numbers for Perth, looked like a reasonable crowd on Saturday & Sunday. I know a bloke who was in one of the corporate boxes for Sunday, and when play was finished inside an hour, was a bit pissed off. However they let them stay & drink the mini bar dry any way! Predicting a big crowd for MCG Boxing Day - 100,000+ The Boxing Day Test Match is THE Biggest day on the Oz sporting calendar - along with Melbourne Cup, AFL Grand Final etc.... The Melbournites are sports mad. To be honest boxing day test match regardless of who will are playing is always big, but Ashes makes it even bigger. Sorry Nidnoyham don't know who your football team is (with your board name my guess is West Ham)..... I follow Liverpool from afar..... but I only really look at their scores - & I think they are mid table this season, buts its been a while since they won anything much - Its all Man U & Chelsea.... is that about right? I think the remaining 2 test matches will be intriguing - its great that our mob seem to have found their "mojo" - It was looking like an embarsement. I even think the Barmy Army blokes would seceretly be happy that they will now witness a spirited contest. Aussie's will accept their team losing - so long as they have put up a fight. Capitulation is not an option! Best of luck to both teams - they would appear to be evenly matched now, and whoever plays best in the clutch moments will win the small urn! Marry Xmas Cluster

Good luck to you Tarl - can't think of too many better places to catch the boxing day test match than Patts - Cluster

The word from those in the know a few years back was Hodge & Ponting did not get along so well..... think that may have hurt Hodge's long term career. I agree Brad Hodge IS a fantastic player & like many others "should have played more for Australia". As for Brad Hodges, think he played a few seasons at full forward for the Crows! Cluster

Hey Rickster59 I think Watson has enough on his plate with opening the batting, and being the 4th quick (when we pick a spin bowler), agree Clarke appears to have lost his way, and is not the first in line anymore after Ponting. I think we look elsewhere - there is a proven captain in the ranks, albeit injured at the moment - Simon Katich, he is the man in my opinion to take over from Punter - it may only be for a few seasons, but by then who know - Smith, Fergusson, Watson (by then) may be ready? Looking forward to boxing day, it was disapointing we knocked over the poms in under an hour yesterday, nothing on the box worth watching then.... had to do some gardening!!!! - Oh well had a few beers while out there though - Cluster

Whats happened to Nidnoyham..... gone very quiet, like the Barmy Army yesterday - did not hear a peep from them, other than the last post on the bugle! Finally balance is restored! Cluster

Good Luck with that MM...... I look forward to your report! Cheers Cluster

Well from the last series out here when we kicked your white flabby arses 5-0 it was tears of laughter at how pathetice you mob were! I concede its a case of tears of pain this time round..... Watson & Haddin fuck up a catch as i type....... Cluster

Salt water generally kills grass..... a bit like that bloody Cook is doing to our bowlers. Think we should have played Beer...... may be the only Beer the blokes in the green hats deserve! Cluster

Look at it this way Rickster..... at least you don't have to scrape 3 foot of snow off them first! Cluster

As much as it hurts me to say it.... the poms are a lot better side than we are now. To bring back Hughes who is averaging 15 for the season, Smith who will play and bat at 6, when he is not making runs for NSW & pick an unheard of spinner, sorry boys - but us aussies are screwed. Think it will soon be time to go through with a broom. Although if we didn't have Hussey, we would have been a total embarasement. Lets look at a few of the younger blokes around the place - Ferguson, Christian, George, Kuwaja, Cameron etc.. I have enjoyed Pontings career, but he getting toward the end, Clarke will need to find form soon, or he can have a spell, Johnson is a disgrace & should go back to state cricket, Bolinger should never wear a baggy green cap again. Hillfy on thin ice. North dropped, but should have never played in this series on form. Hope we can salvage something from the wreck, and put up a better performance in the old dart in 2 years time. My 2 cents Cluster

As soon as the airlines releases my dates.... I book 'em!

I ride a bike in Australia, that's dangerous enough for me. In Thailand - no way!

As much as I hate to say it - the Pakistani's should be kicked out of world cricket until they can demonstrate and "clean" record of not match fixing. How they can prove that is beyond me, however to play any game against a Pakistan side now is bringing the great game into further dis-repute.

Hi Gonzo I can't agree that Soccer is a MAJOR sport in Australia, and I asuming in the USA..... not like Baseball & American Football, even Ice Hockey and Basketball. They are surely the major sports. AFL & Rugby dominate in Australia like you say. I am an AFL follower, grown up with it, follow Hawthorn. Yes I will tune into the world cup, watch/support the Socceroo's..... like any self respecting Aussie will. But I stop short of being "passionate" about soccer, as I suspect many Aussies are due to the way the players carry on after a minor ankle tap. Falling over as if shot, carted off on a stretcher, only to be up and about 5 minutes later and back on the field..... For Fucks Sake! As far a a magnificent spectacle goes..... on the world stage it has its place and its appeal, but personally I find the Olympic Games better. Each to their own I suppose. As Athletes go, I think AFL players beat them in just about every regard. Sure, soccer players they have great skill (but they are NOT the best sportsmen in the world IMHO)l.... but so do AFL players. Think Chris Judd.... now there is an athlete, who can run, kick with precision, and get bashed about physically week in week out and just get on with it. To me that is the part of the modern AFL player that we Aussie really admire. Look I hope the Socceroos get past the 1st round, but can't see us beating the Germans, Croatia we are a chance, and Ghana (I think it is) hard to predict anything there. The initial post was having a dig at the Socceroos as being no good. My point was the BEST Australian footballers (IMHO) don't actually play the round ball game. Its a bit like Rugby in Australia... when the poms rubbish us after beating us in the world cup. Rugby is played (seriously) in only half of Australia.... Vic, SA, TAS & WA are all AFL states. So when the poms beat us at Rugby they are beating half the country, coz the rest of us really couldn't give a XXXX! Cluster

Have to agree with the OP here... Sure the Aussies won't get past the 1st round, but I am guessing the yanks won't either. Lets face it Soccer (Football) is a minor sport in both our countries! Who cares.... move along. Cluster

Some airlines who don't give a refund may allow you to defer your travel dates. It's worth asking the question, given what has happened in LOS they may be very understanding! Cluster

I know you are not gonna believe me - but it was not tuned to the porn chanel! Though I can see why you came to that conclusion, I had to look hard at the screen - can't recall what was on at the time - may have been "getaway". Cluster
