  1. Good Wood Nokking, Monkeyman. My favorite one has still got to be, "All Rise". Me first trip to LOS they were playing it all over the place. On my last trip I had to bribe the DJ at Hard Rock to play it. Everytime he played it, I would buy him a brew. After about a sixpack, the pole huggers were ready to run me out of the place. Still have it on me puter and will have to fire it up when I get a little closer to my trip. SB
  2. Stayed at the Dynesty a couple of years ago. It was ok but, for about half the price of the Dynesty Inn, you can stay at the Worabori. Has a rooftop pool and pretty decent restaurant there also. Rooms are a bit smaller than the Dynesty but, it wasn't a big deal. SB
  3. FF29, not sure about the trophy, but the photo of Hilly's caddy running for her life after he dropped his knickers, has to be a classic. SB
  4. Well, Doggie sure had his swang working the day of the RideHer Cup. He and Stevo gave us one hell of a match. That was the first time I had ever played in a match play format. Doggie and Stevo were in the cart talking about strategy and BKK Bob and I were talking about what the hell club do we hit next. Kudos to Doggie for his reverse mulligan. Promptly shanked me next shot. Nice call. SB
  5. Traveler, don't know much about the hotel, but I do know you will be right in the middle of the action. Seems like 4 out of 5 bar girls in Pattaya stay on Soi VC. Stayed on Soi Yensabi this trip and always walked through Soi VC to get home. Even saw one of the go go's girls room on Soi VC. For 3000 baht a month, I say she was being ripped off. Hope you have fun on your upcoming trip, I sure did. SB
  6. I hear you Vikingfan. Stayed at Dynasty Resort last trip and too many baht buses. Arrived in Pattaya yesterday. Really like the Koenig Mansion. Good deal for 600 baht. Cold air and lobby looks like a modern disco. Haven't had to dodge any lady boys yet on the way to Walking st. Seems like a pretty quiet area. Later, Got to go find some suds on Soi 7. SB
  7. Thanks Steve, was hoping that Thaidane and I wouldn't be playing cave man golf, treelimbs. SB
  8. Put me on the list for club rentals for the Rideher Cup. Don't want to go through all the hasstles of hauling me clubs around the airport this trip. SB
  9. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Have booked the Koenig Mansion for 600 baht. Seemed to be the best bargain around. SB
  10. VT, how did you go about getting the 360 rate? Looks like I might be overpaying at the 450 rate. SB
  11. Don't know about the hotel in Pattaya, but the one in BKK told me that for the cheap rooms (450 baht) there would be a 200 baht joiner fee. Guess I will know for sure next month. SB
  12. If that twenty yard grounder gets me past the ladies tee, I would certnee be for a couple of mulligans. SB
  13. Can't say for sure but, 205 at Phoenix sounds like the same caddy I had for 2 rounds there last Oct. She absolutely cracked me up. Was playing with 2 expats who cursed a lot during the round. She was always mimicing the expats everytime they cursed. Didn't play too good but, she made the round a hellava lot of fun. SB
  14. Was planning on getting in a practice round at the Khao Kheow course either on the 30/31 of Oct. Haven't played there before and need to practice gettin me balls past the ladies tees. SB
  15. Thanks for the invite Steveo. What time does your flight land? I'm on Cathay Pacific and they land at 10:30. Just wondering what to do for 4 and a half hours? Noticed that Thai Limo has a shuttle out at noon, so I might take that. Thanks, SB
  16. Just wondering if anyone has ever shipped their golf clubs from LOS to the states? If so, what company does this and their fees? Thanks, SB
  17. Will also be checking into the Koenig Hotel on the 29th of Oct. based on the reviews on this board. Liked the location, price, and the pool. Stayed at Dynasty Resort last year and preferred a closer hotel to the action this trip. SB
  18. Doggie, pencil me in for the team USA. Hdcp: 18 Was wondering what tee boxes you played from last year, blue, yellow, or white? SB
  19. RayW, how are the greens out at Phoenix now? Had to be the fastest greens I've ever putted on. Think I had about 70 putts that day. Other than the greens, really liked the course and the clubhouse. SB
  20. Do I really need a handicap card to play in the RideHer Cup? Sure would hate to mess up my swing by playing more than one round per year. Gave up golf for mongering and haven't played since last Oct in LOS. SB
  21. Tried booking there a couple of days ago over the internet. The best rate for a seaside view was 650 Baht. They emailed me back, saying they wanted a credit card number. Thinking I can get a better deal with a walk up rate and not have to give out my cc number over the internet. Any feedbacks? Thanks, SB
  22. Wondering if there are any cheap hotels left in Nov. Tried Apex and Sunshine and their rates jump from 500 in Oct to 900 baht in Nov. Thanks, SB
  23. Well actually, it's only a 50 minute layover and I guarantee that I will not have any checked luggage. Even picked out a seat in the Front Row. Was kinda debating on whether to bring my golf clubs or not. Out of the question now. Sure hated hauling them around last year. SB
  24. Thanks LT. Just booked my flight for Oct, flying out of SFO. Finally be able to arrive in BKK in the daytime. Only have a one hour layover coming back into SFO. So, might have to do the OJ Simpson thing through the airport. Even if I miss my connecting flight from SFO, I could always find a flop house for the night. There appears to be quite a few seats still available. SB
