The 2004 RideHer Cup
saigon_butterfly replied to doghaus's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Hey Doggie, Just got back from playing my practice round this year in Costa Rica, so I'm ready for the Rideher Cup. As for the caddies, how about having a lineup this year so we can pick the cream of the crop. Kinda like a raffle system. See ya in some 30 odd days. SB -

Stayed there a couple of weeks last year and found it to be a very nice hotel. VERY girl friendly. About a 10 minute stroll to walking st. Good Luck, SB

Lord Nelson
saigon_butterfly replied to saigon_butterfly's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks Doug. I have reservations for the first of Nov. at the Lord Nelson, so I'm hoping they are finished before Dec. If not, will probably stay at the QV. SB -
I usually prefer a two hour layover. Gives me enough time to finish a pack of smokes. By the way, does anyone know if there are any smoking lounges in either MSP or DTW? As for connecting with different airlines, I really don't think it is a good idea. On my trip last year I flew to SFO with an award ticket and had to wait 9 hours for my CP flight. Return trip, my flight was late and wound up staying overnight in SFO. Think it's a better idea going from point to point with one airline. SB

Golf programme - 18th to 25th September
saigon_butterfly replied to doghaus's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
LOL, Good one Doggie. I suppose the butterflys like playing different holes. Just had a vision of a tour bus pulling up at one of those small bars and the TG's thinking, "Am I gonna have to service all those mongers by myself?" See Ya, SB -

Doggie, how about giving us a short trip report on that Eastern Star course. Somehow when Eastern Star is mentioned, the word barfine comes to mind. Would be interested in the after golf activities in Nov. SB -
I just booked tonight for 31 Oct - 15 Nov. and flying 747's both ways. Maybe the Airbuses are just for the high rollers. SB

NW has come out with their cash and miles for nov and dec. Just got my e-ticket for $433 from New Orleans to BKK. SB

Sounds like yall gonna have a great golf outting Doggie. Would like to join but, will be in Costa Rica at that time working on me reverse mulligan. Perhaps this year we could have a reversal of a reverse mulligan. See yall in Nov. SB -
The good stuff is expensive, eh? Guess I'll have to give up me White Owls while in LOS. SB

How large is the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel? Heard that the eye candy was pretty good but, not much infro about the pool. Thanks, SB -
Just wondering if anyone around soi 6 has noticed this new hotel going up and how close are they to being finished. Hoping to stay there in Nov., if it's open by then. Thanks, SB

United will start service to Vietnam
saigon_butterfly replied to BigDUSA's topic in Airline Discussion
Yeah BigD, give us a trip report when you get back. Like to know if they are still offering ST for 2 bucks, and LT for 5. Doubt seriously if there are any barfines in Saigon but, that Saigon Tea will sure kill your budget. SB -
LAX-BKK $636 or JFK-BKK $806 Cathay Sept-Nov
saigon_butterfly replied to Hoss's topic in Airline Discussion
I suspect that CP flight from the west coast to BKK will drop to 499 in a couple of months. Thats what I paid last Nov but, with no FF miles. SB -
Shilo, good luck on trying to get a free ticket with NW for 60,000 miles. Seems like the only fare they offer is the Rulebusters, which is 120,000. SB

Is anyone else waiting for prices to drop
saigon_butterfly replied to ting_tong's topic in Airline Discussion
Waiting on NW to offer that cash and miles for Nov. If that doesn't happen, will probably try for the United/Eva deal. SB -
Is it worth bring my clubs ??
saigon_butterfly replied to stoace's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Stoace, now that is a really tough question for me also. My first trip, I brought my clubs and played quite a few rounds. On my second trip, decided to rent the clubs and only played one round. Kinda leaning towards bringing them this year hoping it will force me to get me lazy arse outta bed and on the course. Good Luck, SB -
One For The Cheap Charlies
saigon_butterfly replied to Bazzap's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
That 150 baht a day sounds interesting. I can sleep in central america w/o ac, not sure about LOS yet. SB -
Read in the paper the other day that NW's bookings on trans pacific flights were up 31 percent this year. Guess that explains their crappy attitude. SB

4some(Golf) anybody?
saigon_butterfly replied to p3squid's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Alan, it's not about the golf. It's playing with the caddies that is so much fun. SB -
Stayed there last Nov for 450 baht. Looks like the place got too popular. Now the cheapest rooms are twice that amount. Not worth the 900 baht in my opinion. Good luck, SB

Anyone know of any cheap flights in sept
saigon_butterfly replied to andy617's topic in Airline Discussion
When does that $480 NW special come out? Sure would like to cash in some miles. SB
