  1. Okay apart from all that?
  2. As another former banker I would endorse that point of view.
  3. When I stayed there no in room safe in front wing. Despite many TV channels no ESPN or Star Sport in rooms. If neither of these things bother you it is an excellent place to stay.
  4. Not sure about superbowl. Bella Villa Prima on Soi 4 has a fitness centre and is about the same price as Areca Lodge.
  5. That is the recommended guy on the OFB Board. Seems to be satisfactory.
  6. I agree with above sentiments. BVP much better located than RG. I know nothing about wireless internet in rooms. I thought the 24/7 internet access in lobby is a great facility.
  7. Areca did not have ESPN in the rooms up to last June. Has this changed in last 6 months?
  8. Denny, I seem to recall a difficult lady known to both of us, who also wondered where the beach was.
  9. Phloenchit Sky Train station is closeby. That will give you the option of staying in many places on Sukhumvit and travelling 1 or 2 stops on the Sky Train.
  10. Bella Villa Prima Soi 4. 1150 baht. They have both channels. I also like having the option of watching football in my own room.
  11. Too many Indians?

  13. I would suggest you start reading. There is more than enough material in the forum for a series of articles. Member's Bar and Newbies' Corner would probably be the best area to concentrate on.
  14. Both always. I always spend last week of 4 in Bangkok, and have brought lady from Pattaya on last few visits. As long as she doesn't want to buy 1/2 of MBK much cheaper than local talent.
  15. Thanks for your responses guys, and compliments of the season to you all.
  16. I will be spending 4 nights in Chiang Mai with "a friend" in late February. It is the week of the 1st leg 2nd round Champions League games. I am just wondering if any one has noticed if any of the hotels mentioned have ESPN, and other sports channels to view these matches. Presumably there are bars in town where you can watch the football if the hotels do not have the required channels.
  17. I t would seem all your fears were realised and you had a miserable time.
  18. I hope you are not very tall. Seat pitch 31"in Economy
  19. Read some of the boring threads on the forum ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  21. No Morchit is closer. Prices about the same I would think.
  22. Compared to Evergreen DelUxe I found Elite Class dissapointing. As stevemcm said the aisles are narrower and the standing area at the back of Evergreen Deluxe badly missed. I had no problem with going into economy and down to the back for a stroll. Much easier to get a drink and water the horses back there if required. I agree that it is nice to have a look out from time to time to see what it is like below. It is a geography lesson in many senses. I had already booked with them in February before my recent trip but given I am 6'3" the advantage of the extra leg room still appeals. I always reserve an aisle seat so I avoid those big damn boxes on the floor in window seats. If you were guaranteed many empty seats I would say economy would be fine.
  23. I stayed there 3 times. No inroom safe in front block. Sports channels almost non existent. I like to have the option of watching football in my own room. I imagine this would not bother many board members.
  24. There are several previous threads on Areca Lodge. Here is one. I would suggest a search for others. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...&hl=areca+lodge
  25. Just back after travelling with Eva. I have to say I thought the food was okay.
