Omni Tower on Soi 4 down the street from Nana. Studio at 2100 baht approx.

Never stayed there but often had the dinner buffet for about 160 baht I think. Terrific value.

I have stayed several times in a studio apartment and can confirm they have in room safes.

Just back from LOS which included 4 days in Chiang Mai. Many thanks to all you fine gentlemen who recommended Pornping Towers. I thought the hotel was excellent value at 1150 baht with buffet breakfast for 2. The room was spacious and comfortable.Night market was just a stroll away. No inroom safe but safety deposit box available in lobby 24/7. As regard watching the Champions League games I noticed an English Pub near the night market which indicated viewing was by invitation only. I suspect when the Chelsea-Barcelona games are on a lot of guys in Bangkok and Pattaya will have nothing better to do.

Omni Tower further down Soi 4. It is now just over 2,000 baht per night. An easy walk to Dynasty Inn without luggage. With luggage 35 baht taxi. From my experience last year Majestic had only 1 sports channel. I had 1 Premier League game, but could not see the Arsenal/Man U game which was on other sports channel

I have never been on a baht bus going north on 2nd Road around Soi Diana/Soi Honey area that turned left at Central Road. They always continued north up past Big C/Soi 2 to the Dolphin Roundabout.

Several threads on this hotel in last few months giving good reports on the place.I hope you will do a hotel review for the benefit of others considering staying there.

All this discussion about delays make me nervous. I am going out with Eva on Thursday. Does any good samaritan know of a link to Bkk airport that gives an up to date account of plane arrivals and delays expected.? I am sure I stumbled across a link a few years ago, but I damned if I can find it again. I would like to monitor flight arrivals for the next few days.

Taking it very easy I would guess 20 minutes. In a moderate climate I would say about 12 minutes.
