West East sale began this morning, which is probably the reason there is a long phone wait today.

I will be checking out of Majestic Suites sometime on morning of Feb 4th, and heading to Pattaya. Hoping someone in the area might have similar plans, and be interested in sharing a taxi.

After connecting flight from Ireland either Thai Air from London, or Eva from Amsterdam.

Rate: 1190 baht room with pool view; slighty less if on the other side with no pool view. Location: About 200 metres off 2nd Road on Soi Diana, which is opposite Mike shopping Mall.

I would 2nd that recommendation.

Agree with both of you guys that GP is over priced. Stayed in a Topaz in Feb 03 for 7600 baht per week. But since then a few price hikes which I could understand but the 10% service charge on top of those has made it poor value IMO. Wisbadger, I have stayed in Majestic Suites and have booked again for a few days for my next trip. Very nice hotel IMO and excellent location.

Areca Lodge, Soi Diana off 2nd Road. Easy walking distance to Soi 13.

Cheaper surely to visit a few FKK Clubs.

According to Skytrax Emirates Economy 32"-33". 33 not much difference but 32 on long haul flight big difference.

Or as the upper class would refer to it as Extracting the Urine.

I flew with them in November 02. London-Bahrain had a 34" seat pitch but only 31" from Bahrain-Bangkok in both directions. Stopover about 2 hours on way out which was not too bad due to novelty value of place. 3 hour stop on way back was like watching paint dry. Wish I had known about the 3 hour bed and shower.

Eneukman, As far as I am concerned BA can shove their economy 31" seatpitch. I see from Skytrax that Economy Plus is 38" seat pitch. What kind of a price difference approx are you talking about for a Lhr- Bkk round trip.

I would agree with all the above sentiments. Good fitness centre, 24 hour internet a few yards away, short walk to 2nd road, 2 breakfasts, nice rooms.

I have always admired the Scotsman who went outside in early December, fired a few shots in the air, then came back in and told the kids Santa had committed suicide. What a nice man.

No chance of rocking the boat it would seem.

Never stayed there but from what I have read it is not guest friendly.

I find the footpaths err sidewalks can be dangerous in Bangkok and Pattaya.

Thus far all I can say is I definitely connect to my ISP and I have anti virus and personal firewall. Hopefully I will be able to sort it out. Don't go away because I may have to ask for help again, and judging by the very limited number of viewers, most guys seem to be interested in other subjects .

shergar, I have booked Omni Towers for 10 days in 2nd half of February. \it is reassuring to see such a positive rcommendation.

I would recommend Areca Lodge, Soi Diana off 2nd road about 1100 baht per night.

shergar, I would suggest you read reports on this hotel on the Bangkok Tonight Forum. It gets consistently very poor reviews. Where have you been all these years?

Of late I am having a problem with continual dialling up every few minutes. I am the only person who uses the PC Windows XP. When I disconnect from the internet, and do anything off line, the damn computer keeps dialling up the ISP every couple of minutes. It means I have to log off every time when I finish, rather than leave the desktop on as I did previously. I would appreciate advise from any of you guys out there, who have a better understanding of computers than me. ( I would imagine that should cover well over 90%) Thus far a mixture of kind words and threats have not produced any results.
