This site also has a good thread about getting a license. It's just below in the Archives section but if you have trouble going that far, here is the lonk! http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7720 Cheers

I've seen them in Robinson's also. Robinson's has a number of appliances that farangs are familiar with but most Thais don't use. Like I bought an electric beater there. The only problem is the nearest Robinson's is in Sri Racha. Cheers

Larry, I ate at Tequila Reef 3 times. I had the serious shits 2 of the three times that I have eaten there and both times I had their buffet. Besides, the turkey was dried out and not worth a repeat even if I hadn't gotten sick from it. Emil, I have eaten at the White Knight between 80 to 100 times so far and never been sick from eating there. But I want to emphasize one thing. I never eat there alone! Fuck, the katoeys in that area are really a rough looking bunch, aren't they! Cheers

If someone had told me 6 months ago that there would be a thread on the FLB forum comparing guy's asses, I would have thought them drunk or crazy or both. Then this morning, here it is. Strange time we live in! Cheers
-
Tequila Reef always has a buffet and Superbowl party every year. The only trouble is the food is poor and I got sick both times I ate their buffet. I imagine other sports bars might have it but don't know where for sure. But why is this in the Trip Reports section? Cheers

Baht bus drivers overcharging?
irishman replied to Mescalito's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Loke BigDusa, I never relinquish a bill to a driver until I see that he is making change for the bill. Always have my arm in the window and if he is slow about making change, say " Thawn krap" which is the polite way to ask for change. Cheers -
Another newbie, wanted to say hello
irishman replied to deanjames's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Definitely too young to be coming to Pattaya. Hell, it will spoil you for the ladies in any other country except maybe the Philippines. By all means stay away until you are at least 20 or 30 years older! Cheers -
Stamboy, My question for you is if you are tired of the topic, why did you start yet another thread on the topic. If you stop supplying fodder, it will go away on it's own. Cheers

While the slow season is basically from Songran to Loy Katrong, or April to November, that is not always the cheapest time to travel. At least in the States, the airfares go up in the summer no matter where you are going. Cheers

What you all Think Of The BELLA VILLA?
irishman replied to IRON_JOCK_STRAP's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Usually you come into Pattaya on Highway 3, which is also called Sukhimvit Road. And yes, it is the same Sukhimvit that goes under part of the Skytrain in Bangkok. Please do a search on your hotel. I see atleast 2 other posts on the Bella Villa on the same page you posted this! Cheers -
I'm not sure why we think that we should be able to buy something cheaper in Thailand. Any sophisticated electronic device can be purchased cheaper at home where there is price competition. Not many Thais can afford the high priced stuff that we take for granted. I did a comparison a couple of years ago about digital cameras and laptop computers. I priced the same models in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpor, and Bangkok and wound up buying the same things on the Internet in the States for about 30% cheaper! Cheers

AUA offers a continuing program of English instruction for Thais. But the lady has to have finished grade Mo 3 before she will be accepted. Fairly cheap and well structured. Office in the big building on the corner of 2nd road and Pattaya North ( sometimes refered to as the dolphin roundabout ). Same building as that which has a Kiss restaurant on the corner. Walk back inside the mall on the first floor which paralles Pattaya north and it's about half way down on the right. The big white board can be obtained from an office supply store that is between Foodland and Sukhimvit on Pattaya Klang ( Pattaya Cental ). Located on the north side of the street and about half way between. It's on a corner but I don't rember the name of the cross street. Tesco, etc only have the small boards. The books can be had at either AUA or practially any bookstore in Pattaya. The DB Bookstore at the corner of Beach Road and Pattaya Central usually has a good selection. Cheers
-
You just have got to love this board! RAFLMFAO! Cheers

Once had a problem because I didn't look at the bag check I was handed but when she only gave me one boarding pass, I knew that she had made a mistake. She thought I was breaking my trip in Taipei and that would have presented problems. Always check and double check everything you get or you could be stuck! Cheers

That's like saying that everyone should spend a night in jail. Helps to build character! Cheers

want to rent...or to buy
irishman replied to elhinekahla's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
For what you are planning on spending, you are not going to get much. I think you need to increase your budget a bit to get something you can live with. Cheers -
There is an inside badminton court just west of the junction of Soi 17 and Third Road. This is the part of Third Road that curves around to meet up with Pratumnak road. Soi 17 is the stoplight between the junction of Third Road and Pattaya South and where it turns in to the elevated stretch. I have never been inside so I don't know if it has aircon or not but if not, why would they bother to enclose it? Yes, I know TIT so logic doesn't apply! Cheers
-
I'm lost! What the hell is this thread about and why the hell is it in the Technical section? Seriously, I'm curious! Cheers

torrenova, I didn't say that Malaria was present in Pattaya per say but in Thailand, especially near the border with Cambodia. To me that isn't that far and I am always more careful when going to Koh Chang for example. If you choose not to believe, then that's up to you but you might want to readthis first: http://www.cdc.gov/travel/regionalmalaria/seasia.htm Cheers
-
I agree with Soi 7. You are reading the FLB forum, why not stop by and meet some of the folks that are contributing to it. Besides, MM needs more new punters to come here and pay the increased barfines. Cheers
-
It's OK and nice when you want something with two rooms but I don't see paying double what something like the Flippers charge. Especially since it is a LOOONG walk to FLB or the action. Cheers
-
Diana Inn, just across Soi Diana from Kiss on Second Road has a morning and evening buffet also. In the same price range as the Lek. Cheers
-
Have a friend who stayed there on his last trip to Pattaya and liked it very much. Had no complaints. Cheers
-
It's never a good idea to compete in the job market with Thais. It's illegal without a work permit which requires an OA Visa and the Thais don't like it and will report you in an eyeblink! Cheers

Pattaya is used to the casual vacationer. If you go to the back country or to the Wats, long pants and at least a polo shirt are the minimum. Only lower classes or laborers fail to wear shirts or wear shorts. I usually wear long pants at night because it give a better impression to the ladies and also, there is Malaria present in Thailand, which is more apparent during the rainy season (ie. NOW ) Cheers
