The PCX is a little bigger, BUT, not that much bigger. Maybe it's a good thing that they won't park it with the mopeds. You may get a better space for just a little grease.

I have to remember to look at the Original post date.

I live upcountry out in the boonies. The main dangers here are cattle, chickens, dogs and kids. I still ride once in a while up here. The motorbike we now have is a 125 Suzuki Best. She sold a 100 Honda wave when she got the Suzuki. She got 25,000 baht for it. It wasn't worth 25,000 baht but it was a 1,000 down and 1,000 a month. The buyer didn't get the book until it was paid off. The kid never missed a payment. BahtSold and Udonmap normally have a LOT of small motorcycles for sale by farangs. You can sort the available ones by region. Just make sure you make sure the book is legal and wh

I don't know what it means, but testing both Firefox and Chrome browsers, nothing shows up. Maybe my antivirus programs prevent this. I am using the free Avast and MSE side by side. They seem to work well together. MSE recognizes Avast. I am using Win 7 Pro.

I really liked Chrome but it crashed far too often. Firefox was my default browser but it is getting big and bloated not to mention slower. Last week I downloaded the latest Beta Chrome and have had no crashes so far. I have now changed Chrome to my default browser. The Chrome Ad Blocker works great and a new email notifier (X-Notifier) that works properly has recently been released. Since I now trust Chrome, I went ahead and installed the latest Beta version of Firefox. It is better and seems to work quite well but Chrome is much faster. If I had a good Internet provider, Firefox would still

I was born and raised in Ohio. I moved away from there in 1988 and have not looked back.

You must be careful trying to use two antivirus programs. Many don't work well together. I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials with no problems since I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro. Since then I have discovered that Avast works well with MSE and I have both installed. Avast found no problems during the first deep scan and I can't see any affect on the speed of my computer. MSE recognizes Avast.

Unfortunately a good Internet connection is needed. This is Thailand and even decent connections are few and far between especially if you live in the country and not in a major city. -
So, Is Pattaya Better for you, Worse, or the same?
Gary replied to Barrief's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
A low life farang is one who can't handle his booze. He is aggressive, loud mouthed, obnoxious and rude. He is the type of customer who costs the bars money by running out decent customers. The girls avoid these kinds of customers and that makes them act even worse. -

Unfortunately the best days are gone. Yes, it was better 6 or 7 years ago. The exchange rates have made things much more expensive but I think maybe the main problem is that the quality of the whore-mongers has gone WAY down. Due to the scammers, beggars and general low life farangs, the girls have gotten harder and more mercenary. In the good old days the "HOW MUCH" question was rarely asked. The girls trusted that you would pay a reasonable price and that they would be rewarded for a better performance than was expected. The GFE was normal rather than the exception. -
My last job while working in California provided prescription drugs. A blood pressure drug, an ace inhibitor cost me a co-payment of $20 a month. Alopurinol for gout was also $20 a month. When I retired and moved to Thailand, I found out that the ace inhibitor cost me 300 baht or about $10 for 100 foil wrapped tablets. The alopurinol cost me 600 baht for 1,000 tablets or about $20. The drug companies and the insurance companies are obviously in bed together and they are both thieves.

Ban Suan Lalana, Soi Chaiyapruk Jomtien. About one kilometer on the right from the Beach Road.

Have I got a map? If you are serious about buying a unit especially for resale, you would do your homework yourself. Location and security are important items, maybe the most important. Lanana has great security and since it is located in a very large complex with many houses, it is quiet. No dogs barking and no roosters crowing. As I mentioned, this is not a fire sale. The monthly maintenance fee is a very reasonable 10 baht per square meter. That makes mine 600 baht per month. The maintenance fund runs a surplus and is very healthy. Electric is directly billed from the power company so no ri

I have a 60 square meter corner unit in Ban Suan Lalana, Soi Chaiyapruk Jomtien. These are low rise units (five stories). Mine is maybe the best located in the complex. It is unit TA 320. (Third story) That's the first building and overlooks the swimming pool. It has a separate bedroom with a large balcony and a separate air conditioner. It is fully furnished. It is leased to a friend of mine and his lease will finish in January. He plans to move to Chiang Mai. I have not been in the unit for more than three years so have no idea what it now looks like. I live upcountry and really don't wa

Get Panda Cloud Antivirus Pro for free
Gary replied to bigdelta's topic in Technical problems or questions.
I do use MSE and have now downloaded and installed Panda. I was concerned that there may be conflicts but it looks like MSE and Panda are working together with no problems. If Panda gives good protection I will likely renew when the free one year subscription expires. So far it just stays hidden and that's the way I like it to work. Time will tell. Thanks for the information. -
There is a HUGE difference between expat mode and holiday mode. I live upcountry and live exactly as I want. I definitely don't live on a budget. Whatever it cost, that's what it costs. There is only my wife and I and we don't pay any rent. That said, we spend no more than 30,000 baht per month. I do take occasional trips to Pattaya/Jomtien. I go there by myself and although I am not a bell ringer I do everything I want to do. I average about 5,000 baht per day on these trips including a decent hotel room. Pattaya is definitely no longer cheap. Guys who go to Pattaya thinking they can

I had a Kawasaki Boss when I lived in Jomtien. Eventually I decided that Pattaya was way to dangerous to ride in. After a couple of minor mishaps in Jomtien, I sold the bike. The close calls were TOO close and I considered myself lucky to have escaped alive. I think that anyone that rides in Pattaya has a death wish. As we say here in the Kingdom, UP TO YOU.

Htc Desire/hd2 Or I-phone 4/3gs ?
Gary replied to LocalYokul's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Nothing wrong with having both. I had thought that I could get by with just the phone and left my rather heavy laptop at home. As for using my phone in the US, I bought a pay as you go ATT SIM card. A bit expensive. 100 minutes and the registration for about $67 dollars. The time works out to $.25 a minute. Internet data is also $.25 a minute. The greedy bastards charge you for incoming as well as outgoing calls. WiFi is all over the place and I am able to connect at my mother's house using someone's connection. The phone also has a pretty good WiFi connection. The net book is only a -
Htc Desire/hd2 Or I-phone 4/3gs ?

I'm now in the US and decided that the phone just wasn't going to cut it. It does everything but the 3 inch screen is just too small. I went out today and bought an HP Mini net book. The net book for $300 is a much better buy than an over priced phone. -
Traffic lights WOULD work. Just think of those lights as another way for the police to make more money. You can bet there will be police watching all the time.

Htc Desire/hd2 Or I-phone 4/3gs ?
Gary replied to LocalYokul's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Actually the battery life is pretty impressive. After three days of heavy playing, it still had 29 percent life left. I don't know about the beep because I have never heard it. I do know now that a touch screen smart phone will never be my everyday phone. Great for checking email when traveling but my cheap long battery life phone will always be in my pocket. The only advantage I can see for a touch screen is that the screen is much bigger and it is much easier to reply to emails. -

Bump - I found a guy who had a Windows 6.5 phone. I bought it for a very good price. It is an LG GM250 that came from the UK. It had a UK charger which isn't a big deal. It also won't recognize Thai language which doesn't bother me either. It is a touch screen and it has a 3 inch screen which isn't big enough. The phone will do everything an iPhone 4 will do. It took me a lot of time to get it set up. Maybe that's why most people hate Windows phones. I'm talking many hours to figure it out. I think the guy who had it couldn't figure out how to use it. Nothing was set up and most options didn't -
Anyone stupid enough to leave 5 million baht in dormant accounts for four years apparently wasn't concerned about that money and deserves to lose it.

For those who have serious questions, keep in mind that there are no hard, fast or firm rules within Thailand. Each immigration office is different and then each official puts his own spin on the requirements. I once tried to explain and even showed that asshole official the rules that I had printed out. The guy got pissed off at me and still hassles me because I questioned him. That was several years ago. His reply to the printed rules was to throw then back at me and tell me he has his own rules. Rule number one is that there are no official rules. Do what the official asks and NEVER arg

I don't have the HTC HD2 yet but from reading the reviews, HTC has customized many of the WinMo controls and WinMo haters say that it is now usable.
