  1. I looked at this in Sept 2004 and the only "drawback" I could find was the returm appointments at 1 week, 1 month, 6 months and 1 year. So if you were to do it in Pattaya, I suppose your last 3 return visit would have to be done at home with another Doctor. One thing they did require was a blood test for HIV. This had to be done 3 months prior to the surgery. http://www.bph.co.th/pages/lasikcenter.html
  2. It's out of my price range, but here are the reviews... http://www.pattayapages.com/reviewpost/sho...=7&cat=6&page=1
  3. Try this thread and see if it helps your search.. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10701

  7. RG is in that range, since you have a car...You can book a room on via this website
  8. That name sounds familiar, it could be. I met a Ray at the Queen Vic last week
  9. http://www.lordnelsonpattaya.com/homeframeset.htm I've added this to the Hotel Review section for those who might want to stay there.
  10. The Queen Vic and room F2 has a great balcony for watching the action.... http://www.queenvictoria-inn.com/rooms.htm
  11. I was by there on Sept 9th and had a chance to look at the rooms. There are 3 floors with some difference in types of rooms. I liked room #9 on the 3rd floor as it had a balcony {facing Soi 6} Looked like a King sized bed in that room with nice shower and plenty of storage space for clothes. {DVD player and fridge} As soon as I get unpacked I'll find there business card and post a website. I liked the place and it's location {Soi 6 Yodsak}
  12. Your only problem with using SWA/JetBlue to make a connection is that you can NOT check any luggage to the final destination {BKK}, as these carriers do not have interline agreements with other major carriers. Give yourself some extra time to claim your luggage and re-check it on the one taking you to BKK....Now if they lose your luggage {SWA/JetBlue}, you will play hell getting them to send it to BKK for you. As far as prices going up, looks like the cheap seats are sold out....I got EVA for Jan 2005 @ $624 {USD} out of LAX, but I bought in June 2004...{coach}
  13. http://www.tigerairways.com/ I couldn't get in, since the server was always too busy...This is the newest of the low fare airlines in Thailand..
  14. Use the hotel booking on this site, as the prices are good...
  15. Most of the websites for the Lek Hotel were agencies, but I have an E-Mail address from there business card.. lek_hotel@hotmail.com To each his own, but with many a Baht Bus close to the action is only minutes away
  16. Looked at a room about 2 yrs. ago and it was not a nice sight...
  17. You may want to check this one out for him... http://www.pattayacity.com/ritz/index.html http://www.pattaya-thailand.org/pattaya_rent.html 24 Hour room service is going to be hard, but there are more than enough food stands around to ease that requirement. I was trying to find one in the low end of his budget .
  18. Stay the night at the Nana Hotel and take the bus in the morning...
  19. If I was going to spend a week looking, I'd base myself out of the Apex Hotel for 500 Baht/night. The Lek Hotel did re-model and has been charging higher since it was complete. That 99 Baht breakfast at the Apex will do you till the late afternoon Good Luck on your searching as I'm all for a man who likes to save pounds on vacation.
  20. I was going to stay at the Dynasty in BKK and they wanted a CC # for a deposit via a fax. I passed due to the numerous reports of cloning and I E-Mailed them back with that reason.
  21. bigmofo.. Take a look at this place... http://www.pattayacity.com/ritz/index.html
  22. Last time I was there {Jan 2004}, the best rate was the no commission places, I'll be there in Sept 2004 and do a cross-check comparison to see if that still applies
  23. http://www.queenvictoria-inn.com/diary.htm This is more information about Lord Nelson and how to make a reservation, it's owned by Bert of the Queen Victoria Inn {next door}. I'll be there in about 20 days and will ask Bert how the plans are going.
