  1. Koh Samui is a very unique airport, I didn't mind paying 400 baht for the usage fee...
  2. I'm glad the Off Topic Section is gone and I hope it never returns..IMHO
  3. I bought 3 this last trip and have one {Cold Mountain} which freezes up 3/4 of the way through the show, but the other 2 are okay. It's hit-n-miss with some of them. Last year I bought 4 and they all did the skip/freeze thing in my DVD player..
  4. The Dynasty Inn in Pattaya is nice and new {Aug 2003}, do a combo with it in BKK and your ride is free..
  5. AS long as the plane gets there, it really doesn't matter which carrier you take. If the price is good, go for it... I used NWA on my last trip and it was the worst customer service, I've ever encountered
  6. Guys... Just keep posting and your status will change...There is never a stupid question, just a stupid answer..
  7. I bought 5 DVD's and all of them seem to have a "snag" while watching...Plays good, then stops for a brief moment, then continues. It does get annoying.....
  8. Stiffler... I'm going to try the train on my next trip...It does leave at 07:10 AM and gets in Pattaya at 10:37 AM, for about 140 Baht...Leaves from Makkasan Station...I know that it's hard to get up at 05:30 AM and get a taxi to the station, but I think the train ride will be a fun one....I've gotten tired of the bus and I wanted to try something different...It's on the Eastern Line, if you care to know http://www.pattayabeach.com/travel_info/tr...portations.html
  9. I'll be there late next week...If you haven't gotten any response by the 20th of Jan...IM me your E-mail address and I'll talk to Bert about it for you..
  10. No pool, but a nice place...750 Baht gets the big room and 550 gets the small one.. www.queenvictoria-inn.com
  11. Queen Victoria Inn http://www.queenvictoria-inn.com/home.htm
  12. Hammer... You can book directly with Bangkok Airways via this link... http://www.bangkokair.com/index.htm {click on All Flight Booking} They do have a secure server and Credit Cards are accepted, and an E-Mail is sent to you when the process is complete. Then an E-Ticket is issued. There prices were cheaper than other travel websites..
  13. I had MAJOR problems in Jan 2003, trying to acess AOHELL, it took many a min {10}, to get to my E-Mail page... I got a new server, but do expect similar problems because of the dial-up-modem
  14. I'm staying here as an "alternative" www.queenvictoria-inn.com Bert {owner} is a great guy and runs a good place...
  15. Fonz...It doesn't look to be in the "Gay Area" ...But my memory isn't that good about this Hotel... Give Hilly an IM, since he lives in Pattaya and probably can tell you more about it..?
  16. Well.....For the "true" Bangkok experience, you gotta stay at the Nana Hotel.....I say I'll never stay there again, but I do everytime I go...Just something about that place...
  17. Joop....Yes, by all means lets get 2 leagues going next year. One with a draft would be very fun also...I know Yahoo has leagues like that {free} and I'd be joining any league you want to start.. Your doing very good in that College Football Mania League, but there are many games to go... I'll be in town in late Jan 2004 and would enjoy meeting you and the family. I need some of your valuable advice on the TG's , as mine is wanting to do what your and the wife just did a couple of months ago... Would enjoy taking you and the family out for a dinner/drinks and getting some valuabl
  18. JohnUK...It was all in fun and you are a very good sport...Wished I could find a "football league" for the Europeans to enjoy....I'd not participate, but I'm sure others would enjoy it... I've found a link if your interested in getting a league... http://soccernet.fantasyleague.com/app/int...o/howtoplay.asp
  19. Yes........John UK did very good for a season total, but did accumulate a debt of 13,000 Baht for the weekly total...I assumed the USA debt of 4,000 Baht... Money will be donated on my upcoming trip in Jan 2004, this is for the Pattaya Orphanage. It was a fun thing to do and I hope more will participate during the 2004 season, as I will post the link and get things started for all... Any Baseball Fans...? There is an ESPN League that is a daily thing and requires active participation..I'd be glad to start it in March 2004..
  20. Anyone tried this flight to Koh Samui...? I booked it for $125/per person in Feb 2004... Where is the airport in Pattaya and is it easy to get to/from..?
  21. Had a friend stay there and he was very unhappy with his room...Seemed to be really "rundown"..I haven't heard anything about a new wing, but I'd hope they would renovate the older section also..
  22. Gabor...I found it to be an interesting website and did bookmark it for future use....
  23. I "think" I understand it partyanimail, it is a hard process to explain... I can go in/out to a Money Market Fund , which is like a savings account..I sell on a good day and put it back into Money Market at a set price and buy back on a bad day...
  24. Just from what I'm being told second hand...Go 1st class and do the daytrip, if you want to see the countryside...
  25. I've got only one Intl Fund {Putnam} and they do allow the in/out trading as you describe...Seems Putnam has been is a "rut" as of late {2 years} , rarely going above $20/share... Just made $2500 from a trade withing the T Rowe Price Small Cap, which has been awesome this year. I'll watch the Intl Funds as they did jump in 1998 or 1999 an amazing 60% return. But since then it's been all downhill...
