Please Please Please ! UK (England, Scotland,Wales & N.Ireland) are not in the WC & do not play as a collective. GB (England, Scotland & Wales) are not in the WC & do not play as a collective. England however are in the WC (how long for is another story). My Betfair account is presently @ £00.07 & hopefully will improve after Wed when England wake up and play some decent football. Good post Andrew but if I can access my 2 main betting sites in UK ( Skybet & Betfair ) from LOS, am I violating the Thai betting regulations ? I have been betting in Pattaya on my trips for a few years now via internet without any hassle so far. A lot of my bets (non internet) especially footy have been a shake of hands before kickoff & settle up after, winner usually gets the next round I still enjoy golf / footy bets on my internet account from LOS, enhances the experience & little chance of government interference cheers rogero :banghead

hi Londoner I use both Betfair & Skybet when in Pattaya for Golf betting but more for the footy. As Skybet say it matters more when you've got a bet on the action. Neither Betfair or Skybet sites are barred in Thailand & I regularly have a bet on the footy before leaving my apartment on my way to Soi Boukow/Soi Diana to take in the late night footy action in one of the bars, Sheer enjoyment with several Songsam/lipos & a SML chaser and a juicy burger bar close by. Hi bat fink I admire your altitude & spirit after that kick in the teeth from jarvis. I was going to recommend Metro Apartments (good monthly rates esp low season) but they are very popular & at short notice unlikely to have vacancies but anywhere in LK Metro area is good. Study the hotel & accommodation section here for good advice. Hope you take the plunge for your 1st trip to pattaya. (BTW you'll be back!) Hi all you can download the latest catalogue from Qatars website including prices for Doha. Seems one of the cheapest around. B&H ciggies are $14/200 & currently Doha duty free has a special 1000 cig pack for the price of 800. Wasn't stopped at Gatwick customs a few weeks ago with this pack but last December was stopped with 600 cigs but just cautioned. Tried to get booze at LHR DF on outward flight but got knocked back when I showed my transit airport was Doha. cheers rogero

I was watching this game at a bar on soi diana & had a hefty bet on villa on betfair. Half time with villa down 2-0 I decided to drown my sorrows & started on the sangsom/lipo. One of the regular bgs spotted me & joined me for a while. I asked why she was in bar as she was an afternoon shift girl. She said yesterday was her birthday & a guy from leeds called sam had got her pissed, she was feeling no pain & I had a great bit of craic with her. I bought her a drink & then she staggered off to be with sam again. I settled down again to watch the rest of the match

I noticed recently after arriving in BKK around 1930 that after clearing emigration (40 min) & before collecting baggage there was signs for anyone going on to other places including Phuket so I assume your baggage would be automatically diverted to your final destination. Customs clearance would also be there. I know there is an evening flight to Phuket about 2100 from BKK which fitted in nicely with my arrival time. (Qatar QR610). My driver was still waiting for me at the arrivals gate even though I was quite late after a huge queue at immigration. Tiny little lady I assumed to be Meow but she was called Pet, When she noticed I was getting into the front seat she glanced at my ample belly & pushed the seat back as far as it would go ! She spoke good English & was very amusing but after calling her Pet all the way to Pattaya I felt like born again Geordie ! cheers rogero

I used their online booking form & had a very prompt confirmation with full details of meeting place (usual arrivals gate 3) & comment "Sent from my iPhone" Someone else (Dontcha I think) mentioned B1000 all inclusive, I expect this refers to toll charges etc !) @B1000 the price is good compared to my last trip where taxi ordered thru my accommodation was B1300 & the driver tried to sting me for tolls! cheers rogero

I was saddened to hear about this earlier today. He was the voice of British rugby on the BBC for so long & I was always amazed at his unbiased commentary, as he was obviously passionate about rugby in general & Scottish rugby in particular.
