My condolences. My hatred of Delta knows no limits. Surly stewardesses only a little larger than a Holstein.

JFK to ICN in Asiana's First Class- UPDATED June 14, 2014
Harvey replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Airline Discussion
Wow, really nice pics. I'm a fan of the ANA First Class Suite (they call it their "square" on their 777-300.). But it's not on all their flights and not offered from here in DC (IAD). So I always route myself from DCA to ORD to catch it. You picture of the little container of caviar reminds me of flying ANA. Got another trip coming in a couple of months, as soon as I can get this one project off them ground. Can't wait. Thanks for the ongoing photos and reports, Evil. -

Malaysian Air Flight 370 is missing (Boeing 777-200)
Harvey replied to short's topic in Airline Discussion
Reuters has Malaysian, Italian, and Austrian officials saying that the passports used were stolen. I'm not sure if Thai officials are as culpable as Malaysian agents at the airport. Or, if the stolen passports were not in the system, that's the problem -

You hate to jump to conclusions, but some media outlets reporting that two passports, stolen in Thailand, were used to board the plane. One man, who had his passport stolen last August (and reported the theft to authorities) was ousted on the passenger manifest but confirmed on holiday in Thailand. A second passport, stolen in Thailand two years ago, was used to board the plane. He's Austrian and Austrian police have apparently made contact with him and he's alive. What are the random chances that two passports, stolen in different occasions, would be illegally used on the same fli -
April Suites or August Suites...anyone been there?
Harvey replied to Harvey's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Yeah, I will be over in a bit. Thought it was time to swap out to try something new. Areca is sort of my go to, but you need new surroundings once in a while. Probably booking myself into one of the executive suites city view rooms next month. I will post photos. -

Great photos, as usual. You have a keen eye, Patna. -
Do you have a preference what time you fly?
Harvey replied to MCCREADY8's topic in Airline Discussion
ANA will be starting a Haneda to BKK route that leaves like at 10:50 and arrives about 3:30 in the afternoon. Inasmuch as my visits to Ptty usually come after business in Tokyo, this is a good thing. O'Dark hundred departures or arrivals suck. If you're already in Tokyo, Haneda is easier to get to than narita. Bonus is that I miss the old and bitter flight attendants on United that staff the long haul trans-Pacific flights. If you're coming from the states, or wherever, and can arrange your inbound flight to connect to this ANA flight, that would be a decent option. -
Just FYI - Late April mid-week departures from DC area (either IAD or BWI) to BKK and return mid-week are $1,081. The cheapest fare I've seen on UAL.com for a while.

Ah - I think the issue is that I'm going during low season (August). You are going during high season. Let us know what their reply is to your last email. Harv

Hotels offering FREE Nights????
Harvey replied to andy617's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Free like in stay 6 nights get the 7th free? I think Pattaya Bay Resort does that. -
For stays in the one bedroom suite, it's 60% off of the rack rate of 4,500/night. At least that's what Tong says via email. Check with Martin via PM to see of the FLB rate is cheaper (see pinned topic, top of this page). Apparently, they didn't give Martin a price sheet for the Renaissance. Tong's email is fo_renaissance@lkpattaya.com

Pete, see you in a couple of weeks. I'd be happy to buy you a drink or three. Your operation looks good - and I've run 4 different food/beverage joints in my past. P.S. I really like the idea of a blog on your website, but so far I'm the only guy who's left comments. Hopefully, that'll change at some point in the future. Harv

Just FYI - a number of replies. I can always get a FF ticket from United. Secret is to screw the on-line booking system and call the agents over the phone. I'm a 1K traveler, so perhaps that helps. Coming on May 30th and buring 120K miles for a First Class flight from Washington, DC to BKK and back. ------------- Back to the OP. I did a Sidestep search and found a $980 rate via China Airlines on the dates you wanted (June 9-24).

Every time I see a post about 100 baht, I think about ROLAND. ROFLMAO -
Dude, edit the title of this thread to read: "Taxi Share, Jan 8 (10 p.m.)" so everyone doesn't have to open this thread if they're not arriving on your date.

Damn. A Waffle House in Pattaya would be great. Steak and eggs. Eggs over easy, steak medium, hash brown smothered. Black coffee. That's just great at 5:30 a.m. after a night out with the guys.

^ Thanks for the update on the "service dog" issue, Martin. I had been wondering what had happened on that. I would have told the EVP of UAL that I would happily trade in (and not accept) the upgrade certificate if UAL had put in its computer system a blacklist of that lady so that every UAL employee at every airport was alerted to not fall for her story ever again.

I'm a big fan of the UA frequent flyer program too, Emil. I like the automatic upgrade to Economy Plus. I can usually get a saver award if I'm patient over the phone (the on-line award booking sucks, though). Now, if we could only get United to upgrade the stewardesses, we'd be onto something.

Works fine for me as of 10:35 a.m. (New York Time), November 26th. Sound (which is music that I mute anyway) and pics. Also, the sister cam at the Rockhouse is working too. Looks pretty slow there, but the lighting is bad for a webcam -- too dark. Can only really see the entrance and punters' legs as they walk by. Anyway, regarding being seen on a webcam. To give anyone an idea about the scope of the risk. As I type these words there were: 11 total people watching the Noi's Bar webcam. 2 total people (including me) on the Rockhouse webcam. Not too big of a risk for anyone
