Durex condoms crap here lately.
monochromeman replied to Usexpat's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
i bought some from Boots Pattaya once [normally have own from UK] and the fecker wouldn't fit. Rolled a new one out and compared with UK one. Slightly smaller in length but MUCH smaller on the girth. I've had the won't roll problem from Thai Durex too. I gave up the and there. That was years ago. -
Pattaya flooding again ?
monochromeman replied to Idefix's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Well that's they're going out together, anyway. Although there's that awful black american new/er useage too. eg "Hey girlfriend" said from one female to another [who aren't fucking]. It just means friend who is female [the way Gabor used it]. That useage hasn't reached male to female though. i don;t think. -
IT's not THAT bad. not bad at all in fact. i like the buakhao area.

Zico's Brazilian Bar-B-Q Beach Road Pattaya
monochromeman replied to tequilareef's topic in Restaurants and food
No. I'm normally good at remembering what threads i posted on as i'm not prolific in posting. But I get reminders of any threads I posted on sent to my email. They used to go in the inbox and serve to jog my memory. Now they're going into spam instead of inbox which i've only just realised. -

you did indeed [just seen this reply. it had been filed in my spam folder.bah] take seems more appropriate that go which doesn't seem the right verb, though, to me anyway. i did intend to put a smiley next to that line. never mind -
Remember in Blazing Saddles where they build a copy of their town which is about to be destroyed? Probably too late for that as town is being destroyed already. Maybe set up a New Pattaya close by.

agree with everything bar the bit i've bolded. these areas AREA more representative [but the powers that be are intent on seeing that they won't be. And will succeed i think, sadly]

Polish birds in Bermondsey se london have driven prices down. if you're happy with east euro birds no need to leave london

that wasn't the OP's argument though. Your argument would lead to go go bars rather than bia bars [steak rather than bacon and eggs] The OP is arguing for something other than food.

i think that was a long time ago. 10+ yrs. even then it was pricey and mafia ridden.

Zico's Brazilian Bar-B-Q Beach Road Pattaya

I'd try this place. 900b is ok if it's decent. wouldn't eat there every night but yes 3 or 4 times over a 2-3 wk vacation i worry about the thai meat quality and the thais treatment of it. -

well... were forcibly taken there. I doubt many chose it as a holiday destination. Voodoo is still practiced there [brought from Africa] More African slaves ended up in S America than anywhere else. I THINK. Might have this wrong. Portuguese slave trade. Hence they speak Portuguese. So you still see very dark skinned obviously african DNA - ed women in Brazil. Presumably ones who did not intermix. of ones who did, the Brazilian "mixed" arse is african DNA + [the + being whatever race they combined with]. So is the kinesthetic skill [dancing, shaking, sexing] which africans -
i stopped eating there in the 90's. food was bland at best, barely edible at worst. bad thai food? you must have to try hard to do that. prawn fried rice. even i can make that. how do you make it bland? and the portions were small. they must've had a chef change in that time yet still get bad reviews. walk a bit further in any direction and be guaranteed tasty food. last time i walked past with a BG she said she got sick from eating there and was cursing the place.

Would you bring your uk girlfriend to pattaya
monochromeman replied to aarmitage9's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
well i did this once. well twice i think. first time we did bkk which was fine and went upto Surin which was fine. And the PTY which was a disaster. I couldn't leave the bleedin hotel room w/out her following me. not even nipping down to reception for a beer. 'that woman in the travel agent next door is giving you the eye" etc etc. Worst time I've ever had. next time was just for a week or so when i was in PTY for 3 months. that was a nice break from TG's. [edit: oh and mine knew i'd been coming here for yrs and what goes on. but actually seeing it herself up close changed her atti -

Beware Eastiny Residence/ thief,s
monochromeman replied to easy going's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
might have told this before but will again. i once took my stuff from a hotel behind counter safety box and when i got up to my room opened my passport and some paper flew out and across the floor. looked like a foreign exchange receipt. but i never keep mine. picked it up and sure enough, opened it, it was some other bloke's. he'd cashed t/c's on a day i'd never done and of a denomination i wasn't carrying. i had my t/c, passport and cash in the box. t/c were untouched. cash and 1000's and 500's were untouched. i never note 100's and lower so who knows. -
I once saw a bucket full of water being thrown at a fast travelling bike on beach rd during songkran. Not just the water but the actual bucket with the water in it. Incredible! Fortunately it missed and the bucket, now empty, went bouncing across the road and traffic behind missed it. And a drain cover being lifted up, on beach rd, and a water gun tube being lowered inside to siphon off the [v dirty] water. so be careful. I'd never get on a bike during songkran. just walk round taking fotos with all valuables sealed up. look forward to seeing them lads.

It seems a lot of westerners automatically assume it's a face thing even when it's just a money thing. I've noticed this over the years. Probably because they have this "Thailand is a face culture" stuff drummed into them. I also notice the way face is talked about as though it's exclusively a Thai or at least asian thing. It's not. Face is a part of English culture. And probably other European countries, too.

I met him as I stayed at skytop once. I didn't like the accommodation but he was fine. Surprised anyone would think he was English. He had an obvious Aussie accent [i'm English]. I'm always a bit knocked back when anyone I've met passes on.

I didn't know that. either before my time or i took a different route (: my regular BF worked at bunny bar [soi 9/beach rd complex] and was still friendly with the mama at sailor. and her sister still worked there. so my walk was bunny bar to sailor. easy. The soi 9 complex was excellent. I remember a welsh guy who'd sit in the afternoon at a bar with most customer. then he'd deliberately go and sit at a bar with no or few customers near the beach rd front to make up the numbers. sure enough people would start sitting down. then he'd move to the next empty bar and attract some customer

Yes. My "artwork" from there - my name plus hearts etc - on a large sheet of paper [NOT painted by hand if you get my drift] was hung on my wall for yrs. Wish I'd kept it.

Tim Bar, beach rd [later she opened the go go on 2nd rd]. This was a long bar with a nice sea breeze if you were lucky, overhead fans and tv screens for the sport. And enough girls to barfine. I really enjoyed drinking there [save when it was rammed wen football was on] It changed hands and name. One of the later owners altered something so the bartop wasn't at arm rest height anymore when you sit down. That was enough to put me off. The girls went downhill, too. LB's started hanging out there. And it was effectively dead.
