The popular places listed above are excellent... But let me throw in a different one... Ninja... The seafood selection is pretty good and it is all you can eat... All the usual thai seafood and shellfish from whole fish, thai rock lobsters, prawns, shrimps, muscles, multiple types of clams, crabs, etc This is in addition to the normal thai bbq and prepared food selection normally available... At 400b... it beats out the 1-2k you'll be shelling out (see what I did there lol) at the seafood places... Downside (if you consider this a down side...) you'll have to cook it yourse

BUDGET FARANG MEALS: 99bt specials, Malee S. Honey, your faves?
Saddic replied to capdagde's topic in Restaurants and food
No... it probably was really Jelly fish... it is an Asian dish (see link)... usually served as a cold appetizer.... http://www.food.com/recipe/sesame-jellyfish-with-chili-sauce-330492 For eel & liquor... only place I've seen it is next to Little India (across from Pappagoyo) Soi Diana... You can see it from Cherry Bar... -
Thanks for the warning..

Exactly... Have a look at the Tiger Air website... (it's Singapore based and the website is pretty good btw...)... everything is a'la carte... I booked a flight from BKK-SIN... (saved about $100 over Thai...) Much the same restrictions... but since I knew what I wanted... and what to expect... it was pretty easy and well explained... I even paid for the option to board first :)

Get used to it... and always READ the ticket rules... The airlines (mainly the US airlines) are gonna nickle and dime you to death...

Here's a comparison site (USD approaching 33.5)... Rates change early and often throughout the day so YMMV... good luck... http://bankexchangerates.daytodaydata.net/default.aspx

"Quality" tourists and Thai's making money... You know better than to get inbetween them... ... and it need not be said that Chinese New Year will be much worse... Happy New Year Martin... -
yes... as do a lot of the supermarkets... Big C Secrets for example... Now... Ginger Beer... I have not found...

Agree... and the food aint bad either... Seriously... For a chain of resturants, their quality and consistancy is top notch... You'll find them in most of the shopping malls throughout LOS... I notice, "some" don't server the after meal fruit, some do... usually the ones in more out of the way malls are more attentive.. Central is a bit below average as they get so many "tourists", they've tended to get complacent...

YMMV... on the front side... forget the sun from now on... and the construction begins 8 and runs sometimes till midnight... On the back side... the construction workers congregate right in front of PBR on the back side making all kinds of racket starting around 7:30am... and their kids make racket all day playing... AND since Centara is using the lot as their dumping ground... heavy trucks go back and forth with obvious racket too... Note you are paying the recently raised HIGH season rates for this privilage... DUST is a problem now coming from both sides... Just watch the ou

Heartily agree...

The one at Central can be hit or miss (depending if there are a group or Russians ahead of you or not)... They take all the plates that come to them on the conveyor belt leaving those downstream with hardly anything until they fill up... They were much better when they first opened a few years ago, but have since moved on to "cheaper" selections... The good thing to know is that their food should be fairly fresh as I think they have quick turn over...

[video] Best Airlines For Redeeming Frequent Flier Miles
Saddic replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
"The era of miles is coming to a close. Really within the next five years we're going to see a change with major frequent flier programs going from earning miles to accrued points based on the fare paid," said Sorensen. As with most of what CNBC reports... a day late and a dollar short... Haven't y'all been paying attention to the rules part of the ticket? The airlines have been doing this for at least 2-3 years now... Look at the class of the ticket (or price vs class)... and you will see that the lower priced tickets either offer 0% miles or some percentage less than 100%... -
Try Big C extra (or any of their other branches)... they have bikes and are pretty reasonably priced..

I've eaten there many times... both lunch & dinner... It's a good change of pace when you want middle eastern food.
