Recent news article about most of the "good" items being planted... Saw "Brandy" in Vegas... was kinda cute (the camera DOES add 10+ lbs... her husband was a dick... so were their entourage and groupies..

The personality and reputation of the owner... Good value... and also the place offers something I can't get at the other 99% of the resturants in the area... let's face it... the ingredients are extremely limited in LOS...and everybody copies successful dishes from others...

I stopped at the place and looked at the menu... more thai-vietnamese leaning towards thai... There is a resturant (Le Saigon) at the top of a hotel just off of Phrataminak Rd... Dang, can't remember the name... It was ok for Vietnamese in Thailand... I have heard that Vientiane has a Vietnamese selection... Haven't tried that yet...

The Jungle is gone.. The pic is of the piledriver and the (i estimate) 15ft pillers they were driving into the ground...

I've seen/heard Soi 8 is really quiet now... so why move? Nature View... do you research... I've heard nothing but bad about that place... YMMV PBR... Construction on the front and back side (read soon)... an avoid for the next 2-3 years... (see the PBR thread)... I usually stay there and am looking for another place too... sigh...

Oh Crap!!! They've just started the piledrivers in the back for the "condos" next door... Gonna be hell on the back side for at least 2 years to come... Combine this with the construction to begin on the front side next month??? Hope you guys like being DP'ed... Noisy is not a sufficent word... I hear each impact right to the core of the building...

you're looking at 1500 in March... so not an option as the poster wanted under 1k... ... and btw: they've changed their policies on payment... they want a credit card on making the reservation and want the entire payment upfront...

I've used them since they began... no problems at all... I am a little concerned when they change in Sept to require payment up front via their web page... Will wait to see how they implement it before deciding...

Montien stopped their buffets a long time ago... Go to the Hilton for their Seafood buffet... (write us a review... I haven't been there...)

Current construction ... between PBR and Areca... in the small lot next to PBR. The next one looks to be in the empty lot next to Areca... eventually... they have a storefront shilling punters to put money down... lol

Just stayed there 1 week then gone 2 weeks, then stayed for another 2 weeks... Damn construction next door... then looks like a big condo complex across soi15 (on the same side)... They start banging away at 9am... sometimes earlier... re: CC As long as the old staff stays, ya should be safe.... no bets if they force the staff out and replace them with "their" people.... re: bkfast If you are a daily payer... breadfast is free for 1 or 2... If you are a monthly renter... you are on your own...

Went to Villa Markets food counter... WTF!!! not 24 hrs any longer... Villa markets now closes at 1am... and most of the (farang) items are no longer on the menu... or XXX'ed off on the overhead signs... Looks like shes on her last legs... Too bad, it was a great place for a late nite snack... Of course McD is still open 24hrs just around the corner...

Went past there yesterday... didn't see the usual Wed specials night specials fliers... Do they still do it?

I can't live without them... on flights all the time... They do a great job of screening out a lot (but not all)of the low vibration noise too... as well as screaming kids... I find that some of the cheaper (eg $20) noise canceling headsets work just as well as the midrange ($100)... (I haven't tried Bo$e ($300) yet)... ... and DAMNIT, I broke my headset on the way over... and can't find a reasonable replacement in PTY...

Looks good, but... Suggest black out curtains... and reliable high speed internet (and if you can have an encrypted port that would be even better) ... and you'll have a very regular customer...

Here's an update... Montien is no longer doing there buffets (Fri/Sat)... so she's dead Jim... Sushi shi in Central & Big C... The Big C one was better IMHO as it was not so crowded and you could actually get items... lol The restocking at Central is kinda slow... (You are "timed" at Sushishi, so availability counts big time... I think they give you 1hr&15 min before they start charging you more) The Steak Buffett is the place farther up on 3rd road... I haven't tried it yet...

This is sage advice folks... Remember: Comparison sites gotta make there money from somewhere... It also pays nowadays to join an airline FF club and use them consistantly... often airlines will run promotions only visible to members... AND READ THE RULES of the flight... mileage (or reduced mileage) may be not be given on the cheaper flights... AND LASTLY (and most importantly) READ THE Airline rules and final price... it may not be what you were expecting! Fricken airline are tacking on FEES for almost everything now... fuel surcharges, baggage fees, seating fees, shitting f
