I have my laptop and I have a bluetooth enable cell phone to connect to the internet. so .... I can take my cell phone and laptop with me anywhere. And connect to the internet anywhere. No setup cost. Need a bluetooth USB adapter (800 baht) AIS first month of internet usage is free. Get the 700 baht package. So, total cost per month for internet/cell phone usage is .... @ 1100 baht (depending on usage) I'm on the internet 6 hours a day, and use my cell phone about 1 hour a day. So, that's some heavy usage ... and not a bad total cost. Remember, the mobility! I can get a foot massage on the beach and be on the internet. I can fuck your TG on Soi 6 while being on the internet (he he he ha ha ha) I can stalk TabMule and post the trip report here before he posts it himself. The Mobility! But, so far, I have only used the internet here in my loom. My cell phone sits here next to my laptop. And I have a USB Keyboard and Mouse and Printer ... so my laptop is really like a real desktop computer. (smiles) Just my 2 baht worth of lame information. Take it or leave it.

I'm afraid to have a TG blow up doll here in Thailand. It might start talking and tell me what I want to hear. Then it will charge me 500 baht per ST. Or, it may be free now but I'll have to pay dearly later. If the blow up doll is in bed with me and my livein, is it considered a threesome? will my livein mind? I just got back from my trip to LOS. My regular phoned me to inform me of the tragic news. and told me there will probably be a post or two on this board about it. my condolences I remember her smile the most. and i liked watching her work no nonsense, fast and efficient

heh I was going to post a cost breakdown. But Sumo beat me to it. and is pretty accurate to the spending i would do as well. Everything you need can be bought in Thailand. My first trip, i brought too much stuff. Second trip ... way too much stuff. Third trip .... finally got it just right. All you really need is a few days change of clothes and minimal bathroom articles. The rest you can buy in Thailand. You'll be amazed on how cheap things are. I have heard of the extreme too. A guy (older guy) arrives at the airport in BKK. No checkin luggage. No carryon luggage. Only arrives with the clothes on his back. He takes a taxi to Pattaya straight out. Buys 2 weeks worth of clothes and bathroom articles. At the end of his 2 weeks, he donates all that he bought to the hotel staff. And he leaves Thailand with the same clothes he arrived in. Gets on the plane with no checkin or carryon luggage. And goes home with a smile on his face.

I've been to Koh Chang twice now. Once in May last year and once in January this year. Both times, used bug spray. Worked nicely. Thing i watched for, first trip was the screen in the bathroom wasn't properly aligned, so in the early morning a few bugs creeped in. Gives ya a shock if you get up to go to the bathroom at 4am and a bug tries to fly into your ear. Corrected that second trip and got a more expensive hotel room. Had a nice ocean view 15 feet from the beach and a nice full length tightly woven screen door. Bathroom was totally enclosed, cept for the circulating fan, but if a bug can get thru a fan at high RPM ... that's a brave bug. But the bug wouldn't get past my foot as it crushes its head. (giggles) bug spray will protect you nicely at night, had dinner on the beach. forgot to use bug spray the first night. was in shorts and sandals bugs decided to have me for dinner bugs ate Farang food that night ever since then, used bug spray. no problems with bugs. no malaria either no dengue fever either

holy moly MH. you had the room next to me. I was there in May. I was at Penthouse Hotel. I had room 418 it was front facing. but still quiet. you can barely barely hear the noise outside with door closed. but after 2am all is quiet. yup yup, until 2pm next day, then the slight noise starts up. It never bothered me. But then again, i liked the noise. I remember just taking a shower and in my towel. waiting for my TG to finish her shower and emerge with her tightly wrapped towel. I wander out onto the balcony sipping a beer from the minibar. The hello girls from Misty's would wave at me, i'd wave at them. They would want me to come down to see them. I point at my towel, they didn't care. then my TG would say "who was that" I say "the hello girls want me" She says "not before i get you first" ;D 44 days till departure

ok. Here's what i know about Champagne Service. I used it last week when i arrived. Limousine is a big car, driver, 2 ladies from Cats a GoGo, cold towels, 2 bottles of champagne. About a 2 hour ride from airport to Penthouse Hotel. To use Champagne Service, you must arrange in advance via a Credit Card. So you have to fax them your CC and they take payment out. Once in car with 2 ladies, hugging giggling, holding hands, light massage, talking, girls speak only a little english so most communication via hand signals. was no sex in the car. all people kept their clothes on. Girls were a bit shy. Checkin Penthouse Hotel, girls go with you to your room. I shower, they shower. Hotel provides 3 towels in advance with no problems. They shy, so lights out. then sex sex sex, switch girl and switch condom, sex sex sex, multiple positions, most anything goes but no anal. oh yeah, covered blowjob. then when finished, you decide which girl stays LT and which goes. LT girl will stay with you till about noon the next day. so there you have it. nice service, but i'd only recommend it if your flight arrives after midnight, since bars are closed at 2am. I will be staying at Penthouse Hotel. I booked with them like 3 months ago. No problems so far. Even when my flight dates changed, i just emailed them and they said my new flight info was OK and they will accomodate me. I arrive May 14 and will be enjoying my room...with a Jacuzzi. 5 days till departure!

As for general Thailand information i have found... "Lonely Planet" : Guide to Thailand. by Joe Cummings and Steven Martin. 9th Edition Published in July 2001. It was very helpful. It'll give you general information about Thailand and its culture. But expect some of the information in it to be a little outdated and some of the prices will have changed as well. Expect that of any book. As for info about Thailand, with an emphasis on the nightlife in Pattaya, i have read... "Money Number One" : The Single Man's Survival Guide to Pattaya. by Neil Hutchison. this book will tell you all about when to come, how to get there, places to stay, safety, money, food, medical facilities, gogo bars, beer bars, massage parlors, freelancers, and the thai experience. "Pattaya" : Patpong on Steroids. by Duncan Stern. covers much of the same but written with first hand knowledge of everything in the book. An interesting read while on the flight over to Thailand. I know many posters here have read these books and can comment on them and whether they liked em or not. 9 days till I return to Pattaya.

as for being served last in certain seats. I have a way around that. All you have to do is make a specialty meal request. like....Kosher meals, low fat, vegetarian. Then, before the flight even takes off they check that all specialty meals are onboard. And people who ordered them get served their meals first. At least, that's what happened to me on my last flight. I hope this info helps. (smiles) 33 days!

checking my passport now from my last trip... only stamp was "Immigration Bangkok Thailand" and was checked that i entered and exited the country. who knows, maybe because of SARS they'll stamp your passport at each airport you arrive at. then when on walking street, a cop comes up to you and asks for your passport (if you carry it and not just a copy). if it has a stamp from a SARS country, then they fine you 10,000 baht or jail you for 6 months. that situation will suck! maybe i'm worrying for nothing. i think i'm paranoid. it'll pass (deep breaths) breath in ... breath out ahh, all relaxed now now to dream of dancing gogo girls 14 days!

in a drunken stupor on my 1st trip i paid 100 baht from walking street to Residence Gardens. total extortion. but i and my TG were quite drunk but never belligerent. we were just swaying from side to side trying to hold each other up. i gave bahtbus driver a 100 baht note, he smiled and drove away. i'm thinking my reflexes were a bit slow. come to think of it, everything was moving in slow motion that night. hehehe. but rest assured this next trip will be a lot different. i'll carry smaller bills, and give TG a 20 baht note to pay the bahtbus driver upon exiting. let him smile and drive away with that! 14 days!

don't scare me. i'm coming from USA. I'd hate to wear a mask everywhere i go. After reading the report, i don't think USA is one of the affected countries. Though i will be travelling from USA to Tokyo airport, then to Taipei airport, and ultimately to Bangkok airport. So, the checkin / checkout process should be interesting. 14 days!

agree. Penthouse Hotel www.penthousehotel.com Has the mirrors all over the place like you are looking for. Starting rates are 550 baht, i think. And go up to about 3000 baht. But you get a lot of nice stuff, the more ya pay. It's a fortune by Thai standards, but not too bad by USA standards. I myself will be staying at Penthouse Hotel when i arrive in 17 days. My room is about 2000 baht, but one word that makes it all worthwhile... "JACUZZI"

I am still planning to travel to LOS in April. I feel everything will be alright. Sure airport security will be tight, but Thailand will probably be a safe place to "ride out the storm" I feel fine leaving Hawaii and with layovers in Japan and Taiwan. I can't think of a better place than to watch CNN and see all the bombs drop on Iraq while drinking a cold beer and having a nice Thai cutie wipe the sweat off your brow with a cold towel. 40 days (and 40 nights) till i get biblical in Thailand smiles and giggles
