  1. I can only imagine how its changed, that's 30 years ago. There is now one hell of a market you have to navigate your way through now before you can get out of the grounds.
  2. Borobudur is a buddhist temple situated in the heart of the Java, which is an Islamic island in the chain of islands better known as Indonesia. Abandoned in the 14th century, deeply swallowed up by the jungle and covered, it was re-discovered again in 1814. Borodudur is Indonesia's single most visited tourist attraction. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  3. Blood Diamond
  4. Indonesian Air Force museum, Yogjakarta. Just got back home yesterday after having 2 weeks in Indonesia, mainly staying on Bali, but also spent 4 days in Yogjakarta and 2 days in Surabaya as well. This was a no-mongering trip, so dont expect any photos of girls. Anyone with an interest in jets is going to love this place. There is something for everyone here. Lots of Russian jets, some American and even a Hawk trainer from the UK. Entrance to the museum is located at the end of the airfield, but also on the Air Force side of the airfield too, so you will need ID to enter the site. You are free to wonder about outside, but entrance to the main hanger i think was IDR 10,000(roughly 50p). The usual photos and uniforms are displayed indoors, then go through the main door into the hanger and its a plane spotters dream. Was asked endless inside if i could join in families photos and with others. Had no end of school kids wanting to take a photo with me, and even a few of the Uni girls there asking if i was married, had a girlfriend, or if i wanted to marry one of them!!
  5. Depends on what time you are in DXB to if it is a zoo or not. Flew back to AMS through DXB early morning yesterday (04.30-09.00) and although all the shopping areas were busy, it was surprisingly quiet on the walking areas from gate to gate.
  6. Thailand has nothing on how the Indonesians drive! Some of the things i have seen in the past 2 weeks is enough to put hair back on my head!
  7. Well of course they will all expire, but before they do, rather than only using them on whatever Etihad are selling on their website, there is an option to change them into cash by converting them into money and being placed on one of these rechargable Visa cards and spending them on whatever you like. Petrol food, shopping anything. But there must be spent before they expire!!
  8. There is a new way of using up your expiring FF points with Etihad now, and its treated just like cash!! Buy whatever it is your heart desires.
  9. End of Days.
  10. Rising Damp (not the show, but the movie)
  11. Cant comment on refunds through BA, but last night i received into my bank account, a full refund of my flight with Brussels Airlines because of the terrorist attacks last month. I was due to fly through Brussels roughly an hour after the attack, so do consider myself quite lucky!!!! But there offered me the refund, or gave me the option to rebook, and they were good to their word, and paid up after 5 weeks.(There did say up to 6). No questions, no hassles, the full fare and all taxes, all given back to me.
  12. If you are flying BA on European short haul flights, then theY just as good as anyone else. 2 years ago i fly BA business class to Kiev, and apart from the attitude of (BA)?? ground staff in Kiev, and the lack of any kind of lounge access, i couldn't fault the service. Flew last year on BA to Seoul, and flew back again with them from Tokyo, but admittily i was upgraded to WT+ for both flights, so i cant really commit on what they offer for long haul in economy. All i know is i did take a walk back through the economy cabin during both flights, and their 777 product looked shocking, but their 787 looked to be better with newer seats and bigger AVOD.
  13. Layer Cake.
  14. Just had an email through from Etihad, with another 6 day sale on finishing Thursday next week. Return flights to Bangkok in September can be had for £382!!!!! Plenty of other dates to choose from.
  15. Looks good. Thanks for the shots.
  16. Back in '99,(lived there for 5 months, which was 5 months too long!!!!) when you couldn't move in or around Kuwait Airport for fear of hitting a Patriot Missile launcher, it was a shit hole then and still is a shit hole now!!!
  17. Ive booked with Opodo a few times now, and paid with my Visa Debit card, and have always paid the quoted price of the fare!! No extra charges!!
  18. How much was the insurance payout??? Does anyone know??
