I bring it up because you have a tendency to obfuscate the discussion at hand by bringing up unrelated topics in trying to gain some type of morally superior position. You well know what I meant, smilies and all, but I will not follow you down your littlle sidetrack. See sentences 2-4 of my last post. Hub

Sad BigD sad, You have extrapolated some sinister view on me wanting to fire all unioned FAs or some such shit based on a humorous sentence with smilies interjected accordingly. I will say that some of the behavior I sometimes personally witnessed of domestic US international crews bordered on the surreal it was so appalling, particularly on NW. Whether it has to do with union seniority is another discussion for another time so don't put words in my mouth, please. And yes since you have taken us way off-track, if given the choice I will pick the airline with the more pleasant and attractive crew (pleasant by far being more important), but please don't try to put some moral spin on this discussion. You going tell us the completely unrelated stories about the crucible and what a great family whoremonger, excuse me man, you are again? So you are saying the service on UA is as good as CX? Well your opinion and I bow to your greater knowledge of UA as I am more familiar with NW, but your opinion is not borne out by the links above. You'll give me the PTV (which are very nice to have on those long flights) and seat pitch? How generous, but what about the eight other points I made on why the CX MAY be a better deal for some? To each his own and I acknowledged UA may be a better choice for you, but I think you were a little quick to poopoo the CX deal as it is a good one for many. After all, this board is to "guide newbies" so I slanted my response that way. You don't see me coming down on the Skytop or Alex do you? Have a nice day, Hub

They need some of those juicy EU subsidies. Hub

Gerry: You won't need your certificate, but could bring a copy. I never was asked and have played in tournments with different bars. I play off a 13 (12.8) usually just bring a copy of my score list and handicap calculation from Yahoo golf handicap tracker. If you do search for club rental on this board you should come up with some good info. Many courses have rentals, http://www.thaigolfer.com/search/search.ph...ice=0&B1=Submit but cheaper to get from places like Haven Hotel, Cafe Kronburg, or Sugar Shack (150-200 baht/day versus 400-600 baht a day). There will be plenty of tournamants during your stay, just get the weekly Pattaya Mail and look in the back for the schedule/course/bar. Or check: http://www.thehaven-hotel.com/thismonthschedule.htm http://www.pattayasports.org/golf/Golf%20Home.htm I personally go for Lewinskis on Soi Pattayaland 1 as nice bunch of guys and not too early to get up, but YMMV. Hit em well, Hub

Dave: Great fare, I would havee been on it in a second if I had not already booked with EVA Hub
-
TX, Cowboy. Right now Eva is about $200 less $1,073 than SA fo March/April, so may go that way. Hub

NWA also just annouced low fares through May: http://www.nwa.com/features/tpacwinter/ They also upped the sign on bonus for a credit card to 10,000 miles, and if you sign up for the cc plus do two other qualifying activities (buy from skymall, hotel stay) you get an extra 5k. Hub Can anybody comment on Singapore Air executive economy from EWR vs. Eva deluxe?

I would agree with DH, either Phoenix or Siam CC. i agree it is sometimes hard to roll out of bed at 7:30 or 8 for some of the local tournaments. You should be able to negotiate a taxi for around 6-800 RT and if you are with someone else you can split costs. I've done it many times with a friend or two, and it is actually quicker than waiting for a big group to tee off and finish/shower/etc.. Here is a map with contact numbers for the courses: http://www.pattayasports.org/golf/GOLF%20MAP.html If you leave by 1 pm or so you can usually get 18 in, also nice as you can hit a soapy, Butterfly Bar or Buffalo Bar at about 7 on the way back. There are actually two on this side soi, IMO the better one is the small one on same side as P&W next to the white tiled beer bars.

Thnnks for reponse. I have to say I would have paid the extra cash. I just flew Cathay business and don't think I could manage another dreaded 22 hours in economy, when economy plus tickets are avilable fo a few hundred more. To each his own though, hve fun.

I'm curious on where you saw $790 for Ever Deluxe? That's a great price for high season. Hub
-
abcb: I would wary as well, but in dealing with EP over 3-4 years have not run into a problem including using my cc. Requiring a deposit during high season is not unusual. Last month while staying at EP Nov 8-16 they did not ask for one, but when I booked another 5 days for Nov 21-26 (probably into high season then), they asked for a 3K deposit, which I paid and had no problems and they even reserved the exact room I wanted, which is my favorite in the hotel. One other thing on EP, I had reserved suite 508 at the Bella Vista for 1400 baht during my November stay, which they inadvertantly had filled the day of my arrival. I had reception call Mark at home and presented them with my confirmation email. They offered me several options, which I finally decided to take suite b705 at Eastinny for 1400/night and which usually sell for much higher (I and a friend paid 1750/night for same room during april/may 2003) which I thought was a very fair gesture. They also bent over backwards carrying my bags and later checking if I was satisfie. I can understand you being leery on wiring o using a cc, though. Do you have a friend in town that could make the deposit in person? I woud be willing to bet there will be no rooms available, as I had a friend come in Nov 23-28 and could only get him the first few nights as they had nothing open. Whatever you do, keep the documentation and have ready at check in, as TIT after all. Hub

KJ: How do you pick between a credit card cash advance with fee and a debit cash advance with no fee? I recognize you may not know as sounds like you have only one account (debit) tied to your card. I have both capabilities on my ATM card. For no fees and convenience of a $1,000, it would be worth the 10 minutes to run into a bank. Thanks, Hub

Doggie can you use more than one mulligan per hole/shot? If someone reverse mulligans me and I don't like my shot, can I use my mulligan? What if I have two left on 9, can I use both on my teeshot? Also, when do you have to decide to use a mulligan - before the next guy hits? Hub -
