Another place I used to go was the restaurant at the top of the 27-story Markland Hotel. Great views up there and a few of the dishes were good, I remember one that a TG particularly liked (kowcookabit or something?) Just don't go during bad weather, as I once got caught in a lightning storm up there.

just remembered the Sugar Hut on the road to Jomtien. Great ambiance, tables by the pool in a tropical setting surrounded by bamboo trees. Service is sometimes lacking and slow, but who cares if you can jump in the pool while waiting? To Denny, that is a nice upscale place. He prolly orders the whopper, wears the paper crown, and drinks the bottle of juice tied to his belt while telling his date to stick to the 99c menu. Casa Pascal is always a favorite when feeling a bit off; mushroom rissoto, fresh bread, and a few glasses of white with two aspirin is a miracle cure.

Don't stay at the Malibu on Koh Samet - overpriced and rude. I like the sai kheow (sp?) area I would try samed pavilion, but I haven't stayed there yet.
