  1. Yes, I'm 2 for 3 now, sadly. I know about as much about soccer as I do about rocket science but all the talk in the media was about the tensions between the players and that Italian coach, while Germany was laser-focused and haven't played a weak game yet. I didn't realize that about England's 1966 win -- but with a 4-1 score, one bogus goal doesn't make much difference this time.
  2. Let's see how my predictions are going so far: Well, looks like I'm 1 for 2 in the knockout round. I predicted Uruguay over S Korea but didn't expect USA to lose to Ghana. If England beat Germany I will be a-fucking-mazed.
  3. USA had a pretty good run and has served notice that it'll be back. Will be interesting to see if this year's performance translates into some lasting popularity for soccer over the next few years.
  4. Dunno about India but there's a show on Singaporean television called Nokia Football Crazy, and it's hosted by the very dishy Jamie Yeo.
  5. My predictions are going tits up already That should be a pretty good match though.
  6. Okay, all my predictions have been completely wrong so far, so I figure my luck has to turn soon. Here are my predictions for the knock out round: Uruguay vs S Korea: Tough call but I'm going with Uruguay. USA vs Ghana: Also tough but I think USA has momentum. Happy now Hub? Netherlands vs Slovakia: I'm calling an upset here. Slovakia. Brazil vs whoever: Who are we kidding? Brazil of course. Argentina vs Mexico: Mexico is really out of sorts this time around and Argentina is as tough as ever. Argentina. Germany vs England: Sorry boys, Germany is sharp and England still isn't focused. Germany will win for sure. Then again with my record, maybe you should take my prediction as a good sign for the nation of shopkeepers? Paraguay vs Japan: I was really surprised by Japan's drubbing of Denmark. I'm calling another upset here, Japan over Paraguay, thus reducing the number of guays in the next round to one. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Portugal vs whoever: Portugal.
  7. Well put! Thanks for clarifying.
  8. First, Thailand is not a law-governed country. Second, just because it may be legal doesn't mean you should do it. Have some courtesy.
  9. Now THAT'S bizarre.
  10. Okay, that's the law. What about common courtesy? Taking a picture of a couple sitting in a bar without their permission is just rude. Don't do it. General street scenes are fine.
  11. I watched Japan vs Denmark up here with my Japanese friends. Told them there was no way Japan would win. Well, turns out I don't know shit about soccer (but you knew that already) -- Japan only needed a draw to advance, but they thrashed Denmark 3-1. The "Aoi" have come along way since I lost a 1,000 baht bet four years ago, when the Socceroos kicked their asses back to the rice paddies.
  12. i won't be back in LOS for another month. I'd tell you who takes care of my urges here, but I'm afraid you'd never shake my hand again
  13. Hey, you don't owe me any explanations! Whatever floats your boat You've done very well to repress it for long, but be careful with those suppressed sexual urges remember the retired marine colonel in American Beauty
  14. Says the guy who favors PINK as his text color
  15. The Americans have already exceeded all expectations. That has to have been the prettiest goal of the tournament so far. As for England, good show! A draw wouldn't have been good enough, and they got the job done. On to the 16.
  16. Well done! What a beautiful goal -- and in injury time too!
  17. From yesterday's Chicago Sun-Times...
  18. So what do you think lads? Is it curtains for England? The UK's biggest region, once again going it alone, is up against one of the smaller regions of the former Yugoslavia in a few hours -- and could be in trouble. As you know, Slovenia only need a draw, England have to win. And morale is very publicly in the kharzi.
  19. Don't need 'em, they always dive safely.
  20. I used to play tight end in American football
  21. Ah okay, let me try.
  22. Martin, all I did was paste in the code. It never works. I tried pasting it in the codebox, pasting it with image tags, nothing. Never have this trouble on other sites.
