Another good reason to stop exploring and drink ONLY at bars I can trust: Misty's, Catz, Mirage, Legs, Happy. Also TQ2 if Alf or Wut is on deck.

Went into Club Blu a few nights ago with some pals. I was impressed with the bright, clean look of the place and the cool, generous aircon. Some very pretty girls dancing coyote style. They can't show anything as the windows are open to public view. Upstairs there's a nice lounge area with huge overstuffed couches, very comfy, with a pool table. Aircon doesn't work so well up there, though. But the wonkiest thing about the place is the rotating staircase that brings you up there! It turns, and you have to wait for it to corkscrew into place before you can alight on the second floor (first floor for you poms). Don't wander over to the gangway if the stairs aren't in place, you'll fall all the way to the ground floor! Not recommended after numerous pops. Interesting club though the girls tend to disappear as soon as they get their lady drinks.

I was also surprised by Mr. Mango's remarks but of course TETO (to each their own) and YMMV. Let me just explain the transport situation in a little detail as I am an environmentally friendly public transport man. Soi LK Metro is between 2nd Rd and Soi Buakhao, closer to the latter. So if you want to go to North Pattaya, just walk down to 2nd Rd and hop on the baht bus; it is one way. You can also walk to the beach (go through Mike Shopping to cool off in the aircon), but it'll take a good 10 minutes. To get to WS, just walk up to Soi Buakhao, it'll take all of three minutes quite convenient really. The buses go both ways, but to get to WS just cross the soi and jump on. You'll pass Paradise a Go Go and the Friday market, then turn right. Starbucks and Wet'n' Wild are right there. The bus continues on and turns right onto 2nd Rd. Get off there and make the BRIEF, BRIEF walk to WS -- or drop in at Legs and say hi to the lovely and talented manager Tim. If that's too much effort, the bike taxi boys are cheap at 50 baht. Lastly not leastly, Bob at Bob's BBQ still makes the best burgers in town IMHO. Bob, you got those nachos grande fixed up yet?

Hi Pete, I'm really pleased to hear your place getting so popular. Thanks for keeping us in the loop, it keeps us from thinking you're just taking the piss 400 meals a day is pretty sweet considering the food was originally a sideline! I'm sure you'll get the bugs out of the system. I personally am a big fan of the fish and chips.

Yes it's worth noting that Misty's is one of the bigger bars in town now, about the same area as Sisterz but with two floors. And also when the regulars pile in they tend to cluster around one table, spending more money than an entire packed bar at... Okay, I better stop now before I get myself in trouble.

How about letting guys take their shirts off during the day but not at night? (For ladies, anytime OK of course) Pete, how much did you pay that bloke in the black striped shirt? He got more face time in your vid than any of your staff. By the way I'll probably steer clear of the pizza because the fish and chips are the best.

I'll just add to what I said before by stating that IMHO the service and manner of all employees at Misty's is head and shoulders above anything else on the soi. Just be forewarned that any girl you "glance" at in Misty's has quite possibly had a "glans" from me

Gentlemen, as a dissipate drunk who spends far more time and money in gogo bars than is good for him, I'd like to weigh in here. First of all, Paul is a top bloke and if you have any problems whatsoever just bring it to his attention. Be sure to ask to talk to Father Jack Second, contrary to what somebody said it IS quite possible to get drinks taken off if they are mistakenly put on the bill. Paul would sort that out in a hurry. I remember one time it happened to me in Dollhouse, the manager Captain Picard sorted it out right then and there. A bar that will not do this, or at least buy you a drink, does not deserve your hard earned. Third, I think this is a great thing about forums like this. Knowledge is a good thing, a chance to bring up an issue quietly so the bar can improve its service for the only one that matters: you, the customer.
