cybers1b replied to jnr's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Well, the Explorer on Beach road allways allowed me to do so. But not so many internet cafes in pattaya have more then 256 kbit i think. Bangkok is of course a bit different. cheers cyber -
Chang Mai Guest Friendly Hotel
cybers1b replied to Flyboy's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I have been staying at the Tamarind Village which is a nice village style accomodation in Chiang Mai Their rack rate is about 120 US per night in a superior room but at the Chiang Mai Hotel Travel website it is currently offered from 41 USD - they also have some good offers on other chiang mai hotels, at least the last time when i checked. Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand and therefore it is a very lively city at day and at night. If you would like to get more info on the nightlife please post your question in teh Members Section of the forum as this is the open forum. -
I have never bought a computer in the US - so I guess you are right But Pattaya is still more expensive then Bangkok. Let's put a price on it. You can buy a Desktop with a 60GB HD, 512 MB Memory, Modem, 10/100 LAN, 3D grafics card, DVD Drive, Fairly good Soundcard, Speakers and a 17" Monitor for 16,500 Baht at Panthip (Hyundai/Frok Brand - the HD is seagate, the grafics are gforce, dvd is samsung) - Hyundai/Frok has a promotion (ok, they had in july, maybe not anymore) on which they gave you a free 256MB USB Minidrive for free on top (i have seen them for about 3000 Baht). I would sti

BigD - you can get a good Desktop system for less money then in Europe or the US if you know computers a bit - some of the no name brands use the same hardware as the big and expensive brands. It is not said that a Computer in Thailand has to be more expensive then back Home. cheers cyber

sounds like you think that the email belongs to me? I am afraid I have to dissapoint you I would not use another provider in Thailand then the one I work for and loxinfo ain't the one. And if you seldom see farangs in Future Rangsit - get glasses cheers cyber

I can tell you - it came from scheld@loxinf.co.th by the way, Future Rangsit is well frequenbted by farangs - becuase of it's location near to the airport and 3 big international schools so i don't know what "totally thai" was supposed to mean? cheers cyber

There are several IT Malls in Bangkok: 1) Panthip Plaza - around the corner from World Trade Center - this i the biggest of all them and you will find it easily - any taxi driver will know where it is. 2) Fortune Town IT - at the Fortune Tower - also easy to find and getting more popular very fast. 3) Zeer Rangist IT - near the Airport (about 50 Baht with a Taxi from the Airport - also well known among the taxi drivers) 4) IT Section in the MBK Mall - http://www.mbk-center.com 5) For people who want english speaking assistance and a good after sales service (which is not qu

I agree after doing some research myself. My initial reply in this thread was triggered by teh strange emails on the pattayascam site - where in the header the mail was addressed to mike and in the mail itlself it was obvious that it was from mike to uwe. also no facts have been presented there, only the personal opinion of the person who did it. After contacting 15 business (hotels and others) - it looks like some have never heard of this site, others have allrady reported it to the police. i wrote some emails bit i got no reply from any business as to the status of their relationship to

who knows, maybe ROLAND will tell us one day that he really ownes part of the Eden in Bangkok and Jenny's Star Bar in Pattaya adn also is Howards long lost brother cheers cyber -
amphora, thanks for sharing this, not many people would admit openly that they got cheated - i would suggest you 1) inform your credit card company and cancle the payment 2) you report it to your local police as well as online to the thai police (even if it does not trigger any action - at least you have tried 3) write an email to some of the businesses who are offered with discounts as they sure don't like to associated with a scam cheers cyber

ting tong, i also am pretty sure that the thaitraveltips stuff is very dubious - but interestingly, stickman wrote about this bars in hist last weekly column and has a banner on this site. stickman is not s stupid newbie so maybe we are wrong on this? i was surprised to read about this bar becuase i was sure they are a big time scam with their membership - well, could still be the case though. http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/Weekly/weekly175.html cheers cyber

well, it looks as the domain is not longer on the nameservers where it was hosted: the nameserver works fine as it could reslove any other domain fine - maybe the domain is being moved to another hosting company, or the owner forgot to pay the bill (can happen easily) or he just decided to take it offline for some reason. > server ns2.siamnow.net Default Server: ns2.siamnow.net Address: 203.107.132.229 > set q=any > skytoppattaya.com Server: ns2.siamnow.net Address: 203.107.132.229 *** ns2.siamnow.net can't find skytoppattaya.com: Server failed > pattayamail.c -
what happened to this forum?
cybers1b replied to dirtydawg's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
i think many people post news only in the members forum even if it would be also fitting in the open section. cheers cyber -
3 daily departures was also the last I saw in april - 08:00 - 12:00 - 18:00 for 200 Baht to the Thai Airwas office in Pattaya or at Beach Road. The Minibus service is something different and I think the price now is 350 Baht. cheers cyber

i guess you are just trying to make a personal vendetta here, at least that's how your site comes along? oh, and I might add that in thailand there is of course a public prosecuter - you should keep your website at least stick to the facts. any FACTS to support your claims? I mean besides emails copied into a website which is about useless as evidence as it is easily manipulated? the best example is the following Mail that you copied into your website: -----Urspr|ngliche Nachricht----- Von: Michael Brown [mailto:brownmj@yahoo.com] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 21. Residence gardens and rate hike?
cybers1b replied to wstark's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
The deal as I understand it does not mention a higer rate for high season, but it doesn't rule that out specifically either. http://www.pattayapages.com/residence Sure some question that Pete will be easily able to clarify. cheers cyber -
yeah, you are right, i guess it was an old page in the cache of our proxy at work, must have updated the site recently. i could get it from home as well now - check out the screenshot from the old site though - still in our companies proxies cache - had to check because I was starting to think that I was seeing things cheers cyber

Bkk:Pratumwan Princess Hotel
cybers1b replied to Rengoh's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I don't know anyone who stayed there actually but I would be very suspicous of any Hotel that has a japanese Version of it's Website You might find some info here, I drove past it many many times and it looks nice enough - i think it belongs to the Dusit Group so they might charge for guests, but that seems to change from week to week even at the other Dusit Hotels. http://www.pprincess.com cheers cyber -
but if this hotel is anywhere near pattaya, it must be a real insider location as I never saw it. that's why I asked if anyone else had. And about agood deal, make a calculations, it is a good deal if you don't wanna go anywhere else but this bar - and that would not be a good deal but stupid I guess. Why tying yourself to one place? cheers cyber

short term internet provider
cybers1b replied to travelingfox's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
to explain the "," - it tells the modem to wait a second before going on with dialing the number, depending on the phone system you could also use ,, or ,,, which would mean 2 or 3 seconds and so on cheers cyber -
short term internet provider
cybers1b replied to travelingfox's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
You can get a 50 hour (or so) package from all the ISP's - here is a list of some of the ISP's: http://bangkok2day.com/portal/component/op...mid,4/catid,77/ you have to ask the hotel though if they do allow you to dial up without disconnecting the call after 10 minutes or so (very often the case) - the dial up charge is 3 Baht per connection (no time limit - but make sure you dial the local access number of the ISP) you can get these packages at all the computer shops. cheers cyber
