Maybe Pete should rename the General Discussion Forum to Advertising Forum? cheers cyber
-
good start at the forum but in thailand there are more webdesigner then bargirls - so not the best place to look i guess cheers cyber PS: if you do advertising, you should include some referenze projects to see and some of your skills (like php, perl, java, asp....) would probably have more chances for success
-
maybe a topic for the members section? don't forget that this is the open section cheers cyber

how to bargain with hotel VIA E-MAIL ???
cybers1b replied to potmehut's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Yes, that is one of the things that the thais have to learn, i came across similar things at many places, one example was the pinewood just behind Bangkok Bank. They have a website that looks rather nice http://www.pinewoodresidences.com - they had a price on there and I wanted to confirm that price, by email. After 3 days of silence, I friendly reminded them (by email) about my question. Another 5 days later I called and asked why they did not answer their emails, the girl said the manager is not here and only he can answer email. When she told me a price that was 300 Baht more then the website stated, I asked her what the price at the website is for then? her answer: I don't know about website, only manager know. Now, I like the pinewood, but they also have to learn that it is useless to do a website if you are not willing to use it as a communications platform as well. cheers cyber -

That is very true, you usually get a response within a few hours, same goes for the Roof Garden Inn - I made some not so good experiences with other places. cheers cyber -

cybers1b replied to MinxMonger's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I have written answers about that topic in the past, so have others. please try to do a search for "high speed internet in room" or so - one thread that handled the issue is http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...+speed+internet As far as I know, the mariott is the only Hotel that really has broadband internet in the rooms. http://marriott.com/property/guestRooms/PYXMC cheers cyber -

you will not find many thais who really have money going to pattaya, the stick to royal seaside resorts like Hua Hin. But why would you want to know? The Thai upper class tries to avoid farangs like the plaque anyway cheers cyber PS: welcome to the board

"Open in new window" question
cybers1b replied to stevemcm's topic in Technical problems or questions.
but to add something useful. try the following: when you launch a link in a new window next time and the window is small again - resize it, but not with the maximize button in the right top corner but whith using your mouse on the right bottom corner, you can drag the window to the size you want and usually the IE remembers this setting for the next time. depends a bit on the version. cheers cyber -

Deleting Temporary Internet Files in windowa XP
cybers1b replied to landy2a's topic in Technical problems or questions.
In IE there is a seperate option to delete the cookies (same location, tools, internet options and then "delete cookies", but upena is right, he temp internet files are all images, icons,...that where saved on your pc to make a later visit to the site faster. you can not do any harm by doing this, if you delete the cookies however, and you had chosen to remember your login data at the pattayatalk.com/forums site, you will have to enter the login data again on your next visit as it is stored in form of cookies. cheers cyber -
Booking through an Internet site
cybers1b replied to Trvlr's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
OK, I only used them once for a Hotel on Samui and they chargend me 20% of the full amount, the rest was paid to the Hotel directly upon check in. That was in March 2003,, maybe I was just lucky, but I found their service rather fast and nice. And you are right, the best part is that they offer all areas in Thailand, even though they are probably by far not the cheapest. cheers cyber -

newlyweds arriving september

Hepatitis B: It depends on the individual - the antibodies can last from anywherr between a couple of month to 20 years, generally it is believed to be 5 years. You need to get 3 shots to have a valid level of antibodies First Shot Second Shot - about 4 weeks later Third shot - 6 to 12 month later, after that you should run antobody tests from time to time to see if you are still protected. HepatitsA: here you have 2 options, a short time vaccination (Immunglobulin) that protects you immediatly after the shot for up to 6 month depending on your bodyweight, your doctor can calculate the time that you will be protected - then, there is the active vaccination, these are 2 shots (2nd is about 6 to 12 month after the first. protection starts about 2 to 4 weeks after first shot. after the second - you need to refresh the vaccination every 10 years. There is also a combined vaccination agains A and B cheers cyber
