  1. Visa exemptions are 30 days. Tourist visas are for 60 (+30) days.
  2. Predictions, predictions. You know your track record ain't very good.
  3. You couldn't destroy a balloon.
  4. The same number as it's direct competitor, the 747.
  5. But no planes to deliver. Nuff said.
  6. jacko, There is no VAT on flight tickets bought in the UK or on aviation fuel so we get off relatively lightly compared to someone who uses the train. That said, if I'm flying back to the UK (Edinburgh), I'll be having a close look at what's available in economy to/from AMS/FRA/ZUR.
  7. I hope you were on leftie at the weekend ...
  8. Unfortunately, like Maradona, Pele and Eusabio before him, there will be several guys in the forthcoming World Cup who will be making it their priority to stop him playing - if he manages to successfully negotiate his way past Inter Milan without any serious harm. Hopefully, he'll get better protection from the referees than the three aforementioned "greats".
  9. Thai Air Asia were announcing on their flights last month that they were going to start rigorously enforcing the 1 carry-on bag (weight/size) rules from 1 April. I blame the fuckers who thought they were being clever by taking the piss with their carry-on bags.
  10. Click on Taxes and it gives you a breakdown as follows: YQAC = Fuel Surcharge (Airline surcharge) GBAD = UK Tax (APD) UBAS = Passenger Service Charge (Airline surcharge) TSLA = Thailand Tax (ADT) YQAD = Airline Insurance Surcharge (Airline surcharge) The reason the costs are broken down into "Fare" and "Taxes" is for accounting purposes - the agent selling the ticket only gets commission/discount on the "Fare" part of the price
  11. Sam, Sorry, Sam - I forgot the pics when I got home. They are very guest friendly - even provide extra towels/pillows if you're having a team in.
  12. The actual tax (duty) is 65 quid - 50 quid outbound and just under 15 quid on the return.
  13. I think the HKT-SGN route is still being evaluated - at the moment you can only book on the route up until mid-May.
  14. It'll be to do with the route - maybe some changes to the schedule are in the pipeline.
  15. It's a pity the Jet 777s aren't going on the LHR route. Their biz class cabin is the dog's bollocks compared to Thai's own offering.
  16. I can only find 3 x 777-300ER from Jet that are earmarked for Paris and Tokyo by the looks of things.
  17. No great surprises - Asian airports are best and LHR is nowhere to be seen. The Skytrax World Airport Awards for 2010: 1. Singapore 2. Seoul Incheon 3. Hong Kong 4. Munich 5. Kuala Lumpur 6. Zurich 7. Amsterdam 8. Beijing 9. Auckland 10. Bangkok 11. Vancouver 12. Kansai 13. Centrair Nagoya 14. Helsinki 15. Copenhagen 16. Frankfurt Main 17. Tokyo Narita 18. Brisbane 19. Cape Town 20. San Francisco
  18. Not really. The A380 was flying before the harness issue reared its head.
  19. farman, Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated.
  20. The 28 months between the 787 being rolled out and actually getting off the ground takes some beating. I know it was just a slight problem of ensuring the wings stayed attached to the cigar-shaped bit, but it's a basic requirement for an aeroplane I would've thought.
  21. You just have to look at the gap between the top two in Spain and the rest. Even the SPL ain't so lop-sided.
