  1. Greg, the steak at Gokies is great! I ocasionally have lunch there, I dont know how she cooks it, but the hamburger is nearly fat free? The steaks are a bit pricy though, but the serving is huge at 400bt.
  2. The bigger rooms are not worth it. I have to recommend the Apex, they have a great breakfast and dinner buffet too which I enjoyed. pom mee kohok, puud talok
  3. Maybe try the Apex if you want a cheap hotel next time! Som Nam Na!
  4. Lemons! you cant talk about that stuff in the non members section!

  7. they imported rats to eat the bugs There are much better places to stay then at that scum pit. Try the residence gardens.
  8. I went to the same place, for a tatoo removal, its very painful, hurts more than getting a tatoo, cost 3000bt, and took 2 months to heal. I got a old style thai stick tatoo on top of the area of removal.
  9. Hey Jack, if you are still in Pattaya, take a walk to F&B hotel, take a look and you will see what I mean about it being nicer and cleaner. I stayed there for a month and 1/2. I know....one mans meat is another mans poisin....but take a look! http://www.thaipattaya.com/pattaya_hotel_f&b.htm
  10. Here is another good taxi service, click on this link
  11. I stayed there and I did'nt like it, there are many other hotels in Pattaya for better prices and better quality rooms. I dont have anything good to say about skytop, so I wont say it. I ended up at the F&B hotel for 600bt a night, much better, nicer, and closer to Tops, and soi7. F&B hotel info
  12. its not going to be more expensive to get a taxi, if it does get there, its just going to be a few baht more (pennies) Pattaya is still 10 baht for falangs for a baht bus, 5 for thais
  13. on pratumnak road, there is a sporting goods store, much cheaper than mikes mall.
  14. As a note to any members, Central Optics is a rip off joint, they wanted 3500bt to make a set of lenses for me, and when I said pang penoi, they said "how much do you want to pay"? Located on Central road, across from LengKee restaurant. There was a falang there dropping 6000bt for a pair of glasses, I told him that he just overpaid before I left. He was not amused
  15. I bought a pair of frames at market buhkao, then took the frames to welcome optical at the top of soi buhkao and honey inn total cost 500 baht Make sure the frames you choose can have the lens removed and replaced. Its the frames that kill you at these shops.
  16. I am staying at soi pattayaland 2 can I share a "ride"
  17. The big suites are 1200bt? my friend stayed in one and liked it very much. It featured a parlor and master bedroom. the carpet was not up to par as stated.

  19. for glasses, I bought a set of glasses at the market buhkao on tue or fri. I then took them to a shop next to top charoen on soi buhkao. Total cost 500baht for a styling pair of prescription glasses. To do this, you need to choose your glasses well!
  20. samaka, you need software like snagit 5.0 to take a screen shot. you need a screen capture software.
  21. use yahoo messenger: click on the phone icon. Say the number you are trying to call is 09-123-4567 First you would type a "+" then 66 9 123 4567 You need to forget about the first number which is "0" So you would enter the number like this +6691234567 Does that make sense? +66 for the country code, then forget the first numeral of the thai number, then the rest of the number.
  22. Look for links in pattayacitynews.net they did stories on some stuff like that.
  23. your phone needs to be an unlocked phone, sim cards with minutes can be bought at a 7-11 Not all cards work on all phones, my phone would not take an orange card, only 1-2 call worked on my phone. Usually a nokia can take all cards. Its good to know the frequency of your phone first. Thailand is a 900 1800 mhz frequency
