The season gets quiet for a week or two in Mid January before it gets busy again close to the Chinese new year from end of january to mid feb then it tails off again.

Well I've heard the 'get a life' jibe a million times too. Problem is, though Metal Detecting might look daft, its remarkeably relaxing, quite good exercise and VERY profitable if you get the right sites.. I've had my detector paid for 10 times over with the things Ive found. One gold Roman ring netted me 1K. I wont touch beaches though, I prefer just wandering around fields

I do realise Detecting is banned in Ireland as people there couldnt work out how to turn the detectors on, though I hear someone is trying to finalise details for a Potato detector

It would be advisable to book your room as soon as possible if you have a specific hotel in mind. If you arent really worried then leave it untill you get there though you might have to run around a few hotels to get what you want.

Its isnt unusual for Hotels to be full from Mid-November onwards. The Flipper probably has a regular clientelle and I would suspect many of them would be long stays though the bit about being full untill May stretches credibility a bit. End of Feb I could accept, though they might be doing some redecorationg from Feb onwards and its always better to say you are full rather than redecorating
