  1. Dont forget to ask them for the Room safe Lock when you check In. Dont know how much it is though ???
  2. The problem is that very few Thai Hoteliers (of large-ish Hotels) will show any loyalty. Its not far different from the overall attitudes of the majority of Thais themselves. They are usually incapable of thinking beyond the next weekend and with most of their staff its even worse. As someone who was once responsible for allocating Hotels for over 10,000 pax per annum, I have had many Hotel managers show little, if any loyalty to me. When I suddenly pulled our clients out from a well respected Hotel in Bangkok at the end of the contract I was chased around BKK by the manager who eventually cornered me in the Ambassador Hotel (just by the piano drinking a Beer) Who then proceeded to beg me to rethink the contracts and wanted to know why I had pulled out from his Hotel. When I told him that on 3 occassions (in low season) My company had requested a 'Comp room for me, and had been turned down by him personally, and on the final occassion 7 days earlier when I had asked him (on the instructions of my company) personally for a room and he had again turned me down. He was totally aghast and replied that everyone had to pay. I simply replied that I had paid and now it was his turn. Unfortunately, He lost his job 4 weeks later after 2 other companies pulled out from the Hotel I heard. Many Thais have no sense of loyalty, especially where money is concerned.
  3. It predominantly because January/February is a time when many UK people take Holidays, after the usual hell of Christmas. Many use the actualy Christmas period to get away from Christmas itself, which is why the first two week after Christmas is, and always has been, busy. The last week in January and first two weeks in February has always been classed as High season because of the mass movements of Chinese in the SE Asia reagion over the period.
  4. I know but it has always had a 'carry over' effect, which drags into February which is why most airfares from the UK are still high season unti mid or late February
  5. Agree with all of that other than staying at the Nana Loads better places than that. The Woraburi down the road for instance
  6. February is Chinese New year and is busy too Gung hey fat choi !
  7. Its probably the shaved head with tattoos all over it that give that impression

  10. You aint seen the Mona Lisa then ?.........peasant!! On our last trip we went down the 'Catacombs' witch is where they put all the bones of the bodies they moved. Miles of Tunnels all lined with bones and skulls. Aint been to 'Pere la Chasie cemetery either ?? What about staggering up the steps of the Sacre Coeur, Montmarte' ??
  11. Sorry but I just dont give you much odds on finding anything in that range with a pool, or even without a pool for that matter in January. (well anything with four walls and a roof that is)
  12. Then agaiiinn Think of all the sperm ejaculated in Pattaya, if you could collect it then set up as a sperm donor clinic. Can I volunteer to give some samples though?? Ill need a hand, of course ;D
  13. Nope sorry Even 10 seconds of Techno, rap or the like drives me up the wall.
  14. Dont let people put you off about bangkok, its one of the most exciting cities in the world. Get a centrally placed Hotel, somewhere near Sukhumvit Rd. then just take a walk along Sukhumvut itself, take in the atmosphere, smells, sounds etc etc. For things to do just take a look at some of the tours/trips advertised in most hotels or travel agents and take a tour, chill out. In the evening take a walk to Nana ( I dont like it but some do) maybe sit in one of the big open air corner bars and watch the action. Maybe take a taxi or the Skytrain to Soi Cowboy (say soyc'boy to the taxi driver) Again relax, you will feel your being pushed by the girls, but again, chill out take it easy, dont buy a drink for a girl unless you want her to sit with you. Spend a few days in Bangkok before going to Pattaya Not doing so is like visiting Paris and not seeing the Louvre or Pigalle But remember. You are a Hansum Man with money, every girl in the bar wants to screw you, and its your choice.. ENJOY
  15. When me, the wife and daughter arrived at the end of October we were also asked for our boarding cards
  16. OOH I understand how it works. A little more than you might think. Investment bankers do little or nothing for the man in the streets of the UK, the country and people you despise so much.
  17. I just cant see it personally. Maybe if it ran via Amsterdam,or Paris or somewhere else to pick up but the traffic just isnt there for a dedicated non stop service, which is why the charter people couldnt make it work on a long term basis, even out of Stansted, as that was even considered Thai tried out Manchester and eventually dropped it. I could see the possiblity of one of the Gulf operators running it successfully as there is still a (limited) demand for seats to the Gulf and they could then join it up with any of their onwards flights via BKK I suspect that if there is any news on it, it will be mentioned first in the TTG, the Travel Trade newspaper and I havent seen any mention of it.
  18. Heyyyyyy cool idea In some cases it would just be a matter of addressing them and putting a stamp on there wouldnt be any need to wrap them
  19. 90% of detecting is research 9% is fieldwalking 1% is detecting Ive got an XLT as well. Bought it when they first came out and wouldnt part with it. What part of the country are you in ??
  20. Its ok old people get fading memories Sorry ..... what was I saying ;D ;D
  21. Well he also missed the part about 'the European type of stuff' By that I meant the cushioned type of Sofas and chairs not the Hard arsed Tekk suff (which I cant stand) and which for the UK would be pretty useless anyway
  22. Maybe if we stopped giving it away to Africa so they can buy more guns and kill themselves, or to the Baltic states, or to Iraq or to India or to god knows how many other countries and started spending it on our own country and people ? Then again 'Investment bankers' (rhyming slang) are the people who help others send money out of the country dont they?. But, what right has someone who (supposedly) doesnt spend much time in the UK and probably doesnt pay any UK tax or contribute to the system at all have to criticise the system? None at all.
  23. That would be good eh ? 2 against 1 ? Me with me buggered back and crutches Nightcrawler hopping around with one leg Torrenovalentinoxxxxxx on his commode. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I'll have a fiver on the ref !
