The nuvi-42 is popular and costs less than THB 3000. I paid THB 12790 for the nuvi 3560 LM, probably too much, but I am happy with it. It speaks English English, American English and Australian English, which makes it a multilingual GPS.

Good and useful information that. Thanks.

I don't know how long the latest Garmin map has been available, but got the free update from Smart Icon Co.Ltd. at the ground floor of Tukcom 2 days ago. It seems to be working fine and is an improvement to the previous version. 1THAILAND DEM 2 CN THAILAND NT 2.40 3D 3 CN SGMY NT 2014.30-MALSING ALL 4 CN THAILAND NT 2014.30 (DUAL) ALL

Tell your friend to check if his travel insurance covers riding a scooter or a bike in Thailand. My insurance only allows me to ride bikes up 200 cc. Should I have an accident driving a car or riding a bike, I will not be covered if I am under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Good one, atlas2. There is probably no reason to disbelieve a Thai girl when she says Thai men are inconsiderate, when it comes to driving or having sex. . -
It looks like you had your scrambled eggs with salmon on Mixed grain Roggenbrot, the bread I normally buy there for 160 baht (1 kilo or 2.2 lbs). The TGF has now started to like it and one loaf only lasts us 3-4 days.

Fingerprick INR test anywhere?
Gonzo replied to Gus's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
To add to your information. The Lifecare Laboratory opens at 7AM to 8PM, Monday to Saturday and are closed on Sunday. The pathologist, who owns the place, is usually late in the morning on school days, as he takes his kids to school. It's best to go there after 8AM, when the traffic is still relatively light and one can find a place to park in the little Soi off Third Road, if you drive a car you can normally park in front of one of the many shops, as they don't open until about 10AM. If you ride a scooter it won't matter, as you can park right in front of his shop. The Tel. Numbers are 038 488048, 081 4817180 Hotline 086-812 9397. There are no appointments needed The results for the INR can be had after one minute. He has various check-up programs. The 15 item Standard Package is only THB 500. The Exclusive 30 item Program is THB 2500. We had the 20 item THB 999 baht program yesterday, You have your blood samples taken in the morning and can pick up the results at 3PM in the afternoon. The pathologist speaks very good English. One can also choose to add additional tests or just have single tests from his extensive list of 120 items. All hospitals in Pattaya will accept his test results. One can save a hell of a lot of money by having blood tests done at the Lifecare Laboratory, instead of going to one of the Private Hospitals The Check-up programs require fasting for 8 hours before the blood samples are taken. The OP said he had thin veins and difficulties having blood taken. There won't be any problems at the Lifecare Laboratory. I have thin veins, but the pathologist there always draws blood at his first attempt. -
Marks & Spencer Food Shop at Central Festival

Saying green tea will rot your teeth is nonsense. Both black and green are rich in antioxidants. Poor hygiene and too much sugary food will damage your teeth. I brushed and flossed my teeth all of my life and have 6-monthly check-ups with my dentist to scale my teeth and to apply fluoride. I still have all of my own teeth, which is rare for people in my age group. Drinking tea and coffee will stain your teeth in the long run, which does not worry me, as long as I am still able to eat any food I like, no matter how tough t is. -

Hi Jacko, There was me thinking you only drank San Miguel in you spa, when you are not moderating. I switched from coffee to tea a fair while ago as it allows me to sleep much better. In the last few years before I retired we worked a lot of shift work on the wharves (docks) or rig tenders. Quite often, after working a 12 or 16 hour shift, I was called out to drive a heavy crane in middle of the night to take a new drill bit or steel casings to the oil rigs to replace damaged ones. You worked in the oil industry and probably knows how it works. I drank as many as 10 cups of black coffee to stop me from falling asleep. The money was great, but it totally stuffed up my sleep cycle. It took a long time to be able to sleep normally again and get a good night's sleep. I had a look at my collection of tea bags. From Australia I brought back Lipton green tea imported from Ceylon. Mrs Gonzo, whose face still looks swollen, but improves every day, bought Lipton green tea with orange mandarin flavour. I just had a look at it and it is imported from Russia. It tastes all right. I bought at Friendships a couple of 25 bag boxes fully imported Dilmah tea last year, which the missus put behind a stack of books and were hidden until last week, when I was sorting out my collection of books. There was an unopened bottle of Extra Virgin Olive oil as well. I also have a few bags of Twinings of London green tea bags with mint, which is pretty good tea also. At the moment I am trying to finish a box of black tea we brought from Australia. Tea is rich in anti-oxidants, which is supposed to get rid of free radicals and therefore may prevent cancer.atlas2 mentioned eating a bit of chocolate now and then. Dark chocolate has the same health benefits as tea. We have enough green tea to last us two years. We will probably go back to Australia for another 3 month visit next April. I can bring you some tea to the Expat Club, the next time they have a decent guest speaker, whenever that will be. Alternatively, you can pay us a short visit at our modest place at the JBC, when you get your visa extension. Send a PM if you decide to do so. -
The Haka is of historical and cultural significance in quite a few Southern Pacific nations and not only performed before Rugby Union games.

It was close and could have gone England's way. Gareth Widdop hit the goal posts twice when trying to convert. England has a young and very talented side and will only get better.

Steel Dan was popular amongst the down under surfers in Bali in the seventies and early eighties and so was 10CC and the Moody Blues.
