I wished I could still do that, but after a lifetime of playing sports and getting older every day, I am not able to do that anymore.

I never took Costa Riva seriously until last night's game. I hope they will continue to play they way they beat Italy and I think they will. It would be nice if a small country won the WC, instead of Brazil, Italy or Germany. That would truly make football the "world game". Now I am a bit worried about Germany playing Ghana tonight. Just because the USA did so well against them, does not mean it will be easy for Germany. Ghana have a team with a lot of talent.

This is the game I enjoyed the most so far, Minnows Costa Rica beating Italy 1:0. No need for coffee to help me stay awake,
-
No fear! Cost Rica treated Italy with contempt and deserve their 1:0 lead at half time. I hope it will be more of the same in the second half.
-
The Italian gentleman was talking about his own country.and I am nearly certain your Chris Froome will win the Tour de France without cheating, just like our Cadel Evans did in 2011.
-
I am now looking forward for the Costa Rica - Italy game in an hour's time. I would like to see Costa Rica win, which could be difficult against the experienced Italians.

Hi there, there is still a slim chance for England making the last 16. Thanks for starting this thread. It has kept me busy.

International transfers (American Bank to Thai Bank)

I have to do a tax return in Australia every year at the end of our financial year 30.June, in order to keep my Australian citizenship and to keep my Australian resident status, instead of being declared an Australian non resident, which cancels out your Australian Medicare entitlements. I have until the end of October every year to do so. That is only one of the reasons why we will go back to Australia in a couple of weeks for a 3 months holiday. I was treated at the Royal Darwin Hospital for free for four months two years ago, when I arrived back home with a broken neck, only because I was -
Which is nothing but the truth..........

Your head looks alright to me, better than mine at least. The issues inside your head are the ones one has to be careful about. The Federal was my favourite hotel as well. i probably stayed there more than a 100 times, especially when a good Aussie mate was very ill in Bangkok Hospital in 2007 for a couple of months, after a bike accident in Cambodia.

Good one Yzi. You started the music thread and may it last forever.

I have always admired Gerrard. In last night's game he looked tired and spent right from the start.
-
Suarez made all the difference. Ironically, he plays in the Premier Division for Liverpool in England.
-
Rooney just scored in the 75,min. A much better performance in the second half.
-
It would have been nice if Rooney's header would have gone in in the 32.min instead of hitting the corner post. He is out of form and all of the England team looked too tense right from the start. They played better against Italy and I hope they will do so again in the second half of the game.

Another South American team qualified for the last 16. Columbia beat Ivory Coast 2:1. Three goals within a few minutes late in the game stopped me from falling asleep in the chair. Now I am waiting in great anticipation for the England game against Uruguay. Good luck England.
-
own continent I am sure England will do all right tonight. I had no problems with Spain's departure, but I don't want to see England to depart as well. I don't want to see another great Euro team to be taken out of the WC against the South American countries playing in their own backyard.Cheers

Thanks for sharing your story. I could tell a few things about my early youth, which was not always pretty as well. I am sure England's "old men" Lampard ,Gerrard, Rooney and England's exiting new young guns will take care of Uruguay. With a beat of luck Germany and England will meet in the last 16 again. There will be no hard feelings, win or loose. I am proud of how Australia, the country which adopted me such a long time ago, played against the Netherlands last night. I am certain that Klinsmann will show the replays to his USA team, to show how the minnows of the game should handl

Croatia 4 Cameroon 0. Croatia need a draw against Mexico to qualify for the last 16. Croatia had Ivan Olic from VFL Wolfsburg (VW subsidiary) and Mario Mandzukic (Bayern München) playing for them.

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain. I used to be in love with Eliza Doolittle as well.
-
Chile are leading Spain 2:0 at half time. I think it will be curtains for the 2010 WC champions. They look like a ghost of their former selves.
-
Australia put up a very strong performance when they lost to the super stars from the Netherlands 3:2. The Aussies deserved a draw. Well played Australia, the lowest ranked team in the competition.
-
Great game by the Aussies against the potential world champions Holland. A good goal from Robben in the 20.min and a great equalizer by Tim Cahill one minute later.

Here are some good statistics. More than 50% of players in this World Cup come from the Premier League (England), La Liga (Spain) Serie A (Italy) and the Bundesliga (Germany). Kevin de Bruyne from Belgium plays for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
