Two of the greatest IMO

The Dutchman Peter Weening won the ninth stage yesterday and Cadel Evans was seventh and is still in the pink jersey, about 58 seconds ahead of Rigoberto Uran in the overall standings, leading by about 58 seconds. It would be great if the 37 year old Cadel, born in the Northern Territory , could pull it off. He was third in the Giro d'Italy last year. To be honest, the Italian commentary had me confused last night and I had no idea how Cadel was doing until I saw him standing on the podium wearing the Maglia Rosa. They are having a rest day today and I was told the rest of the Giro will be shown on Eurovision with English commentary for the remainder of the Giro. I hope that is right. Even for non cycling fans the Giro would be exiting to watch and the Tour de France even more so. Italy and France are incredibly beautiful countries and I never get tired at looking at the scenery, the exited onlookers and the great historical buildings, especially in the Tour de France.

Marco Pantani was a legend. He died ten years ago on 14.Feb 2004.

I am a great fan of cycling. I am watching the Giro right now on BTV Channel 59 Rai Italia in Jomtien. I don't understand Italian, but still enjoy watching. Kittel is an exciting young sprinter and will probably take the place of Numero Uno from Cavendish as a sprinter. I am surprised Cadel still has some legs left after getting on a bit. He took the lead after the eight stage, but will probably fade in the mountains. I timed my holiday to Australia, so I could watch all of the Tour de France free on air on SBS with English commentary and all of the WC in Brazil as well. Hi CT

The Bob Marley version of Hotel California is pretty good as well. Shame he died so young when there was so much good music left in him.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/world-cup/2014 England picked a good mix of 23 experienced and exiting new players. I feel sorry for Ashley Cole getting left out.

Are there six Papillions? The thought of it makes me shudder.

Liverpool's might have a small squad of players compared to the teams you mentioned, but they have the most loyal supporter singing that great club song week after week with unequaled passion, like no other team can. No-one can take that away from them. It was painful to watch the expression on Steven Gerrard's face after that fateful draw with Sunderland, which lost them the Premiership.

Good posts from Obsession and Parkwahn. My preliminary Trifecta for the WC 2014. Argentina, Spain and Brazil. This will probably change after the Group games. Here is a picture of Germany's new outfit for their away games. Flamengo is the most popular club team in Brazil and the new German Adidas strip looks almost identical to theirs. A lot of Brazilian fans will approve, when Germany plays other teams than Brazil.

Is there some Internet Problem out there

Thanks for reminding me to cancel the Automatic Renewal Option, which I have used for quite some time. Last year they deducted AUD 129.99 from my debit card. When I went back to Australia I could have bought exactly the same product for less than half that in most computer shops. I just logged into my Norton account to see if I still had the latest Norton 360 Premium Edition on my computer. No problems with that and the same product can be bought for preferred customers for THB 2090 if you decide to buy it now. I guess everybody with a Norton account is a preferred customer, but when it comes to renewing the subscription they seem to charge twice as much. My subscription does not expire for another 3 months and by then I will be back in Australia for my yearly 3-months visit there and will buy a product from one of the many computer outlets there at the right price. -

Hi Jacko, I have always had my own single/ router bought from TOT, which is not split around with other users and also have my own password. When I had a problem with my TOT connection running at a slower speed in 2011, I just grabbed my Acer laptop and the router and went to the TOT office at the corner of Pattaya Klang and Third Road. Their able technician always fixed any problem. Ringing their office and asking them to send someone to help can take a long time. When I bought my condo it had a fixed line. As far as I know I am the only person on my floor with a fixed line. All the other computer users on my floor are using WiFi connections at about THB 400 per month or 30 THB per day from the condo office with often poor results. I have been paying THB 738.30 per month now for a 10 Mbps connection for quite some time now, with a free WiFi connection for the iPad, which only works when my computer connection is on. I just received my last statement from them, offering 13 Mbps for THB. 690. I will go there and check it out. I also go to their office every year or so and pay THB 10000 in advance, which covers all of my bills with them for a year. I also bought a home phone from them with a 038 number, which is handy as a back-up and works well. I never had many problems with pop-ups either, when I accidentally allowed pop-ups on my Bundesliga website. It took me a while to find out how to disable pop-ups. I am not a computer geek and don’t like to spend time on learning new software. I like Windows 7 now, but will not buy another computer with Windows 8 on it. I spent nearly all day yesterday at a friend’s place, trying to fix things he stuffed up on his new and first computer with Windows 8 on it. It was a pain in the arse to suss out all the changes Microsoft made from Windows 7. I like Norton’s safe search function, which seems to work reasonably well. I also use NO Script, which blocks Java Scipt and Java. I use a toggle switch to enable Java Scipt to allow me to open sites I trust, which seems easy enough. Jacko, there was a Firefox version some time ago, which was not compatible with Skype. It was well known at the time and has been addressed by Firefox in their next version. It was no big deal. Firefox is all right and works for me without any problems. Call me old-fashioned, which I probably am, but I still like to correspond with friends and family using email or use the phone. I tried Facebook and Twitter and don't like either. I learned my lesson after the problems with Yahoo Mail debacle and now use 4 different accounts. I use one account for important stuff, like legal issues and Internet banking, another account to correspond with friends and family the other two accounts for less important stuff. I change passwords more often for the more important things. The problem at times can be to remember them all, as one gets older. I will be all right for a long time to come, as long as I stay away from the beer. -

I had issues with Yahoo Mail a couple of years ago, when someone managed to get hold of my password and then used my account to have fun and play games with me. Sometimes I could access my mail, at other times I couldn’t. When I received an email from an unknown person to my Yahoo Mail, using my username, I knew there was a serious problem. There was not a lot of harm done. It was probably some smart kid, fucking around with me. Nevertheless, it was difficult to get Yahoo to help me to get the problem sorted out, as they only sent me automated messages, asking me security questions, which were not the same I had supplied to them in the first place. It took me a couple of weeks to eventually get my account back, changing to a stronger PW, which now gets changed more often. I also was asked to download the latest Flash Player and had no problems with it. I am also with TOT using a fixed line, which has worked well for me for many years, getting similar download and upload speeds as MM. I think one has to be lucky. Some of the TOT users at the other end of the building have and are still having problems, getting a decent connection and it seems to make no difference, whether they are using TOT or other servers. As I have a fixed line with TOT, they also allow me to use free WiFi on the iPAD, when I am connected to the Internet. I have lost Interest in the iPad. My TGF is using it when I am doing something else using the lap top computer. I have used Firefox for many years now and just recently upgraded to their latest version. I never had problems with Firefox, except when their second-last version would not allow me to use Skype. Skype now works better than ever. IE had big problems lately with security issues, which they now claim have been fixed. I had problems with IE years ago and still won’t use that browser. -
I opened the link to have a look at one sports writers opinion. All the athletes named are probably amongst the very best in their chosen sports, but I cannot agree they are the most dominant athletes in the world. The list was compiled by a certain Tony Olivero. Like most sports writers compiling such lists, he his influenced by what sports he prefers and by his background. There is no way any of us can follow all sports in detail and then decide who are the 50 most dominant athletes in the world. If 100 sports writers compiled similar lists, they would all be different to the nth degree. Some of them could be Norwegian sports writers, covering what their Nordic winter sports athletes accomplished at the Winter Olympics, or African writers following their long distance runners, consistently winning just about every important Marathon year after year and setting incredible world records in the process. What about all those great swimmers. America has dominated swimming for a very long time now. The list of sports not covered by those "experts" is endless.

Double post , but a good one

I totally agree with you. There is one more thing I would like to point out. Bayern M. has been an enormously successful enterprise financially for a very long time, making huge profits year after year , which allowed them to buy the best players from other counties and from other German clubs. That is probably the reason Bayern is hated in Germany outside of Bavaria. They fucked up the Bundesliga by being able to afford to field two teams with enough depth to beat other Budesliga teams week after week. After having secured the championship in record time they thought they invincible and relaxed. They struggled against Braunschweig and lost 3 to nothing against the most popular team in Germany, BVB Dortmund, from whom they stole Götze and are now in the process of getting Lewandowski as well. It all about money and nothing else seems important. Bayen must have thought, Real Madrid would not be to difficult. They were totally wrong.R. Madrid knew exactly how they could crack Bayern. I watched both games at the Bernabeau Santiago and at the Allianz stadium in Munich and it was painful to watch.I don't want to take anything away from Real Madrid. They played superbly in both legs. they knew exactly how to handle Bayern M. with Guardiola's ticky tacky garbage. Ottmar Hitzfeld must have been thinking to himself, that replacing him with Pep wasn't such a good idea. Any team becoming complacent will pay a price eventually, no matter what their past record will tell you. I yearn for the days when certain countries only allowed two foreign player in their teams and it should be reintroduced, to allow local players to develop and eventually represent their country to a high level as well.

Trying to watch most of the games will be a pain in the arse, whether her you are in Europe or in Thailand. http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/ http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

Same here, I posted for a while on PA a few years ago, but I soon lost interest. I could never find a lot which interested me on that board.

I think we have seen the best of Frank Ribery after the way he performed against against Real Madrid. He is still a great player, but he won't be a match winner for France in Brazil, in my humble opinion. And why oh why did Bayern sign up Guardiola without his boy Lionel Messi. Guardiola managed to fuck up very a very capable Bayern team within a couple of month.

Gareth Bale, Rinaldo and Modric are the best players in Europe in my opinion. http://youtu.be/Ul1V2sZ9fwg

The great Amy Winehouse, always pissed and drugged up. Died three years from alcohol poisoning at age 29. What a waste of a great talent.
