I believe it is the only non-stop from New York at the moment. It may not last much longer as Thai is threatening to add a stop somewhere. I have flown it twice and it is worth every penny no matter what class you're in. It's a 17 hour flight but seats are good and food is decent and entertainment is great. Gets you into BKK at 1600 the next day which is much earlier than most flight from the US. I will fly it every chance I get. I hope it stays non-stop.

Flying with them for the first time out of San Fran in May. If anyone has any experiences with them from the west coast or comments, I would appreciate it.

The only downside was the usual candle-wax shows performed by a pair of females who probably double as the cleaner and the bouncer. That has to be my favorite line in quite some time.

The Thai flights out of New York are all non-stop. I assume the ones out of LA are as well. They use the Airbus 340-500 and it can go the distance.

I haven't stayed there for a couple of years but it was nice then. If you want a nice swimming pool it may not be for you as it is very small. The location on Soi 13 is nice as it is a short walk to the beach, Royal Garden Mall, Walking Street, Soi Diana to name a few. Do a search for their website for the latest info or check out the reviews on the forum.

Yes there is cable but I don't know which no restaurant but plenty nearby dont know 10 rooms /never was noisey unless repairs being made no earlier than 9am THFC, here is a portion of my last trip report for you since it appears you are not a member yet and can not access it: After doing a lot of reading in hotel reviews, I picked the Metro Apartments. The owner Dennis is a great guy and really laid back. The rooms are great and I paid 6500 baht for 13 nights. The only problem I had was the mattress was too hard for my back. I slept poorly most nights but I should also add that I never inquired about another room. Maybe Dennis has rooms with softer beds, I don't know. I apologize for these next two photos, my nose must have gotten in the way. The bar itself is very nice with three free pool tables for paying customers and free internet use as well. His drink selection is wide and to be honest I had never heard of some of his offerings.

It's a great place , rooms are clean, bar is nice, girls are friendly.

Tengotodo, trust me, I've been on this flight, it's an Airbus 340-500, it's new and pristine. The service was excellent, and if you're in Royal Silk Class you will have an excellent flight. Enjoy.

I took it in June and will take it again in about 10 days but sadly I can only afford economy. I found the 17 hour flight to be just fine. I believe the business class has those nice lay down seats and a bigger tv. I guess it's just up to how much money you can or want to spend.

Don't have a definite answer but I believe she will qualify as I flew on a domestic flight alone when I was 12. Just arrange it all with the airline.

Some of us are there already, some are closer than they want to admit, and some can't imagine they could ever be that old. Regardless, we are all getting older by the second, so enjoy your possible future and some good advice in these cartoons.

I used to take the Delta/Korean flights as well for past trips but since the airfares have increased with fuel prices I have switched to flying to JFK and connecting with the non-stop Thai airways flight. The prices right now are just as cheap or cheaper than any flights I can find with Delta and you also arrive in BKK about 7 hours earlier. The only problem might be finding an early morning flight to JFK that gives you time to connect with Thai. My next trip in Oct. I will be driving two hours to Fort Lauderdale and taking a Jet Blue flight non-stop to JFK at $180 R/T. I will then have about 3 hours before my Thai flight leaves. $1036 R/T So a total of about $1220. Including my driving, trip time will be about 25 hours which is still 2 hours shorter than with Delta from here and as I said I arrive 7 hours earlier. If prices are comparable, I will go this route everytime. Just a suggestion for anyone else tired of the Pacific route.

Yes, we have to declare to customs what we have bought overseas and are bringing back with us. It's up to customs then whether to search your bags or not. Personally, I haven't been searched for a loooooong time.

Either sitting at a bar with a cold one or back in your hotel room with a hot one are both good things to do in Pattaya when it rains.
