  1. I think it is a contract (often for 10 days) under which the girls work.
  2. And this image was taken at 16:37 today:
  3. If he is realistic about the price (yes, a big IF! ) I think the adjacent ladyboy gogo will take it over.
  4. Members of the third sex, I think.
  5. The air pollution has started in Bangkok again. I guess it won't be long before Pattaya is suffering as well. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2879792/toxic-smog-returns-to-greater-bangkok Several areas in Bangkok and nearby provinces were blanketed with hazardous levels of smog on Tuesday, the pollution trapped in stagnant air.
  6. Apparently, there are 12 of them around, so it might not have been the same one. https://www.pattayamail.com/news/pattaya-launches-electric-baht-buses-to-tackle-long-term-pollution-459186#:~:text=A fleet of twelve electric, and embracing sustainable transit solutions.”
  7. An article in The Pattaya News back in April said: "The Bay Pattaya, a beachfront project located on Soi 5-6 along Beach Road, is set to undergo a significant makeover to become a 24/7 entertainment and shopping complex." (https://thepattayanews.com/2024/04/18/the-bay-pattaya-to-transform-into-24-7-entertainment-shopping-complex/) There are certainly changes going on there. Starbucks has been established there for a long time. Now, on the opposite corner, there is a new restaurant - "Dolce Vita". Immediately to the left of that, another transformation looks to be nearly complete. It doesn't display a name but appears to be a restaurant. Above Starbucks is a sign which says "Peshwa Coming Soon". I would guess that that is going to be an Indian restaurant. To the right of Starbucks are units waiting to be rented out. If you are interested, here are the contact details! Behind The Bay, there used to be a soapy called Rasputin, which catered mainly for Korean clients. It did not re-open after Covid, but appears now to be having work done on it. Further south along Beach Road, immediately south of Mike's Mall, there is a building which has mystified me for a long time. It was called "Modern City Department Store", but looked almost derelict, particularly with street vendors hiding the facade. It is now covered with scaffolding, so I wait with interest to see what becomes of it.
  8. One of the new electric Baht buses, with apologies if already posted:
  9. This place has opened relatively recently. It is on Second Road, at the intersection with the sub-soi that leads to Ruen Thai and Casa Pascal. Their website: https://www.njshabu.com Please leave a comment if you have tried it.
  10. The number of palm trees along Beach Road seems to have increased considerably over the last few months:
  11. I'm very pleased to find upon my return that the air pollution in Pattaya is not noticeable:
  12. Walking along Beach Road (Pattaya) this afternoon, I noticed a new Korean restaurant - Hanok, beside Basaya Beach Hotel, between Pattaya Klang and Soi 6. I think it might just be on the verge of opening as it didn't look operational, but there were girls inside taking photos of each other - like a staff shoot.
  13. I'm sure you will have seen this in your research, but just in case ,,,,,,,, https://www.trip.com/blog/a-guide-to-shanghai-pudong-airport/
  14. Considerably better air quality in Pattaya today:
  15. Best not to be! https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2772433/hazardous-smog-shrouds-45-thai-provinces https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2772351/lung-cancer-pm2-5-deaths-surge-in-the-north
  16. And just as bad today:
  17. Air pollution in recent days has improved, but, sadly, took a big step backwards today -
  18. Well done! Enjoy Songkran! 😀
  19. Just as well it was the HGV and not one of our generously proportioned BMs! 😄
  20. ^^^ It's great to see blue sky in those pics. (Hope it wasn't Photoshopped! 😃)
  21. Thanks. I'm not sure what to make of the article as it makes no mention of Cambodia, which I thought was a major contributor to the pollution in Pattaya, Bangkok, etc. through agricultural burning.
  22. https://www.facebook.com/nbtworld NNT- National News Bureau of Thailand The Ministry of Interior, through the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, reveals three strategic approaches to address issues related to forest fires, haze, and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution 1. Pollution Reduction at the Source: Collaboration between districts and local administrative organizations is emphasized to prevent and reduce pollution at the source (origin). Authorities with legal responsibilities are directed to enforce laws rigorously. 2. Public Awareness Campaign: Prioritizing proactive communication to inform and raise awareness among the public regarding the prevailing situation and the causes of particulate matter. Encouraging public involvement to collectively prevent and alleviate pollution issues in the area. 3. Emergency Response to Forest Fires, Haze, or Elevated PM2.5 Levels: Implementing various precautionary measures. Prioritizing the safety of personnel involved. Establishing safe zones and dust-free rooms adequately. Providing assistance in accordance with relevant regulations and strict, transparent criteria. Additionally, to prevent hazards during the Chinese New Year festivities in 2024, provinces, districts, and local administrative organizations are instructed to inspect communities with fire-prone materials, especially those involving the production and trade of floral decorations. The emphasis is on increasing vigilance in production processes to minimize potential risks to life and property.
