Cambodia Hotel Reccommengations
Mescalito replied to teelack's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Another BM (CSM) and I stayed at the Golden Orange Hotel in Siem Reap. It's pretty basic, not a 5-star resort by any means, but it's very clean, neat and well-kept. Breakfast is included, and the staff is very friendly and speaks good English. We did not, however, see any guests, ourselves included, with girls in tow at any time. Some families and a few quasi-backpackers, but that's about it. One down side is that it's a 5-story hotel but has no elevator. If you're on the top floor like I was it can be a bit of a hike to your room. -
A man and a woman, both strangers, found themselves accidentally booked into the same sleeper car cabin on an overnight train ride. Unable to find alternate cabins on the overcrowded train, they agreed to share the cabin despite being married to other people, he in the upper bunk and she in the lower. In the wee hours he called down to her, "Excuse me, could you hand be an extra blanket? I'm pretty cold up here." She replied, "For just this night let's pretend we're married to each other". "Great!", he said, but as he started to climb down she added, "Get your own fucking blanket

Assaulted at Windmill
Mescalito replied to bangkokbarry's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
There are as many sides to a story as there are participants and witnesses. I'd be interested in hearing how the mamasan, the dancer, and adjacent un-involved customers would describe these events. -
I picked up an e-mail in my personal e-mail account the other day, not a PM, announcing the opening of this new bar/supper club. I was a little surprised in that there's nothing posted anywhere on the web -- that I'm aware of, anyway -- that would tie my e-mail address to my travels to Pattaya. I'm not aware of it having come from any of the BM's who do have my e-mail address. Anyone else? (And BTW, they apparently are planning on a 500 baht cover charge.)

bangkok golf and fishing
Mescalito replied to fisherman194's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
As far as golf goes, definitely get in touch with BM "Doghaus". He runs Solar Golf, a golf tourism company in Pattaya, but he also arranges regular outings each week that usually involve a lot of the ex-pats and whatever BM's may be in town. It's always a great group of guys, (and the occasional member of the fairer sex), and he's been doing this kind of work so long he's practically elevated it to an art form. -
I take CI biz class from SFO on almost all my trips and have been very pleased with it. Excellent service, good menu, seats that are wide enough and recline enough for a decent night's sleep on the overnight leg (aided by a couple of Tylenol PM's). Each of my flights has departed right on time and arrived on time or even a bit early. I like being able to select my seats when I book and pay for the flight via the web site, as I do prefer the upper deck. I have also found that I can save a decent amount of money by booking the trip on their web site as 2 separate one-way tickets compared to

Charlie got stuck doing the grocery shopping one day, and while in the supermarket he noticed a fairly attractive young woman staring intently at him. He looked back her her and finally said, "Excuse me, do I know you?". The young woman replied, "I think you're the father of one of my kids." Charlie immediately panicked. He wracked his brain only to conclude that this could be the woman from the one and only time he ever cheated on his wife some years earlier, so he asked her, "Are you the stripper from Mike's bachelor party about 5 years ago? The one I fucked silly on the pool tab

Do you give money to beggars?
Mescalito replied to benny27's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I usually do. I'll drop whatever coins I have in my pocket at the time in their bowl or cup. Unlike in the US, where opportunities to get ahead are more readily available and the "beggars" are often either scam artists or druggies saving for their next hit, those I see in LOS are usually the real deal. I am constantly reminded of one guy I saw every time I was in Bangkok. Age was hard to gauge but I'm guessing 40-ish to maybe early 50's. He was paralyzed from the waist down, missing both legs at or below the knee, as well as all of one hand and several fingers on the other. I would see hi -
I must confess one thing up front: I've never been to the Philippines. However, one thing I've noticed from many of the pictures I've seen posted here and elsewhere is that the Filipinas do seem to have -- shall we say? -- a bit more meat on their bones. I'm more partial to the slimmer varieties.

I'm with Bank of America. They gave me a list of banks in Thailand with whom they have formal business affiliations. I'll open an account with one of them (Siam Commercial, probably) on my next trip and since I also have Online Banking with B of A I can link the accounts and initiate wire transfers that way way. It's how I plan to start moving money over there while building up for The Big Move.

What a coincidence. My brother's father-in-law just sent me these: 1. It's not whether you win or lose, but where you place the blame. 2. You are not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on. 3. We have enough youth. How about a fountain of "smart"? 4. When you work here, you can name your own salary. I named mine, "Skinny". 5. Smith & Wesson:The original point and click interface 6. A fool and his money can throw one hell of a party. 7. When blonds have more fun do they know it? 8. Five days a week my body

Danny and Sai's Wedding Party at CATZ a gogo
Mescalito replied to Pieman's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Sadly, I'm still stuck here in the US for about 4 or 5 more months. Danny & Sai: I'll spot you a bottle of champagne when I'm back and we can have a somewhat belated celebration. How's that? -
Just go to Big C. I can't vouch for them having sourdough bread, but they have pretty much everything else you'd expect in a major supermarket.

And Delta, and American, and US Air, and Northwest, and . . . . . . . . . .

In an earlier career I was a social worker and therapist. Not only do I think these are damned funny, we used to tell much more offensive jokes than this around the office!

Spoooooooooonnnnn !!!

Thanks for posting these. Calvin & Hobbes is definitely one of the all-time great strips, and ranks as one of my favorites along with Bloom County.

What did one lesbian frog say to the other lesbian frog? "Gee, we really do taste like chicken!" What's the difference between a bull dyke and an elephant? About 30 pounds and a Pendleton shirt.

The site is really coming along nicely. I have to admit, I found one picture pretty humorous: cute, petite little Mod sitting next to that behemoth, Laura Davies!
-
Good for Mod, and good for you in helping her out with this. It looks like I won't be able to back until the spring, but when I do I'll definitely have to book a round with her.

Yes, I was wondering the same thing. I may be a devout "leg man", but I still want to see something up there in the boobage region. Still, they are some fine looking women nonetheless.

You'd be safer climbing Everest in flip-flops than you would be trying to skateboard in Pattaya. Besides, isn't the whole point of visiting a different country and culture being able to see and do things you couldn't do back home?
