THE_DRUID replied to shane_sangthip#1's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Fcukin hell this thread seems to have moved into the Gender confused area of the Darkside of oblivion.Back to the original question where the fuck can i get a place with 3 bedrooms? -

Hi Guys,There's a brand new hotel opening called 'Arcadia Mansions',it's down the same Soi as Tim's new hotel(at the side of Tim Bar).It is owned by The Carlton(group),who also own Bliss Mansion on Soi Diana. When i was in Funtown earlier this month the receptionist in Bliss told me it should be open around the end of December(around now). She wasn't sure of the prices but you can e-mail enquiries to blissmansion@hotmail.com. Has anyone yet taken a bus from the new airport to Pattaya.I have been on a few forums and whilst there are quite a lot of postings about Taxi rides to Pattaya,i can't find any info or experiences about the reputed Bus that will run from the new airport to Funtown.Any info and experiences of The Airport bus to Funtown from anyone would be appreciated. Cheers, Druid.

Just checked on the Natwest website Advantage Gold is available for a 90 day moneyback guarantee trial @ £12 per month.Travel insurance is also one of the perks but not sure what type(haven't looked into it).it's all on the website and you can join online or in your local Branch.if you're a fan of T/C's Worth checking out especially with them being commission free. Nationwide charge 1% for T/C's. A lot of Uk Banks only give you commision free T/C's if you buy them in foreign currency. No point really as you are then changing your money twice.Don't know whether they are still doing it but if you have a Natwest current account, you could upgrade this to what they called an advantage gold account, the charge for this was £8 per month, many benefits included commisssion free T/C's in £sterling. Now the upside/loophole for the punter was you could have a 2 month trial period after which you could cancel the advantage gold account and revert back to a normal curr

I never have and would never advise anyone to buy Baht in the Uk.The rate as stated in the above quote is piss poor. Also There is no need as their is always an exchange booth open both before and after you pass through customs in Don Muang airport. The rate at the airport is also favourable.ATM machinnes are also in abundance in the arrivals terminal. So there is certainly no need to change £ into Baht back home.Don't be fooled by these 'No Commission' deals at the Post Office and various Travel Agents as you are hit by the poor rate of exchange they are offering(in comparison to los) instead.

Yeah i just got in from work and turned on the BBC teletext to see the pound at 71.22 up from yesterdays 70.08 close!!!!The pound up by 2 cents on the US$ also.Hope it keeps going for the next 3 1/2 weeks.
-
Roll on into the 70's i say.I'm there in June so if it keeps up the pace of the last week then we're laughing.Tonight it's 70.32 on the BBC1 ceefax page 241,which isn't far off what you get using the Nationwide flex account card(remember no charges with this card). On X-E website it's 70.26 and this morning the Bangkok bank rates were cash 68.64, T/C's 69.54.No need to use cash nowadays or T/C's as the Nationwide card is the way to go with a top rate.I do take some cash just for emergencies, but my first choice is definitely the Nationwide Flex account card.

Flipper House vs. Flipper Lodge
THE_DRUID replied to Tengotodo's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I don't know about Flipper lodge,i've only stayed at their sister hotel Flipper house, and that was 2 years ago. However i booked my room at flipper house via e-mail,and didn't pay a depoit, just payed weekly when i got there.Unless they've changed their policy then i imagine it's the same now.Just send them an e-mail.They have always beeen pretty prompt replying.www.flippergroups.com is their website. Alright Flighty, have they given a reason why it's been changed to 9 in the morning rather than 9 at night? I'm flying in June from manchester, but the leg of the flight you mention is the Bkk TO AD one.Is this change unprecedented or does it happen often?
