  1. I stayed there in October and it is excellent value for money. There's only 12 rooms there so book early. I can see it being a repeat place to stay for many people.I am booked in there again for January.

  4. If you do go down the route of taking T/C's from the UK.then Lloyds /TSB do comission free cheques as long as you order them by telephone and pick them up at your local branch(if you order them in the branch then their is a charge). As has been mentioned the higher the denomination the better.Lloyds/TSB's highest denomination T/C's are £200.BTW you'll need to have a Lloyds/TSB Bank account to order these. 5. The following is the official Thai government list of public and bank holidays in Thailand for 2011. Where the actual date of the holiday falls on a weekend, a substitute day has been granted on the Monday as a day’s holiday. Although this is the official list, some companies and businesses in Thailand may also close for additional local or regional celebrations, for example the Chinese Lunar New Year (Thursday, February 3, 2011). January January 1 (Saturday) - New Year’s Day January 3 (Monday) - Substitution day holiday for New Year February February 18 (Friday) - Makha Bucha Day
  6. Maybe it's because England represents the England & Wales Cricket board(ECB) and in past and present English/Irish/Scottish and Welsh players have represented England in Test matches not to mention Players born in South Africa and from other commonwealth countries. The SWALEC stadium Cardiff hosted the opening Ashes Test in 2009.As well as having a first class county(Glamorgan) in the 2nd Division of the county championship their is a lot of support for Test Cricket in the Principality. Can't wait for the Ashes to begin.......Bring it on....

  10. Thanks for that tallguy.I've just ordered it from Abe Books in the USA.It's the hardback version and it was 63p(US$1) plus P&P was £4.06 (US$6.44).So it's cost me £4.69(US$7.44) in total. The seller says it's in good condition and will take around 30 days delivery time from Florida to UK.
  11. The Following is a review from Amazon.com(USA)
  12. I have been after that book for a while and have been monitoring various websites looking as to when it may become available. As for most things everyone has got a limit on what they will pay for anything.I have had 'Woman Of Bangkok' in my Amazon wish list for a while and their is one copy(Used) available on the Amazon UK website but the seller wants a whopping £22.95 plus there's the £2.75 P&P.Here's the link if anyone is interested. Woman Of Bangkok -Jack Reynolds

  15. I saw a bloke yesterday afternoon walking past Sandy Spring hotel here in Funtown wearing a Black footy shirt with Topps Tiles emblazoned on the front(sponsor)Upon getting a closer look at the badge it was in fact Leicester City's away top.He was walking with a TG,possibly coinciding a bit of extra curricular activity along with following his team!!
  16. True, interest starts from the day you withdraw but as many Posters have said it's only 1% which is the same as what The Nationwide are charging(via Visa) until the increase from November 1st.At the end of the day if you use internet banking then you can clear the Bill a.s.a.p.instead of waiting until your monthly Credit Card statement arrives.Somebody on another 'Money orientated' thread on one of the boards mentioned being in credit with your credit card to avoid the interest charges.Well i phoned the Halifax and asked about this and they said they won't let your credit card go in to credit
  17. Read my post #8 on this thread Danboy.Halifax Clarity credit Card is the way to go.
  18. Thanks for a very informative update grs90.I will also be doing the same as you when i get to Funtown (October) and open a Kasikorn Bank account.I too have got the 'new' Halifax Clarity credit Card and appreciate your update on the usage info over in Los regarding fees and ex rates. One thing i'll do though (to by-pass the 150 baht Thai ATM charge) is get cash advances 'Over the counter' at exchange booths. Just one quick question. Re: Kasikorn Bank Account...Do you know whether you have to leave a minimum amount of Baht in the account to keep it active?
