  1. Another thing worth recalling is that you can leave baggage at the Left Luggage Office at the airport and only take what you want and this may mean carry on baggage which is a real bonus.
  2. Sorry Jacko but this is what he said, Draft beer ain't for me but I'm sure all the cheap charlies will love it. The reality is that there is no correlation between drinking draft beer and being a Cheap Charlie. There are many boardies here drink draft beer (and water and juice). There are some good reasons other than price. It appears to have a much lower alcohol level than bottled beer and it is also less carbonated so if you like to do some long term drinking it is perfect. On the basis of its alcohol level I would also point out that it is possibly the same price assuming that you are paying for the alcohol rather than the water. I also accept that some places do have draft as a lure to get you in the door and that's fine by me. There are a lot of places to visit that are only worth one drink and then its upwards and onwards. I will also say that in some places I would rather drink battery acid than draft beer because it is rank however there are some places consistently good including FLB, PBG, Babydolls Private Dancer, Mistys, Sapphire, Baccara, The Office, Queen, Champagne, and XZone to name a few. In view of the guy who made this post only seems to write about and to laud PD I am amazed that he is trying to single out draft drinkers to be of no consequence. Is he saying that draft drinkers should give this place a miss because they are nor welcome?
  3. Things to bear in mind. AA Check the weight limits for baggage. Could surprise you. Make sure that you check AA add on's such as excess baggage and that the ticket price includes all the airport fees. Make sure that you are always well on time as there are no rules of forgiveness! Other than these items I think that travelling AA is great but for the best deals open an on-line account and pre book.
  4. can't you understand that some people like draught beer? I would also point out that PD knows how to look after their beer and I have never had a bad one there.
  5. Really sad to read about the demise of Byblos. This place was IMHO the best in Pattaya some years ago and am sure there are some that will recall when it was on three floors and had possibly the raunchiest show in Pattaya. In addition to that they had a resident strong man that I got to know a bit and this was no act. He was as strong as an ox and neither tall or massive.
  6. I refuse to respond direct to some of the idiotic posts but IMHO if these detractors had ever been to the X Zone he would be aware that the drink prices there are possibly the lowest of any gogo in Pattaya. The post by The Fuck Wit deserves censure but then again as he is never likely to see the place its his loss and I guess that we have to be sorry for his inability to be grateful for a bar owner posting direct and wanting to add to the entertainment scene in Pattaya. That was a trully dreadful post and a line like this... ...She is a crap singer and the Agogo owner wants her to perform in his crap bar where degenerates go. ...should have seen you taking a holiday from the board. You are a total degenerate yourself by you own admission so perhaps you would enjoy this place more than any of us.
  7. Well after reading this response I am buggered why you are saving your brain cells!
  8. Religion aside, a very successful man once told me, "I never tell lies. There are so many lie options that I would never remember which one I used but there is only one truth". As I get older and more forgetful I realise the wisdom of this viewpoint.
  9. I think that some of you guys need to chill a little. Here is a place trying to introduce some live entertainment into a gogo setting. It's different and we need to give it a try before we get nagative. I would also point out that night club singer are totally different from stage acts. These people have to compete with chatting people, many half boozed, clinking glasses and of course too much smoke in the air. There might be a case for criticism if there was a cover charge and if any one had actually heard her perform at the X Zone but the fact that this is free and that she hasn't even started yet means that I believe people should suspend judgment until they have been there. I would also mention that some club performers have the ability to draw in the punters and almost have them joining the act. This is a special skill and again can only be judged by being there. Book me a "Ring Side Table" Nev!
  10. I have been looking for a place like this to eat at in Pattaya. I will certainly look this place over. As a side issue I often like a good English breakfast at dinner time and I think that in the same soi there is a place called Palmers. It gave me on a few occasions one of the best value brekkies in Pattaya
  11. This a game that anyone can play. Simply imagine what the great good and stupid might have said when the light dawned. To get you started: Fuck Me! You want me to put what in my mouth Bill? Monica Lewinski Fuck Me! New socks and shoes ruined! King Canute. Fuck Me! I can only buy shoes by the pair? Long John Silver. Fuck Me! Not a bloody virgin in sight! Osama bin Laden. Fuck Me! 2000 baht for a short time! Gabor. Fuck Me! Doors? Curtains? Walls? There has to be a better name! Bill Gates. Fuck Me! Where is Betty Crocker when you need her? King Alfred.
  12. LOL...............No I think that he may still be there?
  13. Two things. As has been pointed out people go to bars and drink whatever they fancy. There are thousands of Asians and Arabs that never touch the stuff. If however you just don't want to visit places that sell booze then whoever suggested that you visit Pattaya is no friend of yours! Head off to Bangkok as there are more temples, palaces, museums, night markets, and alternative entertainment.
  14. I am sure that if I kept looking I would find the amount mentioned however this week Forbes wrote: As the Cup defender, Ellison got to choose the yachts for the next contest and he stuck with multihulls, distressing traditionalists who favored single-hulled boats. He also pushed for massive changes in the sport of sailing, creating electronic boundary lines for the racecourse and equipping the boats with lights and monitors and using on-course penalties instead of the traditional after-race protest hearing. He spent an estimated $300 million on the series, including two 72-footers (one capsized and was almost destroyed in the training phase) and elaborate television production facilities for coverage that went mostly unwatched in the U.S., where sailing is still a niche sport.
  15. I am sure that we all know the logic of times like this but life is never so easy. I know that when the "Red Mist" descends and you are out of control that logic and common sense goes out the window. I somehow think that there is some basic instinct coming into play here. Almost anyone is capable of losing it when a combination of loss of pride, unfairness, all fuelled by booze kicks in. I think that all over the world at this minute people are losing it purely on principal and logic has no part of it.
  16. A piece of crap in Thailand is a piece of crap wherever you are, as in a rose is a rose is a ...
  17. It was a brilliant regatta and went to the final bell with the last scheduled race the decider. I saw every race and reflected that in the past I would have called it 'Watching Paint Dry" but this was spectacular. In the final analysis it was a disaster in that the money required to compete kept most people away and only three teams competed. It is thought that Ellison spent up to one billion dollars on the defence! There really is no future for a sport where talent comes second to money.
  18. When you read these forums there is no doubt this this happens. It is possibly a warning for you to take notice of. I have either been lucky or maybe I phrased my emails in an understandable manner but I have had a good time of it and generally speaking get responses inside the same day. I think that because of the number of places to stay in town I am happy to forget about the non responders and move on. There was however a case earlier this month where the people were so brilliant in responding, in both speed, content and follow up, that I will be calling in to see them next time in town and will seriously think of using the place.
  19. There have been some recent threads about all the possible ED medicines. Suggest that you search" Kamagara "and I feel sure that you will get a heap of feed back.
  20. You are right about the NZ appreciation against the AUS $ however it more because the Aussie was over valued. Whilst there has been an approx 8 cents gain against it there is no more than a cent gain against the US$ in the same time frame. Because of this frustration we have to take out aggresion out on the footy field.
  21. I cannot answer your question however I would comment. I was a bit surprised a couple of weeks ago at the problems of opening up new accounts in my little country. I was opening a new bank account and an online brokerage account and the paperwork is endless. Eight pages for the bank account, notorised passport, account with home address and so on and endless rigmarole for the share trading. All this is the result of recent laws to curb money laundering. If its happening here I guess that this must be universal. The bank even supplied me with a one time code machine that is required every time I log on.
  22. Me too Whitney. Thanks for the review. Seems I am on the same flight as you and get into BK at 10.50--a great time and better than getting into Pattaya t midnight. Looking forward to any more comments that you might have.
  23. Over the years I have come across some great definitions of USELESS and find the image of some of them really amusing. Here are a few to get you going; As useless as a chocolate fireguard. As useless as a chocolate teapot. As useless as a cat flap on a submarine. As useless as an ashtray on a motorbike. As useless as fertilising your garden with rocking horse shit.
  24. I was interested to read about this but seems that this is a good case study in shooting yourself in the foot. Bizarre. Perhaps even business people get pissed when they post!
  25. 10 REASONS TO USE A BAHT BUS. I have to admit to being a great supporter of the baht bus system. Over the last few years and literally hundreds of trips I can honestly say: 1. I have never been knowingly conned by a driver and never been asked for a taxi fare when I had taken a baht bus. 2. I have had the situation where the bus has left Beach Road before getting to Walking Street but it happens so rarely that its no issue. If this happens I sometime choose not to pay and that has never been an issue either. 3. I have "Used" baht buses as cheap sight seeing. For instance I have paid my 20 baht and got onto the Jomtien bus and stayed there till it got to the end of the line. A great way to see a bit of Pattaya. I have done this in many parts of the world and its a restful and cheap way of seeing how the average person lives rather than just seeing what the city centres look like. 4. I have once been pick pocketed but made so much noise that other BB drivers got in on the act and I got my money back. I was happy with the lesson and have since changed my attitude to money safety. 5. I have heard of many being hurt on motor bikes and scooters but never in a baht bus. I am sure that it happens but then so do lightning strikes! 6. I have picked up girls on a baht bus but never on a MBT! 7. I am on holiday. My time is my own and if I have a slow journey into town then it is fine by me. If I do get frustrated then walking some of the way is no issue. 8. At 10 baht a trip I know that I will never get a bargain like that anywhere else I visit and its not like I have to wait more than a minute or two for the next bus. 9. I would rather be in a baht bus than on a MBT when they have one of those Pattaya downpours. 10. What a wonderful mode of transport when you have been drinking. No stress, no hassle and I have never had a TG tell me that using a baht bus was unacceptable.
