Emil, The bus works well but as an old git with an enlarged prostate, I like the ability to stop along the way to take a piss. Plus I smoke and enjoy a few beers on the way down. PS: For the ladyboy aficionado's on this forum. Not that kind of smoke.
-
I'm happy that it's a little closer to Pattaya then Chon Buri. Now I know how much to give the Baht bus driver. Emil, I haven't smoked any of that stuff since 73. My "Vietnam years". One BG I know in BKK wants to turn me on to Thai sticks. Those were the days.

Just curious, don't you think your travel agent is the one who should have the answer to your question? If you paid by credit card. Your covered because they didn't deliver on what they promised. Call and then write a letter to your cc.

I got my information off of Starwood.com website. It shows the location in Chon Buri not Pattaya. I assume the info is correct. Maybe not. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/sea...cdee5701&ZM=out

Rockin, It was moved after my post.

It's located outside of Pattaya in Chon Buri. I wonder if I should pay 5 baht or 10 baht to the baht bus driver?
-
There is a section called airline deals please post this there.

I've had a change in plans and will be leaving from Westin on Sukhumvit and I can leave anytime on the 19 or 20th. Anyone want to share Alex taxi?
-
The www.flipperlodge.com will float your swimming needs. Both hotels are good places to stay. Eastiny on Soi 8 another good place with pool.

Turn left on 2nd Road from South Pattaya Road coming from Beach Rd and on the far side there is a CD shop that has software upstairs. Further down 2nd Road same side is a computer store.
-
Did you cancel with Alex?

I accept. I was surprised that McNabb didn't scramble as this would have confused the Pats defense and caused them to play closer to the line of scrimmage. What the hell do I know, I was just glad they made it to the big show.
-
JohnnyK, Thanks for the barfine. When you in town next. Good game but McNabb needed to scramble more. Maybe next year.
-
I would live in Pattaya for at least a year before I bought anything.IMHO living in a town is a lot different then being on vacation. Major water shortage in Pattaya/Jomtiem is here NOW and the Thai's have only just begun thinking about how to deal with this. Traffic is getting worse and will soon be a nightmare. Last but not least Thailand is looking to get rid of their image of being the "whorehouse of the world" and will redirect there tourism goals toward the Asian family market. Damn after reading this, I think I'm gonna stick my head in the oven. 13 days till wheels UP.

www.travelocity.com is showing availability and pricing for this flight. Price $967. LAX-BKK, ORD-BKK I would think as soon as they get more airplanes they will add these to their schedule.

Each country has it's share of yobs. Fortunately it's a long expensive plane ride for our yobs to make.
-
MJKidd, I'll be sitting at home watching on my 55" wide screen high definition TV. I expect McNabb to scramble more then he has all season. Eagles win by 14.

doolish, Good luck on your move. I hope you give us a few updates as to how everything works out.

Hooters Air Hooters Air, a small airline that began flying in early 2003, is expanding its service this winter. The airline has begun flying between Rockford, IL, and Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, and Myrtle Beach. And, in late February, Hooters Air will fly between Pittsburgh and Myrtle Beach. The new routes will start at $99 one-way. Though its service is limited, Hooters Air is emerging as a legitimate low-fare carrier. Like JetBlue and Southwest, the airline sells its airfares one-way, and most fares do not require advance purchase or a Saturday-night stay. Hooters Air also features one-class cabins and leather seats. www.hooterair.com home of the big boob flight attendants.

I stand corrected on the frequent flyer miles. Good deal even got better. -

No frequent flyer miles available on this deal. -
In the meeting section check the reliable car and driver. Many services listed. I use Alex and never had a problem with him not showing. Other guys have. For the guy who knows his way around Pattaya grabbing a taxi at the airport is no problem. If you don't know your way around you can spend hours looking for your hotel. Cabby's don't know their way around Pattaya.

Guy in another thread asked about taxi from the airport to Pattaya. I figured I revive this.

The following works way better in low season and if your a long stay guest anything over two weeks is considered long stay. I do this two weeks before I leave. I email the manager and I find out his email address as he's the one who can discount rooms without asking anyone else plus he knows the occupancy rate during this time period. I go to their website and get the cheapest price and then I cut it by 50% when I send my email. I let them know I'm a member of their frequent guest program. I also tell him that I'm sending emails to the other 4 or 5 star properties in town and the first hotel that gets back to me at the price I want gets my business. I also tell him I'm traveling for pleasure not business as I'm paying for the room not my company. I have always found at least one or two hotels will come close to what I want to pay. Last June, I could have stayed at the Conrad in BKK for $55USD per night. I payed $58 at the old Westin.
