  1. I attended the TEXT & TALK course in Pattaya. Excellent instructor. It's worth the money.
  2. Last trip I used hotel points to stay two nights at the Westin. They have the best hotel mattress I've ever used. Better mattress then what I have a home. As far as the facilities go, I didn't use them. I would assume they will be first rate. Drink prices at the bar would make one choke. Five star property with prices to match.
  3. If your looking at the high end, I've stayed at the Marriott Royal Garden. THEY ARE GIRL FRIENDLY. Your on Beach Road in the middle of everything. Five minute walk to Walking Street. Book a double.
  4. Be careful buying cheap tickets with Thai and SQ as they don't offer frequent flyer miles. I've read that Thai is changing their policy on ff miles.
  5. What can I say? Last April 22 I looked into the BigDUSA crystal ball and pulled out of the air that Thai would start non stop service LAX-BKK later this year. Guess what? It came true. Once again I'm looking into the crystal ball and it's starting to clear..... What do I see, a narrow minded guy with no sense of humor and his name is CheshireTom.
  6. How sweet it is. Vindicated at last.
  7. Thanks for the "heads up" on this potential rip off.
  8. Check out www.ajarn.com
  9. You might get jammed up because your close to the weekend where many hotels can be booked out. Check out www.majesticsuites.com Hotel is around the corner from Nana, girl friendly, in room safe. I've stayed there many times. Great place to stay.
  10. What gangs? I'm sorry I won't be in town during your stay as I like to run young guys into the ground in the pursuit of ........................... I'm in town 14 October thru 30 October.
  11. With a all new state of the art air frame, I'm surprised the delay is not longer. As far as passenger loads go as soon as the airlines can put 800 on the plane they will do it. Share holders will demand it.
  12. No worries, it's only a gay place if you invite guys into your bed room
  13. Walking from 2nd Rd on soi 1 toward Beach Rd on the right side almost next to the Markland Hotel is a 3 or 4 story apartment building that has nice studio room for around 6k plus utilities. Cable TV, ac, fridge, clean. Excellent Thai couple manage the building. Worth your time to check it out.
  14. This place is highly recommended. Good place to stay. I have never stayed there but I have visited guys who have. Nice rooms , good location.
  15. It would be nice if they told you the location on Beach Road? Thai style, guess where we are.
  16. Check out the www.flippergroup.com Excellent location, girl friendly, good rooms and in the middle of all the action on soi 7 & 8. Pig & Whistle and Eastiny are in the same price range in the same soi's. I've stayed in all of them and would do so again.
  17. You can't go far wrong if you start out on Walking Street and work your way back to your hotel. Only 3000 other bars between you and your hotel. Pace yourself and enjoy.
  18. We have a guy in Pennsylvania who's a millionaire setting in jail for the last 6 years for doing something similar. Judge has told him he holds the keys to his cell but the jerk off would rather sit in jail then share the wealth with his wife. Ozzie guy deserved what he got and his girl friend got what she deserved.
  19. Widespread severe water shortage all over the Pattaya region. Thai's have only begun to think about how to deal with this. Something to think about before you invest your money.
  20. This trip was a frequent flyer ticket and you get no air miles when I was rerouted they placed me on US Air metal and I was checking my mileage total on UA and US Air made a mistake and credited my account with 4700 air miles.
  21. Cheap Charley almost had a heart attack when I checked the "special opening rates" $120USD per night. I wonder if they are guest friendly? At these prices who cares?
  22. I remember reading the LAX-BKK nonstop someplace, I just don't remember where? If Thai doesn't offer frequent flyer miles with the cheapest of the cheap tickets, I wouldn't fly with them as UA still offers ff miles in the cheap seats. I've used Thai for award tickets and have been very pleased with the service.
  23. Why has Southwest Air been a consistent money maker up until this last quarter?
  24. Cheap Charley side of me cringes at the thought of pissing money away but I was having such a great time in Pattaya, I didn't mind doing it. Almost.
  25. I booked Air France on Expedia in the US for $225 BKK-MNL. R/T all taxes included.
