About three or four stores down from Sky-Top before you get to Gregg's kitchen is a travel agent who actually has a ticket machine and issues tickets. Competitive prices and you get the tickets in your hand and they accept credit cards with passport.

http://www.udonmap.com/ Good info, check it out.

As a "sniff, sniff" Premier Executive, I've had good luck with UA with my PHL-BKK award trips. Next trip I'm burning up almost all my USAir miles. I fly UA out and Thai back to LA and USAir back to PHL. I've got miles with NW & Delta to use before they go belly up. BTW, SQ is the best airline back in the cheap seats and the stews are to die for. Damn they are good looking.

I've stayed at the Majestic Suites many times and Bob the manager was first rate with regards to customer service and his staff was very well trained. I was taken aback when one guy had problems at the new hotel. Grande looks nice but it's out of my price range.

EVA has $525+ return starting in September on www.travelocity.com

Gee, it was printed in a book, so it's gotta be true. No I haven't read the book but one wonders if these "allegations" had merit the cyclist judging authority would have been all over Mr Armstrong like shit on a stick. He did win the last race didn't he? I guess there may be nothing to this book full of "allegations" and no proof or he wouldn't have been allowed to race. That won't stop you from trying to tear him down a peg or two. Will it?
-
I take it, your point is they can print "allegations" and at the end of the day all they are is "allegations" with no proof that he took these drugs. So what?

I bring cash, atm, cc cards and tc in reserve. I like having a few different ways to get money.

He's a guy with a narrow viewpoint of the world and he's a nit picker who thinks by casting dispersions on anyone who's accomplished any thing brings them down to his level. I've known a few guys like him and once you get to know them you avoid them like the plague.

Do you have the guys email, phone number? Does he speak good English? What type of car? It's a good thing to have as many car services listed as we can.
-
I've stayed at the www.majesticsuites.com and can recommend it highly. It has in room safe.

Thai has a shoe box club in Osaka. I doubt if they have shower faculties? Prices from the east coast are starting to break for October-November time frame. UA is still sky high. Check out Delta.

Inexpensive resorts in Phuket for peak season?

Check out www.latestays.com I've been told Expat hotel at 490 is a OK place on the cheap end. I've never stayed there myself. -
Good hotels near the beach.
BigDUSA replied to mickylaw's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Steve, Sky-Top is located on 2nd Road. It's the same length as walking from 2nd Road to Beach Road on Soi 8. I realize a man of your advanced years (he's the guy you see in the walker with the big smile and the pretty 19 y/o nurse ) may have a small difficulty making that long long walk. -
Good hotels near the beach.

On the cheap end check out www.skytoppattaya.com rooms with ac, cable TV and fridge go for 450 per night and up. One block from the beach. Clean decent hotel for the price. Pete the Aussie owner will discount. Another good place a little closer to the beach www.flippergroup.com and at a higher price. -
I thought that poaching mamasans and staff were one of the biggest no-no in the bar business and could cause serious physical problems for the owner doing it?
-
Star Alliance carriers only use round trip. These tickets are good for a year. I would be surprised if anyone offered one way at a discounted rate.

Depends on what your coming to Thailand for. If you want to see palaces, historical sites then stay in BKK and you will have a good time. On the other hand if you want fun in the sun. Beat it on down to Pattaya from the airport. Pre book your hotel and enjoy. Do one or the other as the travel time will eat you up.
-
Now if I can book this for 1K per night, Sky-Top has lost a customer.
-
If you know your way around Pattaya, taxi works fine. If not check out the Meeting Section and look for reliable car and driver. Many services are listed. I've used Alex service many times and have been satisfied. Other who have used him were not satisfied. Check out the reviews and make your own decision.

Some hotels on soi 7 & 8 have stay for 14 and pay for 10 during low season. I always negotiate with the manager and not the staff at the front desk. Manager knows what his occupancy rate is and has the authority to cut prices. Even with hotels I don't like to overpay.

Hotels with Discreet entrances ?
BigDUSA replied to bongojona's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
There is no walk of shame. It's important for guys to stop at the desk and have the BG hand over her ID card and make sure the staff at reception calls you when the BG comes down to collect the card on her way out. It's for your protection. -
Check out www.expedia.com for September departure and scroll far down the hotel package for Woodland Inn. Amazing price if the hotel is OK. Prices are starting to drop from PHL-BKK on Delta/Korean around $966.
-
I just received an email from Alex and he explained he was having problems with his email account, it's all squared away. Please send your request for pickup again. With the price of gas going up he had to raise his price to 1850. alex@travel4bangkok.com 09-8292911 (m)

About a year ago, my wife flew with them. She said it was ok. What kind of deals are they offering from the US?
