  1. Guy called from the Midwest and I told him about the fare. He booked MPS-BKK for $606. all in. Book it now.
  2. If as you say, you are Harris Canada, the number of BG lined up outside the Day/Night Hotel with pitchforks should be quite a sight.
  3. It was used as a US Air Force Base during the Vietnam war.
  4. Amazing price PHL-BKK $620. RT 8 Oct-22 Oct. I don't know about other airports.
  5. When ever I book on line, I wait about an hour then I call to request exit row seats with UA and go over my reservation with the sales rep. I had a few mistakes and they were easily rectified over the phone.
  6. PM, BigKev, he's a clothes horse who has a excellent tailor.
  7. I didn't mention my favorite cheap hotel www.skytoppattaya.com because you wanted soi 7 or 8 but since someone else mentioned it, I'll expand on his answer. It's cheap, clean with AC,TV, fridge and in room safe. It's about a 10 minute walk to soi 7 and two minutes to sleazy soi 6. Excellent location, one block from the beach. Cost 450 and up. Try and book room 101. Big room.
  8. Do a google on the Pig & Whistle restaurant and hotel. Excellent location on soi 7 with in room safe. No joiner fee. I've stayed there twice and it's a good buy. The flippergroup.com is another two hotels on soi 7 & 8. No in room safe. God buy. BOOK YOUR ROOM NOW!!!!!!
  9. Check out Yensabai Condo, www.pattayarentaroom.com It's close to the VC Hotel about a 15 minute walk to Walking Street. Large studio with kitchenette, shower fits at least 4, 25"TV, fridge and in room safe. Big pool. I've stayed there twice. Good place.
  10. morrisf brings up a good point about some hotels are two and three stories high. I think the tallest in the hotel district is 16 stories tall. Pig & Whistle is 5, Queen Vic is 3 and Sky-Top is 4 give or take 1. You will have street noise and smells of food carts till 2AM plus. Sabai Inn has less noise and another good place to stay.
  11. What hotels do you like up that way? It's always good to have a wider selection of cheap hotels?
  12. Since this is your first trip, I would suggest staying at hotels that are owned by guys from England and Oz. You can get some good info from these guys. They are all less then 700 per night. Do a google on Pig & Whistle, Queen Victoria Inn and Sky-Top. All good places, excellent location.
  13. Is that the one on soi 8? If it is, I haven't stayed there but I went thru one of the suites and it looked nice.
  14. I've strived my entire life for this and have the physic to prove it.
  15. It certainly could have been longer then a year. It kind of funny the trips tend to run together.
  16. I had a friend of mine stay there about a year ago. He liked it. Good location on 2nd Road.
  17. Uncle Charley on soi 9 or 11 about 10 meters down on the left. Great steaks and chops. She's only open on Tuesday & Thursday. Well worth the money. Gregs kitchen on 2nd Road, four shops down from Sky-Top. Good food and prices.
  18. Why do you want it locked. You just posted up to date info July 25. Is that out of date? What am I advertising. Your post doesn't make sense??? Many of these car services are still in business. Email them and if they don't respond quickly email again, then try another. Some of the services are single driver or they subcontract. Many guys haven't had any problem other's have. This is Thailand and your mileage may vary as far as reliability goes.
  19. Just remember don't tell them which hotel you're going to until they pick you up at the airport. Save yourself some drama if you change your mind and use someone else. Quote. Guy in another thread gave this advice to another member about stiffing a car service. If you change your mind or delay your arrival at least have the decency to email the car company and cancel the pickup.
  20. I arrive on UA 881 at 11 PM on 12 October and have booked a ride with Alex. Anyone want to share a ride?
  21. I have the box, tag, etc in mint condition from when I bought my Rolex. How much is it worth to you? I can bring it on my October trip if I can find the box it's packed away in.
  22. For a Pattaya Mexican restaurant Tequila Reef is just OK. I've eaten the steak there many times and it like many things in LOS varies. I've had good and I''ve had very bad. The management is very gracious and have either replaced or removed from the bill the offending meat. One time I was with Pukky my favorite BG and I complained and they didn't charge me. She was surprised and told me if we were in a Thai joint the waitress would very well have accused me of trying to beat the bill if I was a Thai guy. Seems like there a side of Thailand as farangs we don't see.
  23. With the price of jet fuel going thru the roof, all the old rules may be out the window. At this time last year, I could book PHL-BKK on United for $695 return including taxes. this was for October departure. Now they want $1100-1400. That said I would wait until October-November to book.
  24. You would have a hard time spending 5K each month.
  25. Last time I was in Changi, SQ wouldn't allow Star Alliance Gold Card holder into this club. They had another lounge that was really lame compared to Silver Kris Club. I snuck into it. Nice with a smoking room and big screen tv.
