I'm 59 but when I get off the plane, I feel like I'm 38 with a gleam in my eye and soon to be relieved hard on.

I'm so sorry, it's a few yards away from Soi Cowboy. Your point being? -
Hotel near Soi Cowboy Bangkok
BigDUSA replied to marcortez's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Check out www.bkktonite.com for up to date info on BKK. Soi Cowboy has a Sky-Train Station on the corner. Opens up all the hotels along Sukimvit(s). I like Majestic Suites. Cheap and clean with in room safe. Book early no matter what hotel you choose. -
When it comes to driving a car or motorcycle in a foreign country. I like to be legal. Insurance companies look for any reason not to pay claims and if I get stopped by a cop this cuts out a large area for me to have to pay a bribe. It's not hard to get a Thai drivers license. How long are you staying in LOS? What usage are you planning around town or criss crossing the country. Around town used works well. No matter what, I'd buy from a dealer and try and get a written buy back. Personally I like new as I know everything is fresh and works well.

Good price, I hope UA does a price match from Philly.

November 21 2005 at 08:04AM Bangkok - Bangkok will next year host the 2nd World Toilet Expo & Forum, deemed the "prime mover" in global toilet technology events, organisers said on Monday. "We hope the event will be a catalyst and facilitate Thailand towards the progressive development and standardisation of public toilet services," said Jack Sim, founder of the World Toilet Organisation (WTO), not to be confused with the World Trade Organisation or the World Tourism Organisation. The WTO, launched by Sim in 2001, has selected Bangkok for its 2nd exhibition in the latest toilet technology and forum on toilet culture to be held on November 16 to 18, 2006, at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre. Thai Deputy Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the toilet expo would boost Thailand's image and enhance the country's role as "the venue of choice for international conferences." "Governments everywhere realise that toilets are the competitive edge of the nation," Singaporean Sim told a press conference. "People who are healthy produce more," he expounded. "If you have better toilets you will have more tourists," the WTO chief added. The 1st World Toilet Expo was held in May, this year, in Shanghai, China, drawing 250 participants from 20 countries. Sapa-dpa I would suggust you book this baby now. This is going to be a tough ticket to get.

Selling your UK house to move to LOS?

I'm just curious, why come after me? When Niall posted first and said what I said. I'm glad your rentals worked out for you. Hub, Yes. -
Selling your UK house to move to LOS?
BigDUSA replied to Lancashirelad's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I sold ours in the preparation for the move to LOS. Niall is 100% correct. If you don't live within 5 miles of your rental. You will get fucked. -
I can imagine the same sentiments were expressed 35 years ago when the 747 was introduced.

Best value hotels in Bangkok
BigDUSA replied to torrenova's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Check this out, I found it on www.bkktonite.com http://www.bangkoksuite.com 650 per night, 6 months old. Good location according to the map. I haven't stayed there but looks good. -
US is near the end of trade negotiations with LOS. This would be great if the US joined this. I like the 90 day visa. I plan on writing my elected officials and see if they can but a bug up the State Departments ass on this issue. They are always looking to make business easier for US business. Hell if they will let Chile and Peru in why not us. Aren't we universally loved by one and all on this planet.

Exotic Animal Meats on VIP Menu at Zoo Wed Nov 16,11:17 PM ET BANGKOK, Thailand - VIP guests at the grand opening of the night safari zoo in northern Thailand will not only get to see exotic animals — they'll get to taste them. The Chiang Mai Night Safari Zoo will have its official opening on New Year's Day, and the "Exotic Buffet" marking the event will include tiger, lion, elephant and giraffe, said Plodprasop Suraswadi, the director of the zoo project. "The VIP guest who pay 4,500 baht ($110) for the buffet will have the privilege of tasting an exotic menu, ranging from dog meat from (Thailand's Sakhon Nakhon province) to lion meat from Africa," Plodprasop told reporters. Critics have lambasted the idea, saying that it will encourage wildlife trafficking in a country and region already notorious for smuggling tiger parts, bear claws and endangered species for Chinese delicacies, traditional medicines and pets. "Serving rare animals on the table confirms that Thailand is ignoring policies for wildlife preservation," said Wildlife Fund Thailand secretary Suraphol Duangkae. "Thailand's image is already bad for trading animals and being a transit and laundering point (for smugglers)," Suraphol said. "The zoo will make only the image worse by serving rare animals." Kenya said last week it will give Thailand 175 wild animals — including African buffalo, various species of antelope, zebra and giraffe — as a gift to strengthen relations, but conservationists voiced concern that Thailand does not have a good track record of wildlife management and conservation. The project, based on Singapore's Night Safari Zoo, will have 2,000 animals of about 100 different species.

Other then that, it's great.

I can only offer second hand info from a guy I know who lived there for 3 months. He liked it as he's a beach bum and for him this was the main attraction. Prices were cheaper. There is action available. You need a motorbike to get around. The only reason he left, he was getting ready to head off to Japan for a few months. Travel time he did mention it and if I remember correctly it was 45 minutes by motorbike.

He must have met me last month at the Alamo. -
I like the www.pattayarentaroom.com Yensabai condo which is a 12 minute walk to Walking Street. Cost 499 per night. Big studio room with in room safe, fridge, 25" TV, pool. Excellent value for the money. Pig & Whistle on soi 7 and www.skytoppattaya.com on 2nd Road meet all your requirements except #1. They are about a 10 minute ride somewhat more on a baht bus if theres heavy traffic. Sky-Top is 1 block from Beach Road. I've stayed at both and they are good value.

OK it's suck up time. The FLB could be used as a case study at Harvard B school on how to run a bar right. Pete made the right move when he hired Ben as the day to day manager. Ben has the right personality and charisma to keep customers coming back. The service staff are quick, efficient and theres no hassle with the bill. The staff in back of the bar look and act like they enjoy working at the FLB. Their well trained and it shows. If I owned the FLB, I'd do the following. When a customer sets down, I would have the mamasan wait two minutes so the guy can get situated and have a couple of sips of his drink. I would have the mamasan greet him and ask if he would like some company. This gives the customer options and I like that. Second, I would lower the volume on the music so the customer can speak without having to raise is voice. Pete ran a smooth customer centric bar and it showed. He sold it for a profit.

At one time I used to own GE stock. GE was very good to me. If I ever invest in the market again. GE would be at the top of my list assuming my research justified buying it.

We on the other side of the pond hope they use GE or Pratt & Whitney.
