  1. I'd like to apply for a job as your on site property manager. I can start this Friday as I arrive Pattaya around 6PM.
  2. www.skytoppattaya.com doesn't require credit card info for reservation and they will hold the room as late as necessary.
  3. My wife's flown with them a few times in business class (she's not a cheap Charley like I am). She was satisfied with the service.

Teaching English is a great way to get your foot in the door. Once your local and get to know your way around, job opportunities open up. One thing you will have to do is learn polite Thai and not the BG version.
  5. I'm arriving BKK on 20 January on Thai 0791, JFK-BKK at 4:05PM. I'm looking for a ride to Pattaya on that day from the airport or 21 January around noon from downtown. What's your availability?. BTW the cheaper ride is more then fine. I don't need no 'fancy truck' to haul my butt to Pattaya.

Now I remember who you are. I know a guy who works for GM, Thailand, I'll try and hook up with him next week (I like the sound of next week) and get his email address. He found his job thru monster.com
  8. doolish, Is your home in a development? Great price on a new home. I plan on visiting Udorn in the near future.

What are you qualified to do? That might give us some guidance on how to answer your question.
  10. Cheap Charley looking to share a ride from the downtown BKK and no, I won't be using Alex. I changed the day, time and location of this post. Late breaking change in my travel plans (for the better) necessitated this.
  11. I like both and for me the Sky-Train in BKK takes me to most of the places I want to go. Prices are about the same in both places for BG. I hang out in Gulliver's Tavern on soi 5 and the beer garden on soi 7. Both places loaded with FL. Around the corner is the Bamboo Bar and down the street is Nana Hotel. Pattaya has better weather then BKK. Usually a couple of degrees cooler and way less air pollution. Hotels are cheaper in Pattaya. Once somebody told me there's a beach with the ocean attached. I've never seen it myself.
  12. Here in the US they pull the money as soon as you book it. I love etickets. Don't have to worry about losing the damn things. Have them print out your itinerary when you check in and last but not least always ask if they are offering a FREE upgrade to business. I've been upgraded a few times just by asking. I also ask if they are looking for volunteers to be bumped.
  13. Check out www.skytoppattaya.com
  14. Barebones existence for 20K per month. Kick it to 30K and you can go out a couple of nights a week. Anything above 40K and the living easy. That's assuming your a cheap Charley and can manage a tight budget.
  15. Good to hear you made the move and are happy in your new town. Where is it and how big is the town?
  16. I've flown a few times with Thai and sometimes it's full and other times it's not. Ya never know.
  17. I've flown both a few times and I would go with LT. As a gold card holder, I get free access to their club.
  18. I've only eaten breakfast there. I thought it was more then decent.
  19. Your using 'western logic' and given the Thais are not big on planning for the future. Condos, hotels and housing developments are being built all over Pattaya/Jomtiem. Demand is increasing but the supply is stretched even thinner.
  20. Every time I think about buying a condo in Pattaya, two questions come up that I haven't been able to resolve. Where is all the water the new condos require going to come from and the traffic problems approach gridlock on the weekends?
  21. PM, Growler, he stayed there not long ago and he liked it.
  22. Check out the Alamo Bar on soi 8. Lots of friendly expats hang out there. Go after 3PM, Gary the owner is usually in by that time. Check out the Cherry Bar same soi.
  23. The ones who aren't afraid and when they get caught it cost a small fortune with legal fees, fines and court cost. Get caught again and you do time in the county jail, plus the legal fees, fines and court costs.
  24. Because these laws do affect us. Early closing and this will be pushed back to 10PM in the future. That's right, why because the PM wants it and he stated this about 18 months ago. LOS has a major problem with alcohol abuse including a drunk driving problem that's out of control and in their own Thai way of logic they think that limiting the hours and places one can buy booze will change peoples behavior. This only changes peoples buying habits. What they need is the strict enforcement of drink driving laws like the Europeans and the US have instituted. Almost everyone is afraid to drink and drive.
  25. On the lower end guest houses with in room safe on soi 6, Queen Victoria Inn and around the corner is Sky-Top and room 101 is large with kitchenette.
