If you buy I will rent your condo for 4 or 5 K per month. I'm looking for one and am willing to rent now.

Thanks mate. If you can post something along these lines it will be a help. Sky-top Pattaya is moving, but don't worry they are not moving to far. New shop is in the former TOURIST POLICE office right next door to former SKY-TOP shop. It will take about 2 months to complete but already making progress. The internet will reopen on 01 July and hopefully the first floor of 3-4 rooms will be done the following 4 weeks. The rooms will still have either Queen OR King bed, cable TV, aircon and fridge. The intended additions to each room is for a large mirror on ceiling, DVD player, and bigger shower/toilet and quieter rooms. Cheers Pete. The owner asked me to post the above. I like being closer to soi 6.

100% deposit Areca Lodge!!?
BigDUSA replied to Skallagrim's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Personally I wouldn't pay any hotel 100% non refundable room deposit. What happens if you get sick or family emergency and you cancel? Way to many good hotels that only require one nights deposit. -

Prices have tended to lower after September 15. With the price of gas, I'd book now. United give good service and you could always fly to JFK and fly non stop on Thai.

I try and come to Pattaya three to five times a year. I was offered early retirement when I was 44. I have a decent pension and a wife who makes way more money then I ever did. Plus investments and savings come into play. BTW my old man told me it's just as easy to fall in love with a rich women as it is a poor one. I followed his advice.

I've flown with Thai to Phuket and Bangkok Air to Cambodia. Both gave good service.

Cheap Charley luv AC and I have the electric bill here in the US to prove it. I started to bring an extra bathrobe to Pattaya. The BG luv it when I put it on her when we are about ready to go to sleep.

I disagree there are a few hotels that are cheap but good value and clean. Sky-Top and Bert's new place on soi 6.1 come to mind. Let's not forget the Queen Vic, Lord Nelson and the Pig & Whistle.

what do you think of pattaya now ?
BigDUSA replied to jasmin's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Every time I show up in Pattaya a fair number of Thai females are offered a short term employment contract with me. I try and do what I can to help the Thai economy expand. -
Get as close to the beach as your budget will allow. If you get a one room condo, I'm willing to rent it for 5K per month. I'm willing to sign a one year lease and pay you up front. Of course, I'll want one month free if I do that.

When we make the move in a year or so, I plan on donating all my stuff to charity. Let them sort it out and sell it for a profit. Anyone want to buy a 65" Mitsubishi big screen TV? I'd luv to bring that bad boy over with me.

I've been giving this some thought also. My wife is a registered nurse with years of experience leading group therapy sessions involving alcoholics and drug addicts. I figure she should have a shit load of customers in LOS. For myself I'm looking at volunteer work.

When I opened my savings account last year the lady who processed my account told me no interest for accounts held by a foreigner. Maybe they changed the banking regulations. If so, I'll sleep better tonight knowing my 1K is drawing interest.

Government is like a whore on crack they always need money. Where to go for money? Foreigners have money and with all the new condos and the various services they will need from the city and I'm thinking mainly of sewer, trash and let's not forget water then the government will tap them for taxes. It's the price of civilization. I have a savings account in Pattaya and I get no interest. They stooped paying interest on these accounts for foreigners. When my wife and I move to LOS, I plan on renting. I might buy a house for the min noi.
-
Interesting case somewhat on point. Bank's used to pay interest on foreigner bank accounts. One day they changed the law and no longer do they pay any interest. They can do the same thing with ownership of property. The reason I'm for renting, many guys who are looking to buy are pensioners and they would be tyeing up a substantial portion of their retirement nest egg. For the younger guys if they lose their investment they have years of earning potential to recover from any loss.

Cheap Charley luves the bus. Fast, efficient, ac and last but not least cheap and many times I sit next to a BG on her way back to Pattaya and chat her up. I've used it many times and strongly recommend it.

There's a huge downside to low maintenance fees. As the building gets older and the elevators need to be overhauled or the roof needs to be replaced. It going to tough to have a large maintenance fee increase approved by the condo owners. BTW property taxes are coming. Foreigners are an easy target for the local government to hit up. What are you going to do, refuse to pay?

Best BKK Hotel for Loy Krathong
BigDUSA replied to Mescalito's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I've stayed at the Sheraton Royal Orchid many times and the view of the river is first rate. -
I was looking at Thai's website and they offer September availability for $1080 RT. Decent price considering the price of jet fuel. I'm starting to get Pattaya fever.
-
No. The average in room safe is to small for a laptop.
-
Sky-Top, Yensabai Condo, Pig & Whistle all have in room safe. All good places to stay with reasonable rates.

Location, location and last but not least location is way more then 75% of making money in the real estate rental business.
