  1. Did you know Monopoly board have different streets? That made it even harder for the USA audience. The USA version looks like this:
  2. Thanks, but, aside from the 8k/mo unit, none matches the OP's 6k/mo specification. Keep working on it.
  3. I'm sure VicVegas would be happy with that, though I doubt the OP meant that. I'll not quibble about it anymore..let the reader decide. Cheers.
  4. I was remarking on the "many of the..are not shown". Are any shown? And yes, the phone is less adroit at following threads, but it's so convenient!
  5. Mistys has that package, "expat tv", it's called. They cannot show EPL games because it doesn't carry them.
  6. I'm amazed this one sat here for so long without a reply. Okay, Rex Harrison
  7. I use it all the time!
  8. Same on walking street last night and the year before. There's a video on Facebook I'll try to hook in here that shows one of those poppers that shoot foil streamers hitting the power wires and the transformer blowing and then...darkness.
  9. Many people commented that they thought it was planned. One fellow was in Sapphire when it happened and mentioned he thought it was part of the show. Credit to the power company for being able to get their truck down Walking Street with the massive number of people coming from Bali Hai. I'm wondering if the concert was cut short as well. The fireworks were very good, especially with the street dark.
  10. Google Translate app might be bundled with your phone's software. Look for "Translate" in the application list. It's not great, but it's useable. For single word translation, I've found nothing better than the app "Thaidict". It's absolutely the best I've ever seen. I think CheshireTom put me on to it during a discussion on this subject.
  11. FLB was dark for a little over an hour total with the two power outages. The first happened seconds after the midnight countdown finished. As you say, great start to 2013. Walking Street before the power went out.. After the power went out.. We still managed to carry on. Many thanks to everyone who stayed with us while we waited for lights and air con to start again.
  12. Did it include "seconds" (plate refills)? Not that I could even finish what's shown.
  13. Apply for board membership.
  14. I've made a google map that might help.... http://goo.gl/maps/ItZXo Look for the blue stick pin
  15. Consider getting the various communication programs that you might find your friends or the ladies using. These have features beyond chat in many cases..file sending, Internet phone calling, video calling, etc. I've downloaded and use whatsapp, viber, Google Talk, and Skype. That covers a lot of people I know..
  16. Seems they're hoping to start service April 1.
  17. To repeat and emphasize...right turns are safer in countries where traffic drives on the right side (e.g. America). Left turns are "safer" in a left side country like Thailand or the UK.
  18. I (almost) always have a good tine in HA. Never a problem finding female company while I am there. In fact, I"d venture to say I bafrned more girls from HA than any other bar...until Coyotee Agogo opened. It's a matter of breaking the ice by (shudder) buying a drink. After that, it's all uphill.
  19. No question Thai post can find addresses...sadly, the private couriers haven't come close to their abilities.
  20. That's an understatement. Thailand's not the only nation that doesn't use street name and sequential house number...Japan's system appears to be at least as bad. For some of the various postal addressing schemes around the world, this wiki is pretty informative.
  21. FLB New Years Eve Party Monday Dec 31. I'm going. Are you?

  22. That wouldn't be very helpful in Thailand, since they drive on the left side of the street. Also, it assumes that the country has a postal address system that can be mapped to a GPS location. As I've pointed out over and over in this thread, that is not the case in Thailand. Possibly UPS has some mega computer application that can do it, but I doubt it. Have you lived or visited in Thailand?
  23. Hi tomcat...I don't use Chrome that much with android, preferring Dolphin browser, but I tried it and the full swipe up didn't appear to work for me either. I loaded a long page and then swiped several times to move to the top. It's a good workout for your fingers.
  24. Come on, don't sugar coat it. When he heard the supposed story he said "bullshit!"!
