  1. I've heard good things about The Irish Rovers...700b night for their large room. And, the Pasadena Lodge (very nice rooms from their website) has rooms from 700-1200 baht/night. http://hotelpasadenalodge.com/
  2. Yeah, they are pretty awful at handling their business issues. Once you're in, the rooms are nice though! I just don't know if it's worth the trouble I hear people have gone through to book them. FWIW, we (FLB) have a discount with them, but it's not anything where we get any advantage or revenue from their bookings. I just set it up as a service for board members. If it's a pain to use, don't bother, is my advice.
  3. This wonderful restaurant has had 3 locations in the last 4 years. The current location is on Pattaya Tai (South Pattaya Road) close to Sukhimvit. If you're coming from 2nd road, heading east, cross 3rd road and keep going. It's on the right somewhere after that...it's set back from Pattaya Tai down a driveway. You should be able to ask any baht bus driver or moto driver to take you there. Say "Lan Ahan When Jan" (well, that's how it sounds to me ). Do not pronounce it with a "v" sound or like it's written, because they won't have a clue what you mean.
  4. Sure looks like fun. I'd go except we have a party the night before, and I've learned not to plan anything during the day after a party.
  5. Financing?
  6. A warning is just that. A warning for something posted on the board. It is NOT an invitation to enter into a dialog with the moderator. Moderating the board takes a lot of time from each of us who are doing it...it's very rare that a warning is given out...and they are not the end of the world. It's a warning. Leave it at that. Protesting the warning by saying "somebody else said worse" is not an excuse. We can't parse and analyze every thread and figure out what is better and what is worse. It's should be apparent that, if you get a warning, it has to do with you, not anyone else. FYI, Sailfast moderates Politics and Religion (thank god!), LBJ is temporarily a global moderator (meaning all forums), and I am still here. Both of these guys are fair minded and level headed. If you got a warning from either of them, you deserved it. BTW, nobody is really moderating Battles and Arguments.

    Beer Lao

I heard this location shut down. Maybe he just changed his phone number, I don't know, but we had to find him again. Anyway, going behind Carrefour is worth a try. You're welcome, jacko.

I'm in the USA at the moment, and the bartender is in Pattaya. Not a lot I can do about it. But, you mentioned a warehouse. It's just a guy with some cases sitting around that he delivers.

    Beer Lao

My bartender orders it from some guy when we need more.
  10. As a postscript to last night's party, I was too mao to take my bike home, so I left it parked on Pratumnak near Soi Diamond and took a mototaxi home. When I went back to check on it today, it turns out I was in a no parking area and the bike was gone. I park on Pratumnak about once every 6 months, but never left the bike there over night. Now I know. A taxi ride to Soi 9, then off into the hinterlands of Soi Khaopai way up on Pattaya Tai recovered the bike. Just in case anyone's curious, the recovery fee for the bike is 400baht (although oddly, my receipt said 300b ).
  11. You're out of practice...you left your party at 1am! I stayed until about 2, btw. I made a big mistake buying that round for a bunch of folks, because everyone then bought me one back. Good to see you again. Now, everyone, come to my going away party tonight. And, I'll be having a Welcome Back Martin party on the 24th when I return. Oh, and yes, my head hurts too.
  12. What pisses me off is that the Borgs at photobucket are slowly moving through my pictures from the bar crawl and the party on the 9th and deleting photos. As I looked again tonight, some awesome photos taken in a gogo were deleted from the bar crawl report.
  13. I believe I closed the place and they had to throw me out at 3:30AM. It looked like a good party, though by the time I arrived many girls had been barfined already. Cheers to Ricky and Terry Lee...and SOS if he can remember that I was there.
  14. I like the services that allow you to post the image on the message board without having to follow a link. Photobucket does that nicely, i think imagevenue does a decent job (and if i subscribe, I can get inline full size photos). flickr has a very primitive way to post photos outside their site...I've never quite figured it out, but I think you have to do it photo-by-photo. Yecch.
  15. Here's what imagevenue gives as a linkable image set...not too bad... The free account only allows 40 pics at a time to be uploaded. I can link large images by subscribing to their service...and perhaps a higher number of uploads can be done in one pass as well. Looking good, glen!
  16. Looking good. Anything but the obviously illegal is allowed. I'll be checking out their ease of use features next.
  17. So, they're not serious about the following? Or from their windows uploader: I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about this site....or is this just a standard statement of policy that they ignore in practice?
  18. I've recently discovered photobucket is starting to censor my stored photos. Here is what I like about photobucket (aside from their puritanical attitude): 1) Bulk uploader 2) Album support 3) Ease of selecting photos and then creating IMG encapsulation meaning, I don't have to process one photo at a time, but rather can select a group of photos and have them all formatted so they can be posted on the board 4) I am willing to pay a subscription fee to get the ability to host nude or sexual content I think flickr has 1 and 2, but I don't know if it can be used to do bulk IMG tags for the forum like photobucket does. Any ideas?
  19. nimbus, despite the fact that you are Italian, I think you know the difference between lower case and UPPER CASE letters. It's not about information, it's about shouting with BIG LETTERS (we call them CAPITAL letters, from the Latin language).
  20. Thanks. That's a forum setting that grabbed the yellow first. So, if you have yellow and want to see blue, you need to change it.
  21. If you want to go back to the prior forum yellow/grey scheme, you can choose "Pattayatalk yellow" in the drop down box on the lower left of the page. "Pattayatalk blue" is the scheme we have been using for a few months now. Thanks for frostfire for working on the new color scheme and getting it running. If you have any problems with "Pattayatalk yellow", please report them in this thread.
  22. Can't help you with the View New Posts overshoot. It's based on your last login or your last Mark All Posts As Read, as far as I know. The latest forum software doesn't default to saving a copy of your SENT messages. Below the message text area (where you type your message), is a checkbox that you have to check to get the SENT item saved.
  23. Just don't request Hotel California, anything by the Carpenters or Credence....please. But up to you.
  24. As I recall, and I might not be 100% accurate, I think the message says "for violating the terms of service. How you turn that in "suspended due to abuse" is a mystery to me.
  25. Double posting announcing the party - one topic deleted. Topic moved from General Pattaya to this forum for business announcements.
