Shilo, if you can, spend the money and get a PCX 150..I just bought one used, 3000 km, 2012 model, and it is just wonderful to ride. It's smooth, has ample power to get your fat ass moving, and the brakes are efficent and strong, to stop yourself in a hurry. I paid 66K baht for the used PCX 150 with low mileage...I don't know if that could have been beaten, but it was a decent upgrade from my Yamaha Nuovo Elegance...which I don't bother to ride at all. Two nice features (for me) of the PCX are wide rearview mirrors that go outside a fat farang body and allow you to see behind you (very important on a bike), and idle shutoff, which stops the engine when you come to a stop for more than a few seconds...saves lots of gas. I've been riding for over a week here and there, and still have over a half tank left...it does seem to really save gas, since In Pattaya, you spend a lot of time waiting for interminable red light changes. PCX 150 is my recommendation.

I was curious about wooden hats after this post. I'd never heard of such a thing. Seems they'd be uncomfortable and fragile as well. After viewing atlas2's topical video, I did some quick checking on pricing and...they are not cheap! As the guy in the video says on their website, each hat is custom made for the buyer's head shape. A typical made-to-order cowboy hat was $700-1000. I'll bet that Russian was really proud of that hat.

LOL, cbrib, thankfully that hasn't happened yet. Another side-effect of these Willy nilly mail arrivals is that sometimes I'll pay the bill for the month twice, leaving me with a credit that has to get burnt up before I'm in sync again. This occurred when I was using a combination of paying by calendar date (my calendar) and paying by bill arrival. Now, I just pay by what I know is the due date and pretty much ignore the paper bills. It's the best way I've found to deal with this inefficient system. Btw, jacko, I've had exactly the same problem with TOT bills. Once they arrive late, or not at all, and you've missed a month, it's a trip to their offices to pay. The amount due per month was something like 99 baht..some tiny number. I discovered I didn't need the TOT line for my 3BB connection, so I didn't get bothered when each month's bill came, since I didn't even have a phone connected to the line...ever! After 7 months, they still hadn't cut my service. So, I got around to going to their offices on Pattaya Klang to pay about 700 baht. They frowned at me like some deadbeat, where they should have been happy to have a customer who didn't add one call to their network load in 3 years but had been paying for the privilege of...what? Okay, I paid them and got a receipt for payment, which I kept for a couple of months in case they continued to bill me. About 3 or 4 months later, I got a letter saying they were cutting my service for non-payment...and the amount was what I had paid them in their offices! I ignored it and never heard from them again. Sometimes you can only laugh at this business environment.

I don't fill in the number anymore...it works fine.

I just put my bill due dates in my calendar since everything I subscribe to is fixed monthly amounts. Then I pay them whether I receive a bill in the mail or not. Any other technique would drive me mad.

Here is an example of timely bill delivery. I have TRUE MOVE mobile...my bill arrived today, March 5, 2014. Hereafter I use Euro/Thai date format...DD/MM/YYYY The service period was 10/12/2013-09/01/2014 okay..that was nearly 2 months ago...no problem, i like the float on my money The date of the invoice (when generated) is 11/01/2014 okay, that's 2 months ago...where's it been all this time? The due date for payment is 06/02/2014 Hmm. It's 05/03/2014 already so I guess that makes me a month late. I don't know who is to blame, but it happens so much with so many vendors, that I think it must be the post office. Usually bills arrive with a delay between invoice generated date and received date of weeks..this is a matter of months...but still, how in the world does this country manage to do business this way?

All was not lost..the desserts were just fine...and the potato skins were good too. I was going to order the safe bet, the salmon pasta like you had, but I decided to chance it with the pesto... I should just stop trying the pesto in new restaurants...I'm nearly always disappointed. Oh, but when I am not, it is great.

This is me thinking about the beef stew I'd left in the refrigerator and how good it would be right then.

I ate there today, and decided to take a chance and order the pasta al pesto. "Take a chance" because I've only found one restaurant in Pattaya that can make a decent pesto sauce, and even they weren't consistently able to make it. Once again, I am going to say that what I was served was a novel way of presenting pasta al pesto...not only was it a novel way of serving it, but the green component on the top bore little resemblance to any pesto I have ever eaten. After i had thoroughly tossed the pasta to spread whatever that was around, it was a pasta dish, but I'm not sure what to call it. Here are some examples of pasta al pesto from google image search, first page. I don't see anything resembling what I received. Incidentally, the picture below, top row, 2nd from left, looks very much like the picture in their menu, so obviously their menu is not using their own pictures. Dessert however, was another matter altogether. They have a great dessert menu, and I chose this one...a dish named "Papa" something. Basically, ice cream, whipped cream, hot chocolate...it was quite nice. Nothing here was cheap..it was quite pricey by local standards for a small Italian restaurant...at least it seemed that way. I didn't pay attention to the price of each item, but two of us, eating and drinking one dish, one drink, and one dessert came to about 1400 baht.
